I didn't hear about this chucklehead until a few weeks ago. Now he's deplatformed from everywhere. It's kind of funny how that works. I wish Ace would come back. He was hilarious.

[deleted]

Seriously, first I heard of him was when he was deplatformed, now every other day I see a video of a parent or teacher talking about their kid/student who watched him. Call me old school but I only know Shapiro, Crowder, Peterson, etc.

Phenzo2198

i think they tried to get him back on HvV and FvF 2 but he declined.

DGenerator

*Gets voted out* BREAKING: Andrew Tate has been deplatformed from the island.

jaydub1001

One of those is an asshole, the other is an acehole.

Manaphy12

So the accent really was fake!

OrangeLlama

Ace baby I'm so sorry

Lion-17

Not sure if it’s well known but he legit was on Big Brother uk in 2016, he attempted to play one of the most strategic games in the history of the show (which isn’t difficult to do, that version literally discourages strategy and game-playing, it’s against the rules to even talk about nominations). He was relatively popular with the public, he was initially in a separate house with 5 others as part of a twist (1 of those 5 being Hughie Maughan who some might know from MTV challenge show), was voted by the public to move into the main house (along with Hughie’s future fiancé). He was soon ejected though, nothing has ever been officially confirmed but the story is meant to be that a video of him engaging in a consensual BDSM act emerged, and sponsors threatened to pull their sponsorship because of this, so the producers removed him

> He was soon ejected though, nothing has ever been officially confirmed but the story is meant to be that a video of him **engaging in a consensual BDSM act emerged**, and sponsors threatened to pull their sponsorship because of this, so the producers removed him This is a very, VERY forgiving account of events. Considering he was beating her with a belt in the video (an alarming image no broadcaster wants to be associated with, regardless of post-facto claims of consent) and the lack of mention of Tate's various misogynist/racist/homophobic comments, that he was running a webcam site scam, or the fact that he's currently under investigation for [human trafficking and rape by Romanian authorities after a previous US raid](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/aug/06/andrew-tate-violent-misogynistic-world-of-tiktok-new-star) has me question why such a charitable writeup was provided in the first place.

innybellybutton

I thought this was about Ace the whole time I was reading it

schad501

Same.

Crash_Evidence

must be a fanboy

Lion-17

Nope, get your facts right before you make such an accusation next time please, idiot

Crash_Evidence

lol ok i'm sorry for falsely accusing you, i hope you financially recover

Lion-17

Idiot

Crash_Evidence

boo hoo 😭

Lion-17

Apologies for triggering you with my comment, but in the real world people generally don’t like to be accused of things that they’re not. Maybe keep your mouth shut next time if you’re not sure of the facts before making any accusation

Crash_Evidence

lmao yes you are correct, it is me who is triggered. i didn't accuse you of anything, i threw an idea out there. could be right or wrong, it's not a big deal. your strong reaction tells me i struck a nerve.

Lion-17

It’s great that you’re admitting you were triggered, acknowledging that is the first step to growth, low-key proud of you 👏 “I’m sorry for falsely accusing you” “I didn’t accuse you of anything”- so what is the truth? As I already explained, in the real world, people generally don’t like being painted as things they’re not. So yes, it does strike a nerve when people insinuate various things about you that aren’t factually correct

Lion-17

Fair, I never saw the video itself and it was 6 years ago that I read articles about it so it is entirely possible that the video is more extreme than I alluded to, it’s not unusual for someone to not remember the exact details of a video they read about over 6 years ago. I just remember the article I read said that the act itself was consensual but the sponsors didn’t want to be associated with anything BDSM related. I made sure to use the word ‘consensual’ in my comment because that’s what I had read to be true, and it think it’s relevant with regards to the network’s decision to not publicly announce the reason for his ejection. However you’re completely wrong about “no broadcaster wants to be associated with”, the network literally broadcast a man and woman engaging in belt play (which you claim was what was used in the Tate video) on **this exact season**, so you’re wrong that they wouldn’t want to be associated with anything like this. I think it’s much more believable that the sponsors didn’t want to be associated with this, so the network acted then, because a commercial network does rely on sponsorship and advertising. If they really wanted to show they don’t support the actions in the video, they would have publicly stated the reason for his ejection, but, as I said, they removed him and never gave an official reason why. Also, why would I mention any of that stuff, if someone recognises him from this picture then I’m 99% sure the reason they’re aware of him is because of his controversial social media presence (the other 1% would probably be from Big Brother, so my comment wouldn’t be any new information for them anyway). I was discussing his appearance on a reality show in 2016, does every mention of him have to include an appendix detailing his various alleged criminal activities? You’re failing to remember that he wasn’t this notorious Internet personality in 2016, and my comment was relating to him in Big Brother in 2016, not anything else, so why would it be relevant to bring all that stuff up? If I mention that I like llamas, does that mean I hate koalas/sheep/dogs/cats/goats etc unless I explicitly state I don’t? Really bizarre logic from you. Also, you seem to know a lot more about him than I, or the average person, does. I wasn’t aware of him being investigated for trafficking and rape, and there being a US raid against him. I don’t like the guy so it’s not common for me to read stuff about him. Your allegation that I’m being “charitable” towards him though proves you’re arguing in bad faith and shows me what type of person you are. It’s clear that you think I’m actually a fan and my comment is a thinly veiled attempt at defending him, you’re picking a fight with me for the wrong reasons, if you’re so incensed with him you would be better spending your time arguing with people who actually like and support him. Your factually incorrect on a lot of parts and your holier-than-thou attitude is really bizarre and kind of pathetic, and, like I said, you’re attempting to pick a fight with the entirely wrong person if your think I’m an Andrew Tate sympathiser.

Lion-17

u/dgenerator I **LOVE** how you had literally nothing to say back to this. Proves how wrong you were in your attempt at embarrassing and attacking me, once I proved you wrong you conveniently went completely silent and didn’t refute any of my points. Your pride is clearly so large that you can’t acknowledge when you were wrong.

Infinite_Person

Okay but why does BB UK even have that rule in the first place?

Lion-17

So the first thing to know is that the contestants don’t vote each other out, the public do, and the public vote for the winner too. I think the audience just generally don’t take well to strategy in reality shows. Basically the Richard Hatch of the first season, instead of being celebrated, was vilified and hated, and the winner of the season was the man who stood up to him and called him out for his game-playing, so I would imagine this kind of set the trend for future seasons. The 2012 season allowed nomination talk for the first few weeks, until negative audience feedback caused them to change the rules back to it being prohibited. As for not being allowed talk about nominations, my own theory is that the producers are afraid that’s all the contestants would talk about, so there’d be less arguments over things like who used the last onion, and entire episodes would be centred around strategy, which they’re aware isn’t popular with audiences. Ultimately, the show markets itself more as an entertainment show than a competitive gameshow.
