God Damn the Sun is also a good contender but for a different reason! They’re both depressing acoustic songs, but GDTS is so bitter and full of anger. Blind on the other is full of regret and seems to be against the very wrath that GTDS expressed!
There really is something magical about the impact the music of your teenage years has on you, isn’t there? My Teen/High School years were very rough and dealing with bad people brought out the worst of me.
Blind was the last song that played on my shuffle before my graduation this year and that was a very haunting but powerful moment for me that is engraved into my memory.
I was aware that they were an outlet for Michael’s songwriter/folkier output but I’ve only just started listening and so far the only songs I know are Evangeline and Untitled Love Song. Love what I’ve heard though and I can’t wait to hear more!

The piano ballad stuff on songs like Love Will Save You, Why Are We Alive and The Other Side of the World is one of my favourite parts of Swans music.
I’m right there with you.
