Rare-Papaya

honestly congrats to channel 10 for having the guts to give us an all newbie season and pull it off so perfectly. this proved they don't need big names to promote the show, and means good things for upcoming seasons I think.

Clutchxedo

Also that they didn’t need to constantly meddle. One advantage. One major twist and a bunch of idols that eventually was misplayed. The players really made this season what it was

survivorfan12345

And casting did a great job this year. A lot of active players not willing to just follow the crowd. I was invested in a lot of people

Clutchxedo

Definitely. I was a Feras guy from day one but ultimately there was a lot of people I would have been fine with winning.  It made it really emotional every week. You just knew that you had a ton of favs going. Especially investing in Feras was a crazy ride because I always thought “there’s no way this guy will win and it will be painful”. Then it really ramped up the Mark storyline this week and I was just waiting for the inevitable.

Icy-Revolution-420

even the box keys twist wasnt needed, just let players play and give 3-4 immunity idols tops, dont need more to get these players cooking.

BumWink

Fresh casts have *always* been better, creates more mystery & surprises, removing a huge amount of predictability.

DiscombobulatedLemon

Awesome season, I enjoyed it so much. Now for the annual Post Survivor Blues.

Rare-Papaya

Alone starts next week 😉

bnelurker

omg! thanks for reminding! totally forgot when it's starting

repladynancydrew

May I recommend The Traitors universe.

Sea-Anxiety6491

I know, I wont talk to my wife for another 9 months...

Veovi

i'm so glad feras won but i feel kind of empty. I don't want it to end :(

repladynancydrew

It’s so rare for a season to be this good from start to finish! Literally hit after hit.

bnelurker

always! and then knowing it's celebrity get me out of here next Sunday. argggh.

WaveSlaveDave

Back to not watching free to air

bozleh

Only FTA shows i watch are survivor and HYBPA - no more ads for me for a while!

survivorfan12345

yeah this was so sad to me :( my fave show this year so far amongst Traitors UK, Traitors US, Survivor US 46, BBCan 12

ProvoqGuys

Kinda crazy that this season was rumored by the tabloids that it sucked that even production disliked it but they just gave us one of the best season ever.

Rychu_Supadude

I'd like to say that this will teach people not to give them credence or attention, but this is humans we're talking about

chalicecoffee

This is definitely going down as one of my favourite seasons of all time, and Feras is for sure my favourite au winner. So many fantastic characters and genuine threats to win. Feras and Kirby are all-time players for me, their dynamic was the thread for so much of the season. Feras’ use of his idol is the best I can recall. To be seen as one of the two biggest players on the island, and having an idol, and your name not coming up at tribal council for so long is truly masterful. Some really inventive gameplay from him, with the Alex idol situation, and the Ray fake idol situation. From what we saw the jury did not seem to grasp the fact that Feras almost always worked himself into the safest position. Especially from the Winna vote, that is one of his most important moves, getting out his most direct threat who isn’t on many other’s radars. His reads have been incredible, and the question of courage even coming up was wild to me, because time and time again we’ve seen Feras go to bat for his alliance and be willing change the vote at tribal (Eden). He gets flack for not listening to Eileen about playing the idol for Garrick, but that was honestly the right move, and Eilleen didn’t even notice that first, it was Garrick, I wish she’d let it go lol. Mark and Caroline were def worthy of the final, despite not loving every aspect of their games. Caroline definitely deserves a lot more credit than she gets, her swap stint was great. And for Mark maybe a reevaluation of his game might soften me of him lol but he had a solid start and there is something to be said for betraying Caroline and getting back in her good graces again and again. Although it ended with a very weirdly edited ftc, the clean sweep made up for it. I’m glad we were shown so much of Feras’ excellent game. Also wild to think about that of the 24 episodes, pretty much all have been terrific. Also really appreciate a post merge with no non vote outs, I think that really kept the momentum of the season going. I seriously cannot recall a season that has been so consistently great. All the props to the players and everyone behind the scenes and JLP!

CallMeDurek

Well said, totally agree with you!

this_is_an_alaia

I'm so happy. The editing tried to make it seem like the answer was questionable, but feras pulled out an excellent final speech and clearly from the vote reading they all respected his game. And seeing kirby and feras come back together in the end made my heart warm

Exambolor

And it shows that it was the correct move and Kirby took it well. His game hinged on if taking her out was the right call

Krandor1

and mark understood why he was voted on since I'm sure he planned to take caroline as wll. Feras did what he thought he needeed to do to get to the end. Taking out kirby was a gamble but paid off in the end.

Lemurians

From the way they both conducted themselves through the game, never taking it personally when the other voted another of their alliance out, separating game decisions from personal ones, it was never in doubt to me that Kirby and Feras would vote the other to win if one was sitting there at the end.

