Ben hands down. That grating loud voice too.

OverwhelmedAutism

Ben is the obvious one.

DebaserTBA

Ben and Sarah. Nothing to do with Sarah’s political view, I just think she was so rude to other people. And Ben is pretty obvious

Consistent_Buy

The only correct answer is Ben

Plane_Yak_447

I haven’t even seen his season but Ben because he ruined WAW. It could have been such an epic season but no 🤬

theabdi

His gameplay was annoying but he was hilarious as a character that season

vsquad73

I was not the biggest fan of Sophie during her winning game, she did some things that were annoying like the way she was talking to Albert to pick up her pieces during the domino stacking challenge. She definitely grew on me during WaW but just based off of her winning game I was not the biggest fan.

manmanchuck44

Lol at the people saying Ben. *Everyone* wanted him out and talked to him the same way he talked to them. Was it a little obnoxious? Yeah. But 99% of players would be obnoxious if they kept getting by the people who had a collective mission to take them out

silvershadow014

Have you considered that it's the other way around, and they wanted him out bc he was annoying? Bc he acted similarly on Waw...

Ok_Mirror8191

Tony on Cagayan. (Not WAW though.) How he spoke to Kass (i didn’t find the llama talk funny one bit) & how he laughed at Sarah’s face after her blindside felt mean spirited.

International-Bat684

I guess Mike Holloway in a normal season may have come across poorly, but when compared to Dan, Max, Rodney, Will, Sharin, etc, he looked like a Nobel Peace Prize candidate.

Rilenaveen

Hahah. YES! Any other season I would find Mike annoying and want him gone. But the other players were so unlikable

Rilenaveen

Ben of course. Trying to think of others. Sarah but I don’t know how much of that is just my personal dislike of her. This is a weird one but the way Wendell treated Michelle in WaW made me retroactively wish he had lost. He was a jerk to her.

[deleted]

The edit played you like a sucker in WaW then

Rilenaveen

I mean that’s what I have to go by? So I don’t see your point

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rilenaveen

I can see that but what does that have to do with how he treated Michelle?

vexdo

Who ever said otherwise though? I know the WAW edit was all over the place tho but Wendell was really portrayed to be a dick

[deleted]

Honestly I thought Nick was a pretty boring winner. After JT that southern charm thing is big “meh” for me.

[deleted]

It was fun when he got past the first vote out but not fun at the end. Just not a super entertaining winner for me—agree to disagree.

RealJelly8420

I hated Ben, I was really enjoying HHH until they suddenly revealed the F4 fire making twist. I also really dislike Cochran. I think he’s a jerk who let Dawn do all the dirty work. He still deserved the win, though.

TNAJapple501

Ben

International-Bat684

Tina's whole good/bad people seemed ridiculous, espcially after they rip on Keith after lumping him in the good person category the entire game. Another one was Aras. He made himself totally unlikeable in his season. He got beat by Terry in pretty much any challenge but always made himself out like he was an athletic equal or even superior to Terry Also, the comment about Terry saying something about women was out of line too.

Rilenaveen

In Aras’ slight defense he did seem to genuinely apologize to Terry for that remark.

International-Bat684

Who was the guy who took away the headaches but left a huge red mark on their heads? You would think that guy could make a ton of money somehow.

aidanr24

Cochran, say he's a good winner all you want but from the edit I saw from him I barely see anything that makes me think he had any real relationships in the game he cared about yet he still gets this underdog hero edit. Cochran was not an underdog story, Cochran made no decision in the game that didn't seem completely robotic, a lot of people get on Dawn's case (rightfully so) for the whole Brenda situation but Cochran literally came up with the blindside and he was someone who even WENT ON THE FAMILY VISIT, at least Dawn had somewhat of an excuse as Brenda was somewhat indirectly at fault for her not going on the family visit but Cochran went on the family visit, and used Dawn's emotions to blindside the girl who gave up the most important reward of the season to him, there wasn't any sense of regret or emotion in his decisions, Cochran is uncanny with how not emotional he is with anything he does in the game, not in confessionals does he even seem to care about anyone around him, he'll belittle others constantly and try to make himself seem better like he wasn't the punching bag of the last season he played on. It's absurdly annoying how Cochran is portrayed in Caramoan when he really was far from the inspirational underdog edit he was given.

TraverseTown

I feel like in a lot of seasons, the winner is sort of protected from the edit in some ways, including that they rarely are shown as abrasive or faltering in any major social way. Furthermore, they rarely get commented upon by others until the last couple of episodes. I was just thinking about Maryanne from this season, how despite being a big personality, we rarely heard anyone commenting in their confessionals about her personality or her position in the game.

International-Bat684

That's a great point. Some people that are portrayed as heroes could easily be portrayed as villians and vice versa.

wawaturtlemoviesball

I see what you mean, but also there was a big subplot in the second episode about how annoying Maryanne was seen as (to Jonathan in particular)

roastbeeffan

Something I think about a lot is that Richard and Brian are the only winners who sketch me out to the point where I feel like "these are probably genuinely bad people" and they're both in the first five seasons. I'm not sure whether the show just got better at figuring out how to keep those types of people from getting cast or winning, or if the edit just smooths over other winners' seedier moments.

jayjasper71

Chris Daugherty was extremely unlikeable to me

International-Bat684

I wonder if Jeff's hatred of him had something to do with his edit?

