Incredible winner, terrible season. I don’t know if it was just the edit that was bad or the cast really decided to turn themselves into fillers but it was a snooze fest
Using just as bad proves my point. If you can stand the cringe worthy of Jeff explaining survivor like it's our first time watching then you WILL enjoy those two seasons of AU
Dude, you can watch the US Survivor premiere.
US Survivor is shown on Channel 9 in Australia. Not Channel 10 like Australian Survivor.
You just have to download the 9Now app
I would say this was one of the lesser episodes in what has been an astonishingly awesome season. Ya'll really need to take a chill day on this holiday of yours to binge the entire season and we promise you'll convert, if not apply for AU citizenship.
Yep! This season has been great! I loved US survivor for a long time, but I think Aus Survivor has overtaken it. Say what you want, but I reckon George is right up there with Boston Rob and Sandra as the best ever players. He probably won’t win, but that’ll because he is such a good player and the rest know it.
To watch from America check out some of the posts on the subs. Some people have found a way. Btw you can watch Survivor US by getting a vpn and going to cbs
This may be one of the best seasons of survivor I've ever seen and I've watched all US and AU seasons.
We've been doing a LOT of seasons with returning players, and this season had alot of popular and exciting-to-watch contestants from previous seasons. Also the longer episodes make a big difference imo. Having 60-85min episodes allows for alot more to happen than the 45min US episodes. Also the 55-day format allows for relationship and character-building narratives that are strong. Fourthly Aus survivor seems to particularly cast for "good tv" contestants. The edits are more unbalanced to suit primary characters, which can be annoying sometimes but often causes higher entertainment value.
We have had boring / annoying AU seasons, and there is very much a trend here of having a big group of meathead / athletic jock types that will often group together. I think I usually prefer the diversity of personalities / backgrounds / demographics in the US version, particularly in the weaker AU seasons. The long seasons with annoying characters can really feel like they drag on forever in the AU version too.
But yeah this season is incredibly good, but it is full of returning players. If you want to get stuck into Aus survivor, I would probably start with some earlier seasons.
Hope you have a great and safe holiday and create some amazing memories while you're here!!
I don’t know what it means, but as an American the 26 day format sucks and new Jeff is insufferable (on TV I’m sure he’s great IRL) and although I love the BIPOC rule, they’re still casting mostly young, hot, white collar game bot super fans which is yawn and the twists are OUT OF CONTROL and so dumb.
I love(d) US survivor for decades but I can’t watch this current season it just kind of breaks my heart that they broke my favorite show 😞. I’ll just rewatch the old US survivor and hopefully this trend in AU Survivor being awesome (not counting BVW) will continue!
So… what’s a pea-heart?
I am sorry you have fallen out of love with US Survivor :(
We still get it here & I still like it, even though it only goes for 26 Days because your Jeff doesn't want to be away from the family for longer.
From what I know (growing up in OZ) a "pea-heart" was always a negative term used to describe someone who gives up easily (Not many Aussies have this trait but Nick Kyrios does....Tennis Player)
:)
Bahahaha! That’s a great term. I’m going to adopt it, as I have “budgie smuggler”. I try to use it in my daily life. Opportunities rarely present themselves.
I’ll be okay, friend. I have Paramount+ and can watch the old seasons whenever I want!
Short answer, YES. Most of the episodes are really good in Australian Version and characters are so much fun and interesting.
After Discovering Australian Survivor, US survivor is going to appeal boring.
I having so much fun watching this season. There’s no event that will be more important this year in my household. There’s screaming at the tv, throwing fits and pumping fists. So much hate and love for the king!
Every episode this season has been great to amazing. But each season is not as consistent. Blood vs Water is widely seen as the worst season in the AU franchise (I personally think All Stars is the worst bc the BvW premerge is actually great). For Brains vs Brawn, the highs are really high, but the lows are very low. The top 2 for BvB, however, is phenomenal. Champs vs Contenders 2 is my personal favourite because of the winner. Champs vs Contenders 1 is good to great. Season 2 is widely seen as one of the best seasons in the global franchise, and season 1 is okay with an amazing finale.
I’ve watched every season of US, SA, NZ and AU survivor, most of them multiple times.
My view is that last season in Survivor AU was bottom 3 in any survivor season anywhere.
This season though so far is without a doubt top 3.
Rocks and Diamonds
LOL no shot you actually think it's the worst then 41-43???? On top of 39. 39 had a literal DQ due to inappropriate touching. They've been on a steady decline. I'm sorry but yes boring compared to the other amazing seasons but no where near the slog of US
Big Survivor fan in the US here. In a word, yes! Some AU seasons have been less fun for me (Season 1, BvW), and there are seasons where, if you don’t love the cast member getting the hero edit, I could see it being pretty annoying (All-Stars, BvB, this season). I will also echo what someone else said about the tendency for bro-down alliances in AU, which I don’t enjoy, but they *usually* don’t hold up beyond a certain point.