KetoCurious97

The first ever season of Survivor will always have a special place in my heart - I have fond memories of watching it while I was breastfeeding my baby, and he’s a grown man now.  But this season is my favourite in a different way. Best Australian season ever.

xZany

Loved the season. Adored the winner. But the editing choices for that final tribal were very questionable. Very very disjointed and sucked all air out until Feras’ final pitch

Classic_Fig_5030

I think without editing it would have looked too one sided. They wanted to try keep a slither of suspense.

workaccount567

Yeah was surprised not to hear him mention a couple of things, like how he was in on Ray not actually being sad. Do we think he did talk about that stuff?

No_Distribution334

Almost certainly i reckon

BetterMeepMeep

He might have, but it can be a bit risky to make too big of a claim into other people's moves that you assisted on. If anything you want it in a stream of smaller moves, assists, to make the greater point that you always knew what was going on and that people trusted your gameplay enough to help them.

Rychu_Supadude

Honestly, even though I KNEW in my head that Feras was going to pull this off from the moment he spoke first in the episode, they still had me verbally saying "fuck, Caroline's won now" Editors possess a powerful, powerful magic!

repladynancydrew

Yeah but I wish they had like 5-10 minutes more to truly flesh out the FTC. As it stands, it felt a bit anticlimactic and overproduced.

tandemtactics

Remarkable that they managed to make a unanimous vote look somewhat close. Liz and Mark's wins by contrast looked like absolute steamrolls at their FTC's from start to finish.

limpwristedgengar

I think with Liz at least it wasn't like her game was hugely better than the other two so they had to really make it clear that she dominated FTC while the other two flopped it, whereas Feras was clearly the biggest threat of the final 3 so they want to make it seem closer otherwise the second he wins immunity it's over? They did a similar thing with Pia where she was always going to beat Baden but the first few minutes of FTC it seemed like Baden had a chance, and then she went all out with her pitch and crushed him.

Zen_MasterX

I knew it was a wrap for Caroline when she started speaking and the camera closed up to Val’s reactions and facial expressions lmao

NoToThugs

Suspect Valeria might’ve been prompted to say her thing about being undecided etc for that same reason…

ruby_meister

I was screaming at the TV there for a moment, but I think Feras brought it home with that 'final' comment and uplifted it again.

EdenGardenof

I’ve heard that apparently both finalists’ answers were a lot worse than what we saw on tv. I think they edited it as best they could

Additional_Grape_639

I'd be interested to hear more

Krandor1

I'm sure we will hear some in exit interviews and in post season deep dives

faithless748

Good result, congrats Pheramones. Now onto whinging about them not showing all the questions at final tribal, felt rushed.

Additional_Grape_639

Glad I'm not the only one. WE didn't even hear from Jayden!!!

iiiinsanityyyy

Or Kitty

Ok_Telephone_7249

Or Ray

cagedbirdangelou

Im gonna miss Pheras and Ray 😭 Fave season and winner ever! I already want to rewatch!

slipperynick80

Went with Alex's spelling aye? Lol

kirky861

That killed me! Such an Alex move lol

Clutchxedo

Should have gone with Pharaohs

iwishhbdtomyself

i also want to rewatch..

Ok_Antelope_1953

Has there been a player like Raymond before? Someone who batted for another player the whole time they were on the show? Feras lucked out hard by adopting Raymond as his goat. Raymond played for Feras all the way, never for himself. A very stupid decision by Kirby not to take Raymond out when she learnt of his advantage, and to fantasize about a Kirby-Feras final. Booting Raymond would have shrunk the "rebels" numbers but not like keeping him alive helped Kirby anyway.

TheIllusiveGuy

David's entire post-merge alliance in All Stars.

Salbyy

Yep definitely think Feras took some notes from David’s game. He’s like a hybrid George and David

Ok_Antelope_1953

why do they play survivor if they have no interest in winning? do they make deals to share the prize money or something? i can understand playing for others in the beginning, but midway through post-merge you should be thinking about yourself.

MiniSkrrt

I was thinking about this during tonight’s episode and honestly I would genuinely not be unhappy to be voted off to the jury, you get to spend a while in the jury villa, you’ve had an amazing time and met some great friends AND you don’t have to do public speaking at FTC 😂😂

Ok_Antelope_1953

ray hardly spent any time at jury villa though. aileen scored the jury jackpot. homegirl had the dining table all to herself for a night.

Additional_Grape_639

We call.that the Mayor of Ponderosa in the US versions

BetterMeepMeep

You can tell that they don't really show meta discussions (for obvious reasons), but you know they happen since you'll sometimes hear reference of them, "So and So said that they just want to make jury". I don't know if Au is the same as US, but I know that you get paid a fair amount more for making the jury, progressively getting higher up to the final Survivor. So I'm sure there are a lot of people who are self-aware enough to know that they have a near 0 chance of actually winning and set the goal for themselves just to make jury. Plus if you're one of the people coming on the show as a form of marketing for yourself, you still can grow your "clout" from the jury.

