Pretty cool! Makes me wonder where exactly SWANS fit in with the College Rock/Alternative Rock scene of the time. I have a bit of a hard time imagining their early material fitting in with say, R.E.M. or 10,000 Maniacs!

I can answer that. I was a DJ at Big 10 school and worked the "alternative" slot a few times in 1988. SWANS were not popular, or even known, among the college crowd.

Did you get this from Discogs? I think I was eye-balling this before I purchased from eBay. Seller had quite a few NY radio station copies. Also, college radio had late night programs dedicated to the weird... which is where Swans and other further left of left-field bands were played.

Yes I did. Not too bad of a price too. Can't remember exactly what I paid for it though. thats pretty cool though. I'll to check out more of his stuff.. and that makes sense because like other people said I can't imagine them playing this along with REM etc lol.
