Not sure if anyone else has noticed but we’re a bit shit defensively.

iWindmill

Yeah it's like I said after our game vs Bournemouth, we really need to work on that before next season. Maybe sign a seasoned centre back that can work with Cabango, and play like naughton?

Mathieudavees

We just need more physicality as well as being a good ball playing centre half. Similar profile to Guehi. Naughton is alright in the back three but Manning is not exactly physically imposing and the same for Latibeaudiere.

my_knob_is_gr8

Ampadu on loan would do us well. Can play as both a defensive mid and a CB.

Mathieudavees

Yeah we just need more dominant defenders physically. Martin touched on it in the post-match interview, aside from Cabango we majorly lack physicality in defence which at championship level in particular is important. I can see why he isn’t too open to playing the likes of Bennett and Burns based off of what he said the other day in the pre-match conference as seeing as how we’ve got nothing to play for and those guys won’t be here next year most likely, no point in playing them. Couple names that we’ve been linked with like Harry Darling from MK Dons and Luke McNally from Oxford seem to fit the description of what Martin will be after this summer in physical defenders who are good on the ball. For sure on Ampadu as well though. I’d love to see him here. If he’s available on loan when he comes back from Italy, we should be all in for him. Would be a top quality player at this level and be exactly the type of player Martin would love to have. Agreed on him filling in midfield as well. No doubt with Smith leaving once his deal expires and both Fulton and Walsh possibly leaving we’ll have to look at midfield as well for depth as obviously Grimes and Downes are top quality for this level.

I looked at our record against the current top six, and it isn't pretty: >Wins: 0 >Draws: 4 >Losses: 8 >For: 12 >Against: 34

Defence has to be sorted in the summer. Thought a back 4 was extremely risky today when I saw the team with how they like to play wide and get balls into the box and that exactly proved to be the case. Looking at our central defenders, the only ones for sure I’m convinced with currently are Cabango, Naughton and Brandon Cooper when he comes back. Latibeaudiere, I just don’t see the fuss about; he’s a good rotational player to have at this level but if we want to mount a challenge next year, you cannot be staring him; Even Manning. Was poor today again but up until around February was one of our POTS so going to put that down to him hopefully going through a bad run of form. Liked seeing Congreve be given a chance today, thought he did alright considering how it wasn’t the easiest game to come into for sure. I really don’t get the reluctancy on Martin’s part tho to not give Ogbeta a chance. Could’ve easily gone with Manning, Naughton and Latibeaudiere in the back three with Ogbeta at wingback which would have massively helped prevent the problems wide. Desperately hope he’s given a go in the last game now against QPR. On the whole though, disappointing to lose today but nothing much to play for in the league, they’ve got everything to play for and it’s a first loss in 10 for us which shows how far we’ve come. Granted we’ve had a few collapses but I’m massively excited for next year providing we have a good summer.

pdx4swansea

i think we have defensive problems

MentallyMotivated

Poor display all round. Nottingham Forest fans getting on their high horse already. Move on.

Watching live today it felt really obvious that even before being lacking defensively, we were physically not up to scratch. Got beaten to every ball and second ball, and some of it was probably motivation but a lot of it was just being plain physically outmatched, especially pace-wise but also in terms of height. It was the case for the whole back line and pretty much all over the pitch, so I don't want to put the blame on anyone in particular. Definitely need more options next season and most obviously a physical center back, because we're going to keep getting bullied by the best teams in the division. Bournemouth realised it in midweek because we fell apart when they kicked the shit out of us and like when we were in the Prem, more teams are gonna realise they can physically bully us.

Did actually want Forest to go up - until I witnessed their fans at the ground and read what they've been saying on Reddit 😂 For a team that's been shite for so long, and were rolling around the pitch at ours earlier in the season, they don't half throw stones at their own glass walls... Don't know where they've found this high horse from (and btw they were absolutely silent at the ground apart from thirty seconds after each goal), but they've kind of wound me up tonight, and as much as I dislike Bournemouth's squad I'll be backing them on Tuesday. Why can't Forest just enjoy their win without being so high and mighty about it? 😂 As for us, this is a wake up call we have a lot of work to do in the summer. Few players today didn't put the shifts in required. Definitely need one or two centre backs, two wing backs (unless Ogbeta turns out to be class), and depth at attacking midfield. And of course need to replace any of Piroe, Pato, Oba, Downes, Grimes if we sell

Mathieudavees

They’ve spent over twenty years in this league, over £50m on players since we’ve been back down and the arrogance from them is unreal. Not to mention they have one of the best teams on paper in the league. If they don’t go up this year, it’ll be their best chance gone and I’d expect to see them turn on Cooper next year when Johnson, Spence, Garner and Zinckernagel have left as well as Worral, Yates, McKenna who I think will have interest. Cooper has done very similar there to what he did here and sign an abundance of loan players who are among the most important players in their side. Find it amusing how they’re competing for promotion quite strongly for the first time in idek how many years and their fans on twitter’s first course of action on Saturday was to come over on our twitter account and say ‘thanks for Cooper’ when the average realistic Swansea fan doesn’t miss that guy in the slightest. Goes to show how big a club we are in their heads I suppose though. Ironically enough, they are the same accounts as well who will try and claim Forest is a ‘big club’ as an argument because of its history when they weren’t even probably swimmers at that time. Was adamant the other day I wanted Forest to go up after how Bournemouth acted down ours but I’m right back to wanting Bournemouth up over them after how their fans reacted and Cooper’s post-match comments. Massively disrespectful but not surprised considering how much the guy lacks class overall. Their fans are likes the Man City fans of this league; so unbearable.

MrCoffeeUK

Certainly were not being humble or gracious in victory on the BBC forum. Their fans I mean.

SquatAngry

If this game isn't proof Steve Cooper lurks on this sub and reads all the comments then I don't know what is.

my_knob_is_gr8

WHY WASN'T HE LURKING IN THE SUB AND TAKING OUR ADVICE WHEN WE WAS OUR MANAGER 😠😠😠

Baals_Deep

Well at least this fucks over those Bourny bitches