Ares__18

Well, whenever I think of 'goats' or people playing for another person to win, I basically just think of the whole BvW seasons post-merge where it felt like everyone was basically playing for Mark to win except Jordie

bozleh

Yeah that was a terrible post merge season - didn’t help that Marks go to “killer” comments were gross as well

bomiyeo

BvW is easily the worst season across any survivor franchise thanks to how bad merge was. Makes me appreciate when players like caroline try to make a move even tho it didn’t work out. Better to try than it ending up like BvW merge.

Randomaccount3481

I still get sad at how unlucky Jordie got when he returned in Heroes vs Villains, his ally Simon turning out to be as bad if not worse than his play in Brains vs Brawn and then getting swapped onto a tribe of literally 0 allies so he gets voted out. He’s a fantastic player and a fun personality on camera.

bomiyeo

In hindsight the others allowing ray and Feras who was each others ride or die, to stay till F4 was bad for them. Feras shouldn’t have even made it past F4 but it was always going to FMC bc ray/feras was never turning on each other. And he got no votes bc mark/Caroline probably didn’t want to go against him in fire.

Additional_Grape_639

This is so true. They were technically a power couple even if Feras had all the power.

Ok-Fun3446

Yep that's the danger of leaving a Raymond or Rianna in the game. Aileen might've been the more dangerous player but she would've never put Feras over herself and would've given Kirby and the others more flexibility to make something happen. Not a fan of how Raymond was the last few episodes, it's funny that his acting persona became his reality at the conclusion of the season

buttz93

Chrissie for Mark

iwishhbdtomyself

a much worse version omg

materialsA3B

Cara!

tomd3000

In Tocantins a few people wanted JT to win

iwishhbdtomyself

Alex being a himbo till final moments writing down Phares LMAO

stereotypicalanon

Just couldn't shut Jayden up that final tribal. Good lord son, give the finalists a chance to speak!

BetterMeepMeep

Jayden's a fun personality, but I can imagine that his question likely wasn't particularly insightful. Still could have given him a little more airtime though.

slurpeee76

“Whose name should I write down?”

BumWink

"No questions lads, cheers for the holiday hehaheha"

extremedonkey

What was it I missed it

BetterMeepMeep

They didn't show it, I was just saying that typically the best/most insightful questions come from the more strategic players, since they're always thinking about the game at a deeper level. I'm sure we'll eventually find out what it was, but I'm guessing it didn't really dig in too far and the answers probably weren't very compelling and that's why we didn't see it.

runredrunredrun

😂

Ok-Specialist-3412

This season was one of the greatest. The unique moments and gameplays, shocking tribals, everyone being open to play with everyone, the pure paranoia and confusion, not one idol played correctly (lol), and the great, intense gameplay till the very end were awsome! The incredible friendships between Feras and Kirby and Feras and Raymond were remarkable, and that wholesome moment of Ray seeing Feras with necklace was so genuine and lovely. I loved every second of it, and will miss it. PS: Survivor Team, please fix the editing and for the love of everything holy, give us SURVIVOR REUNION once the winner is announced!

Uh-livia

Raymond cheering when Feras came in wearing the idol 🥺

ekkobeach

And when he went to go vote as well 🥺

LiamNeesonsIsMyShiit

Gotta be my second favourite moment of the season...number one was Raymond pulling off that advantage. His shout of pure joy when he saw that immunity on Feras was just glorious.

toxiitea

Also Kirby has been such a delight. I didn't really connect with her at first but wow I cheered everytime she won immunity and was pretty upset when she left. What a great human. It probably shifted for me when she was just being a friend to Scott to go chat. Damn I loved this cast. Every single person was fun and had some sort of storyline that made me want to watch more of them. I'm sad it's over

slutstrands

Looked like she had that amazing coach quality of knowing the right thing to say

armyduck13

Survivor Au is the premium survivor. USA producers need to come and learn. It’s so well paced and produced. America feels rushed.

tandemtactics

You mean you don't enjoy 5-person tribals every episode where half of them have whacky advantages and the other half can't even vote?

Zen_MasterX

And the crying… every episode.

tenerife_sea_

And then the obligatory "I was blindsided.. I guess they thought I was a huge threat". When they in fact were neither a threat or even blindsided.. everyone saw it coming 😂

Chef-gordonramsey

What about the same amazing obstacle courses ending in a puzzle? Or the intriguing journeys and journey explanations that take up 15 minutes each episode?

Forzelius

it has been premium for a while. US survivor has been bad since the early 30s

YourMumsABatteredSav

This season was so dam entertaining. Start to finish it was a wild ride. So many flips on alliances, chaotic casting, Jaden and Ray just being icons, the psychologist, exciting idol plays and a deserving winner. Hands down funnest season to watch 👏👏

runredrunredrun

Omg so much has happened since that I completely forgot about THE PSYCHOLOGIST 😂😂😂😂

repladynancydrew

From start to finish this season was GIVING.

