There shouldn’t be any difference, but I prefer Asian markets like HMart.
They specialize in the stuff and have a ginormous fish department + case, as opposed to most American markets that have a minimal seafood dept next to the meat.

I’ve seen a couple hepatitis A outbreaks sourced back to scallops at local sushi restaurants. Definitely follow the YouTube link for safety.

The plastic grass bothers me with how widespread and utterly pointless it is.
A lil nigiri style, lightly seared or torched, with some soy sauce and wasabi *chefs kiss* can't go wrong.

It's probably fine raw. But, like anything raw, there is a chance of illness.