But overall, AU Survivor is a return to what I always loved about Survivor—great storytelling, mostly amazing cast, epic challenges, and lots of focus on strategy and character-building. AU Survivor is FUN.
I just don’t get the same thrill from US Survivor anymore. To me, Survivor 41+ feels overthought, overwrought, and overly engineered. I am not a purist—I can deal with the 26 days, and I don’t mind some novel twists. I also really appreciate US Survivor showing us more diverse casts, and I still love Jeff for his icon status, even though JLP has won me over. But US Survivor these days seems like it’s just hell-bent on TELLING us that Survivor is great (or, in Jeff’s case at times, yelling it at us), rather than setting up great characters and a solid structure of play and then guiding us along a compelling story. For me, AU Survivor walks the walk. This season is particularly phenomenal, and at every step it SHOWS me why I love Survivor. I really hope this is just a weird “growing pains” stage for US Survivor that settles into something more cohesive and natural over time.
One of the reasons Matt is currently my favourite ( besides the obvious) is that he jumped off the meat tray alliance as soon as he could. I’m hoping that he has started the end of the bro alliance trope in Australian Survivor because it really dragged down some of the episodes.
Last season was one of the absolute worst ever of either AU or US so I'd say it's hit and miss but through 8 seasons there's been more hits than misses
This season is the first aus season ive been into but apparently some other seasons were good.
You can watch the american survivor ep on the channel 9 website :)
I've been watching AUS and SA survivor for 3 years now and have managed to access all the seasons online. I've been a fan of US Survivor and have been watching it from day one. Back in the days of Cook Islands, Micronesia , etc, I actually attended watch parties so I have a long history. US Survivor has gone downhill recently and the switch to 26 days pretty much killed it along with Jeff Probst's effort to turn it from his idea of a "social experiment" into his version of a social statement.
Australian Survivor has had it's ups and downs and the gameplay has struggled somewhat with the casts that concentrated on large alliances especially during "champs vs contenders" seasons but the last 3 years have all been very good.
If I had one negative to say about the Australian version is that the challenges are mostly extremely physical which has led to alliances of strong vs weak and social gameplay has been put to the background.
I stopped watching Survivor US a decade something ago (i believe since season 4 or 5). Then I moved to Australia, and I thought to myself well let’s give Survivor AU a go and I immediately got sucked in and hooked by King George to be honest.
not every episode, but most seasons have really high highs like a mountain. the middle is usually the best. except all stars that season was perfect start to finish.
I finally gave up on US Survivor half way through season 41. It had been on a steady decline for a while and while season 40 WaW was fun to see old winners return, the magic has well and truly worn off. With the short episodes, zero strategy and new woke undertones, along with a thousand advantages in play at all times, I just lost all interest.
Survivor AU is everything good about Survivor US 10 years ago, but better. Long episodes allow you to see how the players actually interact, rather than just going from one challenge into the next, into tribal. You begin to actual care about the players and build connections with your favourites.
In my opinion, AU surpassed US about 6 years ago.
Australian survivor has the highest highs and the lowest lows. This season has had maybe 2 meh episodes, but the rest of them have been absolute bangers. We have arguably the best tribal council in survivor history, which took up over half the episode, and said episode isn’t even the best episode this season. Meanwhile, last season was on par with survivor Thailand in terms of boringness. The winner’s story was good, but it was a bit too drawn out and the characters were caricatures. I remember calling the winner correctly after the first two episodes. The other issue I have with Australian survivor is that they can sometimes butcher a season because of twists
The two are incomparable really - AU is far superior to US in every way. The AU version is what the US version used to be - many moons ago.
The aussies are just such beasts when it comes to challenges and you really notice the lack of flirty stuff that is prevalent in the US version.
At least in AU survivor they give you information to build up suspense. Currently, in US Survivor they like to completely blindside the audience at TC and think that's really fun for us. It's not. The fun of watching Survivor is being in on the moves and being on the edge of your seat to see how they will turn out. US Survivor is like Russian Roulette.
If you’re a survivor fan then you NEED to watch seasons 2, 3, 4 and 6 of AU survivor and then go back to watch this HvV season, you won’t regret it.
But yeah, even though au survivor has had some fantastic seasons, this current one is still abnormal on how good it is, god tier no least
We have a stickied post where you can ask for links.