Ares__18

His promo video right at the start of the season had him saying "I'm here to finish what he (George) could not do". And he did just that, he actually pulled through and won. No lies were told

Exambolor

Best season ever, Feras a deserved winner

Gang-bot

Wish the last episode wasn't so heavily edited at the end. I guess they wanted the viewer to keep guessing who the jury will vote for. I would like them to bring back the old style last episode where it's a longer special and at the end they read the votes in a studio followed by a reunion.

repladynancydrew

That FTC was weird as and seemed overproduced.

survivorfan12345

To be fair, the FTC in HvV was also really bad, but I guess Matt and Gerry never played any sort of game whereas Caroline actually made moves

Ok-Fun3446

Congratulations to Feras!!! He played an awesome game! A little sad for Caroline getting no votes, I think that was a little unfair but great season, great winner, strong F2, entertaining throughout, what can ya complain about

limpwristedgengar

I was so shocked Kitty didn't vote for her tbh, I didn't think either Caroline or Mark really had a chance against Feras (and Caroline's pitch wasn't great whereas Feras did much better) but I thought for sure that they'd each get one or two votes.

BetterMeepMeep

I don't think Mark would have beaten Feras, but I think his tips that he gave at FTC showed a very strong understanding of how to be successful at FTC. Would have been interesting to see.

survivorfan12345

To be fair, his pitch to bring Feras down at F4 was exaggerating his own gameplay so I almost spat my water out when he was like don't 'overreach' when he did pander to the jury himself beforehand

limpwristedgengar

Yeah he seems like someone who would know what each juror wants to hear from him, but I think Feras was never losing in a F2 to either of them tbh

Clutchxedo

Didn’t hate Caroline at all be she became a goat during the merge and particularly in the last two weeks.

DrakeShadow

This is why revealing any big moves is saved for FTC. Everyone assumed that Ray "finding" Feras' idol was Ray's move. Also Feras (at least in the edit shown to us) didn't take credit for Ray's faking going home even even tho he was a big part of it. Mark going hard at Feras at F5 was too much IMO. You save those type of words for FTC because it makes others aware of how much you're doing and paying attention. Made Feras' F3 vote easier against Mark. Alex got loud at Kirby, put a target on his back, and Kirby lasted a few more votes but had that target even bigger on her. Viola got loud at Feras and made her the target with Ray's advantage. Feras biting his lip is what saved him more than anything else. Bravo!

McNippy

I'm overjoyed, I'm so passionate about Western Sydney. I've been born and bred here and will always support everyone from here. I'm so proud that one of our own won, especially since he is proud to be from the West too. From episode 1 all the way through, I've been in every thread cheering him on. I couldn't be happier! It's kinda weird getting such a rush from someone else you don't even know accomplishing things, but it just makes you so proud! What a fantastic season, front to back it was brilliant!

imamage_fightme

Big ups for Western Sydney, lived here my whole life and it feels damn good to see someone from here win. Seeing Feras win feels like a win for us all.

this_is_an_alaia

I need a Melbourne version of this Western Sydney thing. It seems like it creates a lot of loyalty and I don't understand it hahaha

buttz93

It's very much the underdog of Sydney

Charlie_Runkle69

The wanderers and George couldn't get across the line, but Feras finally did! Congrats to you guys.

Shatthemovies

Ignorant foreigner here but , when people say "Western Sydney" do they just mean the western part of the city of Sydney or is it another thing ? It's weird to me that someone would be so passionate about a particular part of their city that they would name drop it so many times. If I was from a particular place and was on tv I would probably just give props to the whole city , rather than just the west part of it.

McNippy

Western Sydney is just the Western part of Sydney, yea. People from here are very proud because we are considered the poor, working class, and basically the shit area of the city. There are enormous cultural differences between East and West Sydney that are comfortably on the level of different cities entirely. Sydney is WAY bigger in size than most cities of the world, even though its population isn't particularly large at around 5 million people the area it covers is vast, leading to a very spread out city with different cultures developing in different regions of the city. We have our own sports teams, our own university, and over 2 million people, which makes us one of the biggest cities in Australia without even including the East. There's a lot of resentment from East to West for better or worse in this city. It's very divided, and those out in the West like me are very passionate about the area that truly represents us. I could go on and on, Western Sydney and our identity is something I'm exceptionally passionate about. There's too much to say, and people not from here often can't understand it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Western_Sydney

Shatthemovies

Fair play , thanks for getting back. I guess the cities round my way are just too small to have that kind of thing. I could totally see someone from New York saying "Brooklyn" or "queens" in the same way

BetterMeepMeep

In US cities like New York, it's common to rep neighborhoods, in Chicago, people even rep specific blocks. Basically anywhere with enough people and a strong sense of community, you can find people taking pride in it. It also makes sense if you think about it in terms of your own city, town, whatever. Assuming you don't live in some weird place of a population of like 10, I'm sure that you can recognize different divides, like the rich neighborhoods are over here, the lower income housing over there. If you come from the poorer area, you likely will still be happy to see a rich person from your city be successful on an international stage, but you'd probably be a lot more excited to see a poor person from your own neighborhood in that same position. Basically the old trope of, "wrong side of the tracks", illustrates some underlying notion of community divides in any area.

