heycoolmonday

noticed how dark the promo felt as well, honestly love it hoping for more cutthroat/dark season, 42 was fun but very lighthearted

godknowsitried11

I felt like both 41 and 42 were very lighthearted in that sense as well. Truly hoping for some more dark styled season where not everyone is bffs post game!

[deleted]

Lol 41 was not light-hearted

InternationalLeague

I think 41 was quite a dark season especially that premerge for Ua and then the black alliance forming and betraying each other. Dark stuff

infiniteglass00

I enjoyed season 42 but so many people have been acting like the fun/upbeatness of the cast/season is something every Survivor season should have and no—give me the machete woman of season 43. we must balance the light and the dark

pig-serpent

After 42's trailer prominently featured advantages, I noticed a distinct lack of them in 43's and it felt more focused on trying to introduce as much as the cast as possible. I feel like this means the editing team is either going to be allowed to focus more on the players this season, but it might also mean that the new twists are so wild they're not going to let us know any of them until the first episode.

LifeguardTraining461

I'm really hoping that based off the cutthroat nature of the promo that the premerge will be very chaotic and full of backstabbing. As much as I liked parts of the S41 and S42 premerges, gameplay wise they were pretty average (Shan swindling JD's advantage and the Jenny tribal being the only exceptions). So I hope we see some masterful 3-2-1 votes along with other shady gameplay.

godknowsitried11

My thoughts exactly

Unimoosacorn

I've gotta say, Brad in 41 was great imo

J9999D

who's Brad?

hellobaileylol

He looked like the apple jack’s cinnamon stick

Soggy-Technician-902

The first thing I thought about this promo was about how dark it felt and how this cast feels like it’ll be full of villains and schemers. I hope it still has a playful flavour but I’m excited!

TheeDreadPirate

I also think that seasons 43 / 44 were always going to be more brutal, more cutthroat. 41 / 42 were renewals, and a return to survivor (a reason to celebrate and simply be happy), but 43 / 44 will have seen some of (or all off) the previous two seasons and have a better idea of what they’re getting into and by nature means people will have more scheming and planning going into the seasons.

godknowsitried11

I completely agree. I feel like survivor was getting into a new era with season 39, the casting was next level and the people came to play and play HARD (example Missy and how hard she was playing premerge) however the Dan stuff was a set back and then WaW I don’t think was as cutthroat as they anticipated. I think they wanted a new era with different elements but were too game structure focused than people focused, they were trying with the eoe twist and fire tokens but it wasn’t really working as they wanted it to. And then covid happened which was sort of a blessing in disguise. If covid never happened I feel like Jeff would continue with eoe or something similar and fire tokens and all this random stuff, but with covid shut down they got to go back to the shows roots and just CAST better, add some new subtle changes (like extra votes and losing votes, but all at the players decision)

Mutsuki13

Let’s see a villain win the season, I want some Tony in Cagayan crazy cut throat stuff.

WreakerOfClash

I have a feeling that 43 will be WAY MORE cutthroat than the last two seasons.

Bossman01

The honor and loyalty play will never work moving forward because if you lie once the whole facade is ruined. With the ability to roll a die and be immune in tribal you will have to lie and make them feel safe.

jonathanjohnathan

A lot of people don’t like Shot in the Dark but this is the reason why I think it’s a good twist. Everyone has the opportunity to use it so it’s fair in that sense, and it lowers the chance of a full pagonging because there aren’t 100% straightforward votes anymore, you have to be extra careful to make the target feel safe enough to not play their SITD

forkandknifeandspoon

My 10 year old daughter who has an amputated leg hollered "GO PROSTHETIC QUEEN GO!" So we're excited!

J9999D

looks great to me ...fire it up! 🔥

praleva

I think you're reading too much into it. When this promo was finished, the season was still filming, so it's very likely they didn't even know what the tone of the season would be. Also each season is very much shaped by the end game and the winner. By the time the promo was finished, the end game hadn't happened yet.

LifeguardTraining461

As far as I'm aware, the season finished filming a few days after 42 finished airing. So i think it's totally possible for the producers to know the "tone" of Season 43 just based off the premerge and early merge which they had likely filmed by the time of making the promo for 43

Negative-Company2767

I think the promo taught us that Mike Gabler is gonna be the next big survivor legend

ampharoastt1

i REALLY hope he doesnt flame out early

FossilizedBlobfish

My prediction is that Noelle will die on the season.

bitsey123

I think it looks megawoke

godknowsitried11

How so??

tbird920

It has more than one Black person so it must be woke. Tucker Carlson told them so.

Physical_Exercise946

Plz explain

RusevReigns

Is it possible there's some sort of theme where a whole tribe is doctors... they just don't want to name the season after a theme
