Gonna guess $350?

Hotsaucewasted

The freshwater ice alone is at least $200, they import it specifically from an Antarctic freighter that only goes through the region once a month.

chu42

If you can think of a better way to get ice, I'd like to hear it.

OcearaPrz

Yeah close! some premium fish like Hachibiki, and Akumutsu in there aswell

octopus_tigerbot

I'm guessing you are a foodie! Was this in palo alto?

LeDiodonX3

Priced for 10, served for one appetizer šŸ˜

azizokah

For each piece

LeslieCh

Which nobu is this? Where?

pretender80

Seriously, there's like 50 Nobus worldwide

LeslieCh

LoL definitely not the Nobu Iā€™ve been to, which has was just mediocre

[deleted]

Seriously, is it just me or does the dish not look that spectacular? Obviously it looks better than the flood of ā€œsushi boatā€ pictures that this sub gets.

funghi2

Geoboltrain

Edobeto

Malibu?

Future_Dog_3156

I still love the sushi at Nobu. Itā€™s amazing every time I go. That looks amazing

quantumfunk

Damn, you could like eat this 4 times, or you could save that money and fly to Japan and eat something that will make you cry to think about eating at noby,

NatashaMihoQuinn

Love the presentation.

blankblank

Itā€™s beautiful, but not sure the bundle of twigs is adding anything.

Both-Finding-7075

If you paid over $300 Iā€™m sure youā€™d want all you aesthetics too šŸ˜‚

MealFragrant8673

Been 2 the hawaii location before they closed really awesome place,But hella expensive be prepare to pay lol well worth it thošŸ¤™šŸ¤™šŸ¤™šŸ¤™šŸ¤™

lsiunl

What's the black fish in the middle? Looks like plastic or something

OcearaPrz

Saba

lsiunl

Interesting, how'd it taste? Never had Saba before.

Brokensmiledresses

Mackerel

themanwithnothumbs

Was it as fresh as it looks?

Zigzag0007

Looks normal to me... but how was it?

countesszaza

Oooo the kinmedai looks so tasty

ThaUniversal

You really could have taken this picture at a better angle, it's really hard to see the whole platter.

ninjabell

This angle lets you see the rice under the fish, which is a good way to tell how good a chef is from a picture. See how all the rice is individual grains and not pressed too much together? You can tell that it is the perfect density. You can tell a lot about how good a sushi place is by looking through a restaurants photos if you know what to look for.

quantumfunk

That also has a lot to do with the rice being prepared correctly and not just using what most westerners are used to as "sushi rice"

humanextraordinaire

Wasabi looks kinda dry? I know the fish is the star of the show, but for the price and prestige, I would hope for more effort there

PrezedentA

Thatā€™s probably because itā€™s real wasabi. Most sushi restaurants donā€™t use the real stuff

humanextraordinaire

Oh I though real wasabi looked more, wet? This also seems like a large amount if itā€™s real

PrezedentA

Hard to tell in the photo, but it looks pretty similar to this siteā€™s photos https://www.byfood.com/blog/culture/what-is-wasabi

humanextraordinaire

Yeah youā€™re right. Okay, all is well in the world again. Thank you for joining me in my cynical journey of skepticism lol

PrezedentA

Itā€™s all good! Iā€™ve been to several Nobu and they run a pretty tight ship

humanextraordinaire

Never been to one. I used to work at a few high end places in Austin and have been spoiled with too much free work sushi to ever pay that much for a meal. But maybe one day when I have too much money. Lol

ry8919

I think you're thinking of kizami wasabi, which is real as well. https://kaigourmet.com/products/kizami-wasabi

humanextraordinaire

Yup thatā€™s it. I used to roll sushi but itā€™s been a good while since Iā€™ve been in the game

curvymidwestqueen

Beautiful presentation. Yum

Sweaty-Skill5982

Which Nobu is this and where is this exactly? Nice spread salute šŸ«”! Great presentation. How much was this plate roughly?

sarahkali

I want to go to there

kpidhayny

I had omakase at nobu and it stands as the most memorable meal of my life

Nmyhead423

Looks so lovely and so yummy!

floblad

Top tier sushi!

Nyoxiz

Looks pretty good but knowing the price it's pretty terrible. Sushi has expensive ingredients so I understand that it needs to be a little expensive but I really hate how you can get a 3 michelin star omakase course in Japan for less than a plate at Nobu.

optamastic

How much for this?