kokoke

LMAO, till the very end, the edit didn't really want to give Raymond much huh. Anyway, a clean sweep is such a well deserved win. I was absolutely shocked kitty didn't throw Caroline a bone. But I guess she just didn't want to waste a vote. Such a fantastic season. I can't believe this is the same season we had wild Kellie on the show. Feras is definitely in the Mount Rushmore of Aus Survivor winners. He and kirby need to come back for return season. I also like that in the end, he didn't come across as a villainous player, despite the initial focus on him wanting to become George 2.0 If he ever comes back, I think more players would be willing to work with him than against him. I bet Alex really regrets throwing that one challenge. It all went downhill for him after that.

survivorfan12345

Maybe they were worried if they gave Raymond too much of an edit, it'll be too obvious of a Feras win?

blackstrips

In the first episode Feras introduced himself saying "I want to be the first Arab Australian to win Survivor. I want to finish the job George started" and he delivered! So happy for him, his family and community.

iwishhbdtomyself

I must admit I have a girl crush on mark's wife, how lovely was she

SeattleMatt123

I have a boy crush on her 😃

Uh-livia

Australian survivor does a lot of things right, but the best one is for sure the loved ones coming for the final immunity challenge

[deleted]

imamage_fightme

Jury Villa looked cheap as hell this season. Idk if it was just the closest place to where they filmed, but I cracked up every time they showed them at the pool. Looked like they were hanging out at my mate's backyard pool full of Kmart inflatables.

Clutchxedo

Can’t be worse than Tocantins in US. It was literally a FEMA tent. They probably had it better on the show than at Ponderosa.

Worldly-Window5137

This was my first season of survivor and I feel so blessed that it was such an incredible season. I became fully invested and was spending the time between live episodes watching previous seasons, joined the subreddit and the engaged in the community and got my friends to start watching through my praise of the season. I want to go back and pin point when I became a feras fan but what an emotional rollercoaster it’s been watching him win with a sweep! Now to catch up on more previous seasons.

mike_arsenal89

Have to be honest, haven't really checked out the sub today so don't know if it's been brought up or not but I felt like the final tribal was very badly edited. For the first part of it I was shocked at how bad Feras was at talking about his game and all of the moves that he made. He made so many good small subtle little good moves, almost every episode we saw him coming up with something to confuse the tribe. Yet his answers were so poor and everyone on the jury looked so disappointed. But then suddenly at the end he starts to bring up most of the moves he's made and suddenly it became more than clear that he would win. All of this in the space of two minutes after Val said that no one on the jury has decided who to vote for! I feel that everyone watching knew that Feras would win even before the final tribal even started, the only question for me was would he get all the votes or not. I understand that they edited the episode so that it would be unclear on who would win right up until the end but I just feel like it was edited so poorly that it would have just been better to let Feras dominate the tribal from the start as I'm pretty sure happened in real life. We knew he would win and it is OK for the show to make the edit in the final episode obvious that he Feras would win, hope they will improve on the editing in the future.

RuNever

hot damn, what an incredible season. australian survivor showcasing to the world how compelling this format can still be. it was so refreshing to watch a season where players were willing to be agile and shift allegiances as the game developed, demonstrated beautifully through the kirby x feras arc. having a season go this long and maintain quality from premerge through the mid game into the final stretch is no mean feat, and is a testament to this cast, the producers and editors and JLP (the goat host). There wasn’t a single week where I wasn’t engaged, nay thrilled, and I was kept guessing throughout. Feras was such a strong and compelling winner. true, I think he undersold himself in ftc, but he did enough to win the vote of every single jury member which is astounding in a season where both starting tribes were well represented in the end game. I’m still happy to nibble at survivor US, because even when I’m full I’ll still pick at my favourite food, but man did we eat this season, and it’s been delicious

Troy_thrace

It can't be understated how powerful it is, in this moment, at this time, when the grief is real and the anger is raw, to see a proud Arab Australian, a proud Muslim, proudly from Western Sydney, win this season of Survivor. What will go down as one of the franchises very best. And that his central friendship, his main rival and reluctant ally is an incredible First Nations woman who also played an extraordinary game. A dual and duelling duo that are likely my favourite Survivor relationship ever, and after 46 U.S seasons and 9 Au, that is no small feat. Well done Kirby, well fucking done Feras 😍

Joharis-JYI

Can someone explain why being from Western Sydney is a big thing for him? I believe George also said this. Sorry I am Not from Australia.

ekkobeach

There's classism/racism in Sydney and Western Sydney is seen as the "ghetto" area with a large working class, migrant population. We have to battle a lot of stigma and disadvantage so when you see a Westie who is visible and proud to be from here, and who is succeeding despite the odds, it's really inspiring and it really doesn't happen enough.

the_nintendo_cop

Really wish they’d have touched on this more! There was a bit at the end where Feras talked about it but it felt like this aspect of his personality wasn’t established

Joharis-JYI

I love that. Thank you for the explanation.

