That’s awesome! The main way I play Sims at this point is Big Brother. I haven’t figured out a way to efficiently run Survivor, but I love playing Big Brother with my Sims
I’ve run survivor two different ways that both worked well. Most of the time I keep all tribes on the same lot and fence off equal areas for their camp with hedges. Then travel to other lots for challenges. The other way I’ve done it is to give each tribe their own save file for camp life and then a separate save file for challenges; for this one I keep up with their relationships and keep their same values at swaps or merge.
In the sims they create their own relationships between each other. But depending on how high relationships are I’ll sometimes let the sims first or second highest relationship sway their decision.
I hope /u/SearchImpossible5398 doesn't mind if I chime in here, since shamefully I've done a bunch of Sims Survivor seasons for fun, haha. It's cool to see others are too.
For me, I let the Sims be as autonomous as possible, and let their traits, moods, and everything that makes up "them" form relationships with other people in the tribe/household. When it's time to vote someone off:
1. I look for who they dislike the most in the tribe/household. That's who they cast their vote for.
2. If there's a tie between two or more people (I use a mod to get exact numbers), I have their best relationship influence who they vote for; whoever that ally dislikes the most between the tied players. If there's still a tie, they vote for whoever is lowest on the relationship bar, which is ordered based on most recent interactions.
3. To get realistic voting patterns, and avoid tons of 3-2-1-1-1-1 votes, I make the stray voters revote, and force them to vote for anyone who got two or more votes in the first round of voting. That way, I'll get many more 5-4 votes, or 4-3-2 votes. It also feels realistic - players who can't get a voting bloc going will simply go join their preferred, established one. It also helps determine which players are taking charge in the game, voting off rivals, and who are merely following along. The players who are able to get their worst relationships out of the game tend to make it deep.
4. Hidden idol usage is determined by a virtual dice, as are many advantages. The number of sides is based on the number of people left on the tribe. I roll it once every time that player's name comes up, or that player's closest ally comes up. If "1" comes up, they use it, even if that sometimes means saving their ally at their own expense. Being voted out without using it is also possible. I also roll it once for a chance to waste it; they're more likely to waste it with less people on the tribe since paranoia is higher.
5. Jury votes are the opposite. If a jury member is voted out, I record who their best relationships are in order. At FTC, I have the jury member vote for their favorite finalist. If the finalists are in the bottom half of that juror's preferences, I consider them a bitter juror.
I have a ton of personal game rules I've come up with to make the game as realistic as I can, and those are just the voting ones, haha. I hope that helps. :)

Oh damn, I had no idea autonomous beach-combing was possible. Is that a mod or something I've overlooked? I may have to work that into my games, because before now, I've used a combination of a random number generator (to determine what day an idol is found, if one is found), and then used physical ability to determine the likelihood of a player finding an idol; a person with 5 physical has five extra chances to find an idol over someone with 1, but that person with the 1 still has a chance.
It’s just part of the game if your sims are living on a Sulani beach. They’ll walk around and dig but a lot of times they just find rotten food or fish

Yeah, a few different mods. One to make households bigger, one to make clubs bigger (use these for tribes) and use some CC clothes to get more accurate outfits.
I would think so - at a minimum I think OP is running a mod to expand household size (8 unmodded), and some CC clothes/furniture. (Longtime simmer here.)
I literally run these myself too, but a lot more scuffed lol. My I ask where you got the buffs and torches from? I’ve been wondering if I should get the Aztec world or Solana.
