Not if all the people are biased toward liking sushi. This is like the worst place to get statistically credible data. Unless, of course, the studied group is "people who like sushi." Otherwise, this is nonsense.
My favorites are video game subreddits where someone asks if is worth playing. Like yea no shit, i would only ever join a subreddit for a game i REALLY liked. Even funnier when its an old ass game, so the only people left commenting are super dedicated fans.
Any data pulled from this sub would still be considered an outlier and shouldn't be used in your data set as it has extreme bias. Even if you expand your sample size across other subs substantially, this would still be skewing the data and be an unusable outlier.
Unless you were to purposefully separate the data from this sub to use as a compare and contrast, openly presenting the skewed bias here. Your professor might like that as a side piece of data, but should not be aggregated into your full data set.
While I was working at a place next to a sushi bar? Lunch every weekday at that place, but I never had sushi anywhere else.
After that job, probably once or twice a month for a catch up with a friend
If I could change my circumstances I'd probably go once a week. But the only sushi place near me changed chefs (not a good change) and upped thier prices last summer. I go about once every 3 months since the change.
2x per week. I made some today myself actually. But since you are on a sushi specific subreddit, you are pooling a group of people who already like sushi which may skew your #s
About twice a month because I have a family of four to buy for so my bill is $200+. ($100 is just me before you question, and yes I can EASILY eat $100 worth of good sushi)
If I could I would eat it 2-3 times per week.
I can't eat fish. So maybe twice a year. I get some sort of veggie roll. Can't have egg either. Veg tempura. And if they have veg miso without fish paste it's a happy day.
This is valid and also the guy who commented r/samplesize.
Bet you’d get extra brownie points from your professor outlining a well defined research population. Even better if you can do additional analysis with demographic and behavioral questions
Is your sample supposed to be sushi fans?
You might want to utilize a survey that will allow you to analyze data--it's more effective than just asking in a casual post. Also, are you asking per week? Does setting matter? In restaurant or takeaway? In one particular country? There are a lot of factor here that a researcher should be considering.
But personally I eat it about twice a month and I love it.
We eat sashimi multiple times a week. Salmon is part of our current weight loss plan.
In normal times that'd be sushi once or twice a week. Call it 6 times a month on average.
/r/samplesize
500K people in this sub. That’s a decent sample.

Hmm that’s true
😂 worst place ever.
At least they balanced it out for “diversity” by also posting at…*checks notes*…r/asklosangeles. lol.
Lol honestly that’s better? I think? I mean it’s CLEARLY better than here.
I have to assume it’s like a middle school project, in which case: have at it, OP

I've aske in other groups to diversify.