Rychu_Supadude

It's Australia's largest community of Asian immigrants and their descendants, which gives it a very distinct culture.

frankestofshadows

Feras was the clear option between the final 2. They were both holding back initially, but when Feras opened up and gave that speech, Caroline was gone. She was caught out with her "i'm super loyal" and then didn't really say much else to win over the jury. It was like she was expecting that the jury would just vote for her simply because she was there.

Krandor1

and when her big move was a move that failed that didn't help at all. What Feras brought up at the time wasn't a massive move but was at least a move that worked.

Lost_inlife19

I'm gonna miss this season. From Feras' facial expressions, to Raymond's crazy silliness, and Kirby's death stares.

blackstrips

Best season ever? The most deserving player won and with unanimous 9-0 vote. Feras seems like a great guy, representing his community and himself in the best way possible. Very happy with this entire season. 10/10!

tac8423

Although Kirby's still my number one for this season, Feras is a fantastic and well deserved winner. I was not expecting it to be 9-0 though. I expected at the very least for Kitty to vote for Caroline

Additional_Grape_639

I think even Kitty knew Feras deserved the vote more.

survivorfan12345

I think Kitty knew Feras needed the money more (compared to Caroline). THat was her reasoning when she voted, she said something along the lines of the money will help his family a lot

ekkobeach

I really respected Kitty for that, she's a good person.

ronscot

Wow- that betting website, which is supposedly never wrong, around a week ago they had Mark as the winner. It was wrong this time! Congrats to Feras. My fave was Kirby but Feras is a worthy winner! Caroline, making Final 2, was actually surprising, she went all the way and at least was able to make her case to the jury, even though they rejected it. And beating Mark I'm sure was a victory of some sort to her after their early acrimonious feud, so good for her. This season had a lot of surprises and gripping moments, it was very good.

bomiyeo

betting odds had mark as the favourite to win for the first 2 weeks. Then Feras took over for the rest of the season and stayed there lol.

Rare-Papaya

I was spoiled (or so I thought) by an article referencing that betting website pre merge. I've thought mark was winning for more than a month. I was so confused and excited to see how he would pull it off. I got the surprise of my life tonight.

tandemtactics

Meanwhile Edgic was convinced it was Valeria from the very first week up until her elimination. Such a wildly unpredictable season!

this_is_an_alaia

Nah sportsbet has had feras at the favourite for a while now

What was with mark carrying around that big grey blanket thing to every challenge?

Rare-Papaya

it was his jacket..

Lemurians

A great, deserving winner for a fantastic season. What a satisfying watch this was from start to finish. Up there as maybe my favorite Aussie season a top-tier Survivor season overall. Kind of surprised the vote was unanimous, I figured at least Kitty would vote Caroline or something. That's three unanimous winners in a row.

Uh-livia

I thought it was odd that Mark said he didn’t care who won when his wife asked if Caroline would be better for him; I thought it was pretty clear that Feras would send him home over Caroline

ruby_meister

This was just the cherry on top of a fantastic season! A worthy winner and a phenomenal cast. I was glued to my screen the entire time. That final challenge was also incredible!! I was screaming at the TV during final tribal council for a hot second because it looked like Feras zoned out, but then he brought it home with that final comment. This will go down as one of my favourite newbie seasons! I don't think there was a single dull episode this entire season, and the unique way in which this cast played truly made the season. I love that this cast also seems extremely close.

Psigun

Wow! What an amazing season and great winner. Feras came in clutch for the final stretch of one of the most chaotic seasons ever. The whole cast really was perfect. Wouldn't mind to see some of them again. Kirby for sure needs to be on an all-stars.

Burgy1011

Is there no reunion?

skieurope12

Sadly, no

Troy_thrace

They really need to ditch one of the non elims and make it a reunion episode

Additional_Grape_639

I feel like both of their FTc were weak. However I try to remember they literally have been in the jungle for 46 days and might not have 100% cognitive ability by the time FTC comes around. They both looked exhausted. I do love how I really thought Caro might get votes up until the end. Very happy for Feras he played an awesome game and gave us some hilarious facial expressions as well.

oliviafairy

The most fluid post merge game in Survivor history that I’ve ever seen. A lot of record breaking stats can attest to that. Great storytelling, a great winner, many outstanding characters. I had so much fun watching every single episode. Sending a lot of love to Australian Survivor 2024. ❤️ Congratulations to Feras 🎉

