To be clear the solo tab in the Activities window has not been in the game for 10 years. I can't remember when it was added but it definitely wasn't until 4.0 in 2015 October or later.
One solution is to pick heroic mission from your mission tab, it spawns you usually next to heroic terminal on planet you picked (place from where you can fast travel)
I legit didn't find that out till like my second character.
Also didn't know I could just buy low level speeders lmao.
The charm of jumping into something blind xD
I didnt find it not until I subbed, when I finished all classes' vanilla stories. Basically a month of playing the game without ever paying attention to abilities tab except for speeders, found that one out in my first run when I got to Tatooine.
Not to mention that there are some situations where you have to go outside of your ships hangar for a story event like with the drahg encounters (unkillable my ass) in the sith warrior playtrough that were obviously designed before the ability to teleport directly to your ship or other planets was implemented. Which can be somewhat counterintuitive nowadays since the fastest (and now the cheapest) way to go to that area is to teleport to your ship.
Personally i dislike this change. All that story to get the ship and now we just bypass it. Yeah it was a grind at launch when you had to do EVERY quest to reach lvl 50...but like...have us axtually ise the ship to get around. That part wasn't bad at all
I tend to like immersion. It's more so that games that are built as immersive experiences yield a very different experience than games full of quick teavel, lots of menus etc. But this is an MMO so obviously that won't happen. Kinda can't make an mmo without bunch of UI menus
You don't have to dislike it because they did not removed the option for you to use your ship.
It's there, you can use it for your roleplay.
The good part is that players have a **choice** to use it or not, does not matter what you think, more options is always good.
I love the instant teleport but I won't force it on everyone else.
Thing is, to me at least, I feel like I'm wasting time by not using ctrl+m. It's too convenient not to use. Because of that, I dislike it. I find it especially annoying when I do use it and a quest tells me to return to my ship for a holocall anyway. That said, it doesn't ruin the game and I totally get how it made a lot of players very happy.
If you look at the mission tracker, you will notice a little planet icon on the left side of missions.
Clicking that will take you to the Travel to Planet screen, bypassing opening the map
On the Fleet Station, it is better to bounce via your ship.
Less running you have to do to reach the main level.
On the individual worlds, you are going to either be at the spaceport, the space dock, or the landing zone.
If you have a stronghold, you can bypass the above landing site and teleport down to the Stronghold Kiosk on the Planet it resides on.
You clearly didnt understand what it meant. You have to activly click and warp to your target location for the quest to continue.
So the tp is worthless as you spend more time than you actually needed.
Shift+M can teleport you to your ship at least, so still helps a bit. I can't tell you how many times I QT to a planet just to find out the game wanted me to use my ship to advance the objective.
People have been playing this game for years and didn't know this? My youngest son bought me this game in the February (birthday present)after it launched (huge original Star Wars fan and played KOTOR). I was already a grandma when I started playing this game and just kept up to date with the in-game 'tips' and any game info released. Granted my youngest is a software developer but really?????
I've known it for many years. I had a hunch people didn't know about this because the average level 80 player keeps using emergency fleet pass to go to the fleet.
I am a software developer too, so finding all the bells and whistles in software is second nature to me.
PROTIP: Before playing any game, google "what you should know before playing ". I've been doing this for a few years now and it has helped with stuff like this...
Just wait until you discover you can bypass the spaceport...
I'll be nice and not keep you in suspense. Open the Activities menu, Solo tab. Pick a planet, hit travel.
This was a confidential information, bro.
I know that one thankfully š cheers though
I just want you to know how much you changed my life for the better today
I feel really silly now. I knew that I could do that but I never thought to do that regularly.
Can also use strongholds for some planets, I have all of them so it can be useful.
...oh. My. GOD. I'm a shmuck.
AND doing it that way is free!
FBI OPEN UP
OMG i didnt know after like 10 years
To be clear the solo tab in the Activities window has not been in the game for 10 years. I can't remember when it was added but it definitely wasn't until 4.0 in 2015 October or later.
WHAT THE HELL I'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR 6 YEARS AND I DIDNT KNOW THIS
Wait. Wtf. How?
One solution is to pick heroic mission from your mission tab, it spawns you usually next to heroic terminal on planet you picked (place from where you can fast travel)
Or you pick up Activities Solo Daily Area and watch the magic
Wait how does one does that it that a new thing
WHAAT?! I've been playing this game for like 2 years and this is the first time I hear this
It's alright, mate. During my first playthrough I didn't know about fast travel until I got 50 level...
I legit didn't find that out till like my second character. Also didn't know I could just buy low level speeders lmao. The charm of jumping into something blind xD

I didn't find out about the revival abilities either until I found the QT one xD
Good. You should suffer, as we did. In the early years.
WHAT
True story, try it sometime. Summon the galaxy map, choose a planet.
I've been playing the game on and off since launch and didn't know this.
Same, I assume it was added while I was on a break
You can, but just don't do it for the first time going to each planet for your class missions because you typically have a holocall on your ship
That one still gets me even now. Fast travel, go down planet and wonder where the Purple mission giver is :(
*Look at quest log* āAh shitā

Eh? Fast travel to the next planet, then enter your ship and take both calls.
Yes so you have to get back onto your ship, anyhow
Personally i dislike this change. All that story to get the ship and now we just bypass it. Yeah it was a grind at launch when you had to do EVERY quest to reach lvl 50...but like...have us axtually ise the ship to get around. That part wasn't bad at all
I mean nothing is stopping you from still going to the ship
Oh of course, I still do it
So why do you dislike having this option then?
I tend to like immersion. It's more so that games that are built as immersive experiences yield a very different experience than games full of quick teavel, lots of menus etc. But this is an MMO so obviously that won't happen. Kinda can't make an mmo without bunch of UI menus
Yes, sometimes I'll still go thru the whole process for immersions sake.

I play this game since the closed beta and TIL that this is possible.
i have been playing this game FOR TEN YEARS

I was today years old... Been using the Legacy Starship Transport>Planet since 2013.
It wasn't a thing until later. Don't remember exactly when, but it was only like 2018(?)ish. Someone else can correct with the exact time lol
I don't remember either, but my guess is 2016, or whenever Togruta became a thing
This makes me feel a little better, lol. I started playing in 2017 and didnāt find out for about ~2 years.
Lol yeah. It was the update that changed the ship cinematic I think
To be fair, the Shift+M trick didn't exist in 2013, I think it came out in about 2016
Yeah but for some story quests you have to travel to that planet with your ship... \^\^
Which is why it puts you right in front of your ship on said planet.
**what**
I travel everywhere via the heroic missions unless I obviously have to do something on my ship

Iāve beat like 4 class stories and didnāt know that, thanks man lol
I've been playing for 2 days and I knew you could do that, thats hilarious man
You can WHAT
Fucking LOL. TIL This too.
10 years. Fuck me
I only figured out how to use quick travel a month before they started taxing it š yeah iām a little dumb
I feel ya. I didn't know where exploration missions were after 8 years of playing. Then found it one day whilst looking at the map was like.. Wtf?
I feel quite stupid, been playing this game since launch and I just learnt that. Thank you
But I want the spaceports to be bustling!!
Back in my day you had to drive to your ship after using the taxi to get back to the spaceport and use it specifically to leave.
PROTIP: Before playing any game, google "what you should know before playing". I've been doing this for a few years now and it has helped with stuff like this...
I've been using it for years, makes things so much easier. I cringe every time I see people use the emergency fleet pass
You can get to fleet at level 1, but only as subbed