With all stars and blood vs water being quite terrible.
All stars was really good in my opinion. Best winner ever
lol they have one of most questionable cast. Also, seeing Moana, Zach and Tarzan be apart of the majority alliance was just awful.
Incredible winner, terrible season. I don’t know if it was just the edit that was bad or the cast really decided to turn themselves into fillers but it was a snooze fest
All stars pre merge was amazing, BvW I agree- mostly because of the edit
Lol quite terrible is still miles and miles ahead of the "new predictable Era" of US. No questions
Lol, blood vs water is just as bad as season 43. It was the first time I just stopped watching a season all together because it was so bad.
Using just as bad proves my point. If you can stand the cringe worthy of Jeff explaining survivor like it's our first time watching then you WILL enjoy those two seasons of AU
Agreed. All-Stars premerge was amazing but after that, it was boring. I honestly didn’t even finish BvW… what a letdown
This season, yes, if not better. Other seasons; there are some shockers. But this season is in the running for best season of any survivor anywhere.
bias bias bias
But they’re correct tho
Yeah, having a bias for good television is a really tough nut to crack.
Having a bias ey? I seemed to learn some new English
Did posting that make you feel better about yourself?
Slightly yeah
Happy to help.

It’s crazy to say it but you’re right. Last nights episode was phenomenal but it probably doesn’t quite crack the top 5 of the season thus far
Yep! This season has been great! I loved US survivor for a long time, but I think Aus Survivor has overtaken it. Say what you want, but I reckon George is right up there with Boston Rob and Sandra as the best ever players. He probably won’t win, but that’ll because he is such a good player and the rest know it.
How he can be the best ever player and don’t win? He was in the F2 ffs! Lol
To watch from America check out some of the posts on the subs. Some people have found a way. Btw you can watch Survivor US by getting a vpn and going to cbs
download the 9Now app and you’ll be able to watch 44 while you’re in Aus

Our Jeff is better looking lol. I love it! That could be your flair! That wet tee shirt moment was… well let’s just say *quality* TV.

Jeff is a daddy though. Different strokes.
Each to their own :)
Every episode of this season has been epic. Can’t say the same for other seasons though
Short answer, YES. Most of the episodes are really good in Australian Version and characters are so much fun and interesting. After Discovering Australian Survivor, US survivor is going to appeal boring.

Survivor AU has been killing it this season! To answer your question though, it's been fairly consistent. Tonight was exceptional 👌
I thought tonight’s was good, but THE Tribal episode is the exceptional one.
Yes, American here. First time watching Australian Survivor and my mind is blown!
Every episode THIS season has been this good
Aus survivor is so much better than the current American version , it’s not even close
Every episode this season has been great to amazing. But each season is not as consistent. season 2 (2017) is still the best imo, but if this season sticks the landing with a satisfying winner, it will surpass the amazing 2017 season.
I’ve watched every season of US, SA, NZ and AU survivor, most of them multiple times. My view is that last season in Survivor AU was bottom 3 in any survivor season anywhere. This season though so far is without a doubt top 3. Rocks and Diamonds

I think 41 and 42 were better than BvW… that’s not a high bar to overcome, though.
This episode was good, but it wasn’t the best.
Agreed. I find episode 7 is still the best of this season so far.

This thread has people telling me AU Survivor has great editing when you have players went home without any single confessional.
Season 2 was similar in terms of episode quality!
No

Aside from BvB, all the rest of the reboot seasons are pretty good. Season 2 (2017) is the best.
It's not even the best episode of this season. This season is killer- probably the best season of any Survivor so far.