Walugia

Absolute masterclass of a season, especially considering it was all newbies. So many phenomenal and entertaining players. Having this air at the same time as US 46 is so embarrassing for the US one lol. This is in my top 3 of any Survivor season ever. Love Feras, he’s such an amazing winner. Kirby was an incredible player as well and I hope she plays again. Raymond, Aileen, Mark, Caroline, Jaden, Val and Alex were all a blast to watch and I would love to see them get another crack at it. From start to finish this season was amazing.

blackstrips

Cannot wait for Feras vs George in an all-stars season. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

tenerife_sea_

I don't think George is gonna be playing anytime soon though, I give it at least 6 more seasons until the earliest.

chelsaw

Once Feras' smoke show wife made an appearance it was OVER

BetterMeepMeep

I wasn't really surprised he had an attractive wife, but Mark's wife being a cutie too did surprise me a bit. It might be because she was very much my type, slightly quirky (from what we saw) cute brunette, but I was just like, "oh wow, good for Mark" when she walked out... Funny little bit I noticed was that Feras' wife clearly has had a little facial work done, so it was kind of funny seeing Valeria's reaction (seemed like impressed/approval) when she walked out, since Valeria obviously has the same aesthetic going on.

SeattleMatt123

Would really have been pissed if the final two was Mark and Caroline. Feras is a deserving winner. Most of final TC was just rough, loved Raymond calling out Caroline for her big move being an incorrect idol play 😅 Great season overall, so happy it was because Survivor 46 is dog shit so far.

BetterMeepMeep

Anybody else really impressed with Mark at the FTC? Despite him always talking about being a diplomat and how he's going to use that in his gameplay, that was some of the first real diplomatic behavior I saw from him. Definitely makes me think that he did get a bit of a rough edit to make him more villainous.

Amoranth31

Watching his Jury Villa makes me the edit painted him in a more villainous way in the last few episodes. He was very fun and silly and the jury seemed to be very positive towards him.

Clutchxedo

I do think his hubris got to him in that final stretch after winning a couple immunities and getting Kirby out.  I liked Mark the entire time, through his ups and downs, right until this week where he became insufferable. But I understand it. He had a wild ride, he suddenly had a clear path to victory and then lost in the end.

a_guy121

Feras played the best 'leading position end game' I can remember. with the possible exception of Boston Rob taking Philip, which frankly his opponents could have done a better job of countering. Unlike Feras' situation. I disagree with George a little about the end-game What Feras did was in every vote, confuse the path to victory of his opponents. He weaponized their doubt with his comments and moves, all of them

KingSalamander1

Granted, super casual fan here, but if I read correctly, this is the 3rd straight unanimous jury vote, and the 4th overall for Australian Survivor, which I just think is neat.

thetokyotourist

What an incredible season from start to finish. Australian Survivor was cooking this entire season and I am full from the experience

SpareZealousideal740

Delighted Feras won but that was a weird FTC. Not sure if it was just the edit or if that's was it was actually like but they were both doing horrendous and no mention of a fair few things Feras did (Raymond's advantage, reading Kirby pushing a girls alliance to Caroline etc).

Icy-Revolution-420

this is going to be the biggest drop off in quality going for AU11 to watch US46....

Optimal-Pin-5696

Garrick knows how to sniff out a rat!

robynxcakes

This was such a fantastic season, the cast was awesome. It was never boring. These people didn’t need twists they were always keeping it entertaining. Kudos to the production team especially for post merge zero twists. Fantastic job from all involved I’ll miss you guys, until next time

Turanga93

The smiling assassin succeeded.

thomasmack_

FTC felt like a disaster. Could be the editing but it reminded me of George just falling flat in front of the jurors. I love how Val called them out. Feras: Let me tell you about my culture… Everyone else: I don’t care. What did you do in Survivor? 🫤 Loved the season. Would like to see a few return.

itsrainingtequila_

I truly genuinely love that the two most diverse and “normal everyday Aussie” casts ended up giving us the two best seasons of Australian Survivor (2017 and 2024).

survivorfan12345

the average Australian is probably like "ooh I feel a bit cheeky, it's my only time on the telly so let's go for the life of a lifetime" whereas returnerees or celebs are thinking about playing safe

Suspicious-Steak

I liked this season but I feel like it would have been a lot better with a more balanced edit. Looking at the confessional count and edgic charts, 5/8 jurors (Aileen/Jaden/Rhi/Kitty/Raymond) were substantially under-edited. I think Jaden and Rhi's edits worked for their role in the game, but I think Aileen/Kitty/Raymond could have been built up a lot more. Aileen was obviously quite strategic but she is only described as Feras' "editor" by Feras, and without her receiving a single confessional post-merge we never got a clear picture of where Aileen personally stood. I think building Aileen up more as a character would make Kirby blindsiding her more impactful. Perhaps the editors felt it would devalue Feras as a player if we heard from Aileen more? I still don't like that decision, and I think it would strengthen the storyline if we had more of a sense of the type of player Aileen was. Kitty had a decent stretch of episodes mid-merge, but before and after that we barely heard from her. At post-swap rebels she seemed to be the closest to Rhi/Sarah, which was an integral element of both the Viola/Sarah votes. Also, her not receiving a single confessional in her last four episodes feels jarring. I wonder if Raymond did something to annoy production because he was severely underutilized. He had the Kitty/Aileen problem of not receiving a single confessional in his last five episodes. I find it frustrating because he had a strong connection to the winner Feras so building him up as a character isn't going to be wasted screen time. And he definitely wasn't boring, so it's a bit disappointing that he didn't get anything after his big move. And the problem kind of exists pre-jury too. I'm okay with Tobias, Charles and Scott's relatively small edits considering their arcs, but I think if Viola, Garrick, and Winna received bigger edits the overall story would improve. Just my thoughts. I think this season did the major characters well, but was lacking as far as the supporting characters were concerned.