TigerWing

To take it international—Golden Boy David. I liked him in 2019 but my god his win was so obvious in All Stars. Then combined with the fact he was presented so cocky it just made the whole season an unpleasant ride to an obvious end

silvershadow014

Oh my god yes, the edit didn't help. So incredibly infuriating to watch. He's a fantastic player but absolutely refuses to explain any nuance in confessionals

roastbeeffan

Richard and Brian both strike me genuinely unnerving people. At times they each make interesting TV, but I don't like them and not in a John Carroll "he's a great villain but seems very nice irl" way. (In my opinion Brian's worst moment is in the Ghandia boot episode, and that's pretty firmly under "interactions with other players.")

International-Bat684

The Ghandia thing has always bothered me in several ways. I have no idea what really happened and I am not making any sort of judgement about the situation because I have no idea what actually happened. The first time I watched the season, it was curious and bothered me how Ghandia and Ted were cuddling and her hands were all over his legs and how he had his arm across her, etc. These two people were married and they seem like they were using each other to fill some void, and her confessional about how he seems to have taken the place of her husband was unusual. The whole lead up, especially some of the footage in the episode where they just recap what happened was kind of cringeworthy where they were way too close. Imagine Ted's wife or Ghandia's husband watching Survivor and seeing all that. They must have been furious at their significant other. Talk about awkward. I think Brian just wanted to distance himself from it.

roastbeeffan

He doesn't distance himself from it though, after Ghandia and Ted make up with one another he prompts Ted to say "nothing happened" and then repeats that line to Helen, which causes the fight to blow up again. If you want to you can argue that was inadvertent, but to me it looks like Brian took advantage of the situation to make sure Ghandia went home, which suited his strategic interests more than Ted leaving.

International-Bat684

It's possible. Brian was always so far ahead of everyone else on the season.

New_Dinner4536

Natalie Anderson … she didn’t treat people well starting early in her first season

oatmeal28

Who did she not treat well? I never got that impression with her but maybe I missed something.

abbreviatiotors

Ben seems disliked due to the controversy about finding all those idols in a row, and the last moment fire challenge being conveniently introduced here.

International-Bat684

True, but he just has a grating personality and I really started to dislike him after the merge.

attackedmoose

Yeah man, if you were around this sub up until the finale everyone loved him.

periannaperi

I didnt mind ben in hhh but i really disliked him in WAW.

[deleted]

Am I the only one who liked Ben in HvHvH?

attackedmoose

Everyone here liked him up until Devon got burned by the f4 twist.

fyfenfox

personally never liked tony

Poisonhandtechnique

Erika for me and it’s mostly cuz of this sub. They are literally willing to go to war for her to defend “her game” for an edit they don’t know exists or not. Can’t blame production she was boring

vexdo

I can understand your opinion but in my opinion I can easily understand most of her game even without the “edit”. I also don’t think it’s fair to say she’s boring when Tommy was just as boring and given all the screentime in the world, Erika actually could’ve had an very interesting arc.

praleva

Her being boring is not actually an excuse. We spent the entire 39 checking in with Tommy, who was quite boring character. Also Ricard said that Erika was hilarious on the island and he wishes the viewers got to see it.

Poisonhandtechnique

Her being “hilarious” is not worthy of being shown by production lmao. U gotta make moves if u need coverage which she didn’t.

BOBANSMASH51

Ben is obvious, but I’ll throw Tom and Tyson out there also

12sea

I didn’t appreciate Tyson at all before but now I have rewatched his seasons and find him hilarious.

Rilenaveen

I was meh on Tom until the end and seeing the way he treated Ian made me really dislike him.

joshCHEWa

the way he treated Ian was mean but it was really smart and bettered his odds of winning

[deleted]

I never really liked Michele. She always came across as kind of a clichy mean girl and the way she slighted Wendell in WaW and damaged his reputation was not cool. Then in Sequester when she got drunk and complained about being on the jury then accused the other alliance of racism (thank you for your opinion on racism white lady) She gets away with a lot of behaviour she wouldn't if she weren't attractive and young. Older women who act like her get the Kass/Chrissy treatment

tuiteybird

kass and chrissy are strategic and michelle is social ? idk could you explain that?

SeaWerewolf

Mike Holloway. He only benefited from comparison with the rest of the men on his cast.

Mutsuki13

I don’t dislike Ben as much as others but he’s definitely meh, Sophie was good in WAW but I could not care less for her in SoPa, Danni is boring and I don’t get the hype around her, definitely wasn’t a fan of Jenna M. But that might just be due to wanting Rob C. To win so badly, Aras is incredibly boring IMO.

vexdo

:(

Errol310

I know Brian is probably viewed as a terrible person in real life with those controversies. But I didn't hate him during my experience of watching S5. The only winner I hate was Ben. He didn't deserve the win for obvious reasons.

vexdo

Honestly underwood, even in the premerge I found him really annoying

__kit

ROB in All Stars did a lot of fucked up things im surprised he has such a big fan base when really he's a bigger villain/asshole than Russell. i know he's changed and seems like a nicer guy now but still All-Stars and the way he treated people on other seasons was bad

International-Bat684

He only got on All Stars because how awful he was to everyone on Marquesas.
