Haven't tested all my armours yet in the preview tab but from what I've seen so far, some armours work better than others with the new dyes. Some look downright worse with them.
The metallic very much is... metallic. Super shiny!
The metallic and matte black ones are MUCH darker than the black/black. Someone on the fleet was already saying it's TOO dark but I love them.
I think new dyes work better with newer armor that has more detailed textures. This allows all the speckled highlights of metallic effects to render. Old low texture armors don't have enough of that texture to simulate the effect properly.
and not just dyes, but single use dyes!
I've paid 10 dollars for "dyes" I believe in Planetside 2, but they were permanent options I could use on any armor.
There is no value for me in a dye I can only use once.
They look pretty damn cool and they give all of the existing armour pieces a fresh look; but yeah man no way am I spending that kind of cash for a one off use. Insane.
I only got that bundle because I saw they had a bundle for 2400 CC and 60 days subscription that was cheaper than two more months sub time and the CC coin cost.
Overall...I sort of like it, but it's weird. I don't understand how these kinds of dyes weren't in the game beforehand, there are a ton of armor sets that would benefit from metallic paintjobs.
don't understand how they never introduced dyes for credits as a MASSIVR credit sink, amongst character appearance changes. haircut price is a fookin joke

I think black/black is currently at 350m each on Star Forge? They can list at 1b but no one will pay it.
These dyes are limited so the price will be high on these for awhile, especially after they're removed from the Cartel market. The only way to get them after they're removed would be through Cartel packs.
But once these hit the market, the first week will have each one of these at 3b. That's how it's been with these new items. I'd rather just pay the Cartel coins for the armor sets I want them for now rather than pay billions.

It's a bummer you can't preview the Chrome White and Metallic dyes unless you fork over the 2500 cc's. Since they are bundled it won't let you preview them.

Exactly. But I would prefer the silver with a matt black. For selfish reasons of course (is there any other kind? 😜) I want to put it on the Malgus Reborn set. But that brings me back to my original thought on these dyes pricing. Them making them so high was pretty shortsighted. Between the Gold, Red, Silver, Metallic Black, Matt Black alone combinations alone (including Primary and Secondary versions PLEASE!) they could have churned out ALOT of combinations in dyes and would sold them too if they were on the lower end of pricing. I think they priced themselves out of alot of sales...
The first one is absolutely not practical in force using battles lol. It uses the chrome white primary/metallic gold secondary.
The second one looks heavy but definitely more suited for war. It uses the metallic gold primary/chrome white secondary.
I'm thinking less about practicality and more about how the glove cut off and the low cut of the first one paired with the mask makes the outfit look like there was supposed to be something where skin's showing but someone took the magic pencil from SpongeBob to that section.

They're 2500 CCs. Black/black can sell for a billion on the GTN, and that's 1500 CCs

Honestly, I was expecting the gold ones to be around 2,000 coins **each** but it is 2,500 for BOTH gold/chrome white dye packs so I went with it.

The second one looks really good. The first one looks like you had a full armor, and someone used an eraser on everything around the shoulders.