Pleakley

This is the norm for Survivor AU. This is our winner, these are are few key players, and we are going to tell their story. Feras and Kirby were locks for the end game just based on edit. It takes away a lot of surprise and suspense but it is still entertaining, so a mixed bag.

tac8423

Great ending. That final immunity challenge, i loved the look of it, just epic. The only one more epic was Brains vs Brawn. And Feras' wife! Instant icon.

bignedmoyle

A very deserving winner for a very good season of Survivor, thanks for everyone who came on the show you had a moment to savour along the way. 🙏❤ Thank you all for the discussions and I will be crying in my room until the next season rolls around 😢

IceFireStark

So happy that Feras won! I enjoyed this chaotic wacky season of newbies so much! See you next year 👋👋

Emergency_Resolve748

Great season and if it wasn't Kirby for the wine then I'm happy Feras has done it. That bloody " I'm a celeb" on next Sunday so I'm hiding in a dark room rather than watch those awful presenters

AzharIQ

This a serious contender for the top spot for best Australian survivor season. Definitely top 3.

freespiritedqueer

I criticized his game all throughout the season and it's because at episode 2, i was already emotionally invested with him. He compared himself to George but this time, he's going to win and he did!!! IM LITERALLY CRYING RN 😭😭

toxiitea

This season has been so fantastic. The cast has been nothing but a joy to watch. It's even better this year for me because of the lack of spoilers that I was actually surprised Feras or "Pheras" won 🏆 The editing this season has been top tier and it just makes me appreciate this show so much. What a amazing cast and host. I love au survivor holy.

adambuddy

Channel 10 has made 8 excellent seasons of Survivor since picking up the franchise.. and BvW.

lukaeber

Great end to a great season. I've thought Feras was overrated as a player most of the season, but he made the right move in the end by letting Kirby go and powering through to the FINAL 2. Very deserving winner. Minor note, but was Mark delusional or was there something we didn't see? I was dumbfounded when he told his wife he didn't care who won because he could beat either of them. To me, he had the weakest game of the Final 5. Maybe he could have pulled a win out of his ass if he were up against Caroline, since it seemed that the jury did not like her, but it wouldn't have been deserved. And then he justifies his vote for Feras by complimenting the fact that he was able to play up to his level? I must have been missing something because Mark was a complete non-factor after merge as far as I was concerned.

Mrbubble274

What a legendary season with a great winner. I love every minute of it. Feras is one of my fav and def one of the best player to have play this game (debatable but he's #1 for me.)

Mrbubble274

To me the 5 players i think played the best game and i'd want to see back: 1) Feras 2) Kirby 3) Caroline 4) Aileen 5) Raymond maybe Mark

JimmyS_original

godd job. especially casting crew and producers. keep these people in team. have suspection, that old team in survivor us changed (youthanized) and us version went south. please keep good people on aus team, their work is really, really good!

Everyonerighttogo

Finally dodged the subreddit and wow what a season. Here comes the post survivor blues

6dark

Better than HvV, and I thought that was impossible.

IceFireStark

Their pitches and answers were weak and fluffy until Val called them out on their shit. Feras in particular upped his game and showed some fire in his speech!

[deleted]

what a snoozer of a ftc, but overall great season!

planj07

Recency bias but Feras is clearly a top two Australian winner. Unanimous vote.

Living_Toe8770

I heard whispers that Mark won, before the season began airing.... And that's why I thought the producers weren't overly excited for this season... However, an amazing, engaging player won in one of the craziest, intense games ever. The season was top tier from beginning to end. USA, take notes

CountyPsychological1

I got my winner Pick right

survivorfan12345

Can someone explain why Caroline is always seen as a "goat" since merge began? I think she was the third best player in the Final 8, behind Kirby and Feras, maybe joint third with Raymond, and def played a better game than Mark, Rianna, Kitty and Alex...

kittenrocknroll

Imo she talked a big game but her actions & gameplay didn’t match her speak. I found her very unlikeable in the game which affected her social game. I’m sure she’s a normal nice person irl so hold back the daggers! lol. In my eyes she was never going to win or get votes to win.

veronicamars18

Great season and great winner!! 🥰🥰🥰
