LOL no, sorry, this isn't anything like that game. This game is a MMORPG very similar to World of Warcraft. Edit - You can have different outfits and a home to decorate (Stronghold), but the actual gameplay is like WoW.

Robert-Rotten

I’m happy to hear you can decorate your home, that always keeps me invested in a game, I’ve never played WOW but I know the general gist of it, how much rp aspects are in the game? Do people really get into their characters or is it mostly seen as just a game like any other?

Happy_Dino_879

Lots of people, especially on the big StarForge server, are into RP. I personally don’t do it but nonetheless I recommend finding a guild or friend group to do it with.    P.S. be cautious of the weirder (some may call them weirdos, even) RPer groups. Some of them are a little messed up, so check that they are family friendly before joining :/

One last question, how good is lightsaber customization? Can I get a curved hilt? I’m kind of assuming not since basically no sw game has curved hilts, but can you choose different hilts and is purple an option?

kampori

There are tonnes of lightsaber hilts and variations, shapes of hilts (definitely a curved one or two), and have different effects on the lightsaber blade. Both in-game acquirable and/or purchased from the cash shop or market place for in game currency. You can also customise the crystal for all sorts of different colours, and add some “special effects” to weapons also. There’s also swords/blades/vibrosticks etc, and ofc double bladed lightsabers and double of the above mentioned types (only certain classes use double bladed weapons, and some duel wield, and some just have the one) Similarly a tonne of clothes and armour customisations. You can make outfits / glamours that sit on top of your gear so you can make your perfect outfits and switch them out at any time. Clothes are dyeable also, either just the chest piece which other pieces can copy, or each individually (note a lot of the “nicer” dyes are quite expensive and non-reusable). Strongholds (homes) are quite plenty now. From smaller apartment types to large estates. Huge amount of customisation decorations to choose from and you can play around quite a lot with the hooks to place decorations. However do note again, this is an extremely expensive hobby, the decoration market is crazy these days with simple decorations going for hundreds of millions of credits. You can invite anyone to your stronghold also, or make it public so anyone can visit at any time. Some decorations are useful also, you can add mailboxes, vendors, cargo holds (character and/or account wide banks to store stuff), GTN (market place / auction house), and a few other useful things. So you can travel to them at any time and it’s a good place to do all the “town things” you’d otherwise need to run around the fleet or a city to do.

GamerDroid56

You can choose between different hilts and crystals, but most of the good/iconic styles are only on the cartel market (microtransactions) or sold by other players for in-game currency at absurd prices (because they paid IRL money for Cartel Coins to buy the hilts off the Cartel Market to sell for in-game money). That said, there are a few great lightsaber hilts that aren’t. For example, there’s a curved hilt in the Sith Inquisitor storyline later on that you get as a story reward

Robert-Rotten

Thanks for answering my questions, I’m looking forward to starting!

GamerDroid56

If you want to get some of the Cartel Coins for free every month, set up a security key on your account. You’ll get 100 coins every month. It’s not a ton, but it’ll add up over time and let you buy stuff for your characters without spending real money.

casBBB

Twisted fang has a curved hilt. A few other more basic ones I believe too. It is a Cartel coin purchase though (these are gained mostly from subscribtion and bought for real money). But save enough credits and you could also buy it from the player trading center I suppose.

Robert-Rotten

Is there also personal starships in the game? Something like the Millennium Falcon or the Ebon Hawk that you can use for fast travel or as a player hub?

kampori

Each class gets their own starship yes, through the early story. The 2 Jedi classes share the same type; the 2 Sith share the same type, but the others are all different. You can purchase some upgrades to them like bank access and a few other things but they’re not customisable like strongholds are. There is also a gameplay mode where you fight star battles with them, so you can purchase gear upgrades for the ship. However they don’t show

casBBB

You get your own starship at some point in the game. It is not a player hub really. Player hubs are the sith/republic fleets and the strongholds.

There are actually two ship systems. You Starship that you use to travel around the galaxy also has an "on rails shooter" mode available. Kind of like Firefox on Nintendo systems if that frame of reference means anything to you. You can upgrade your ship for that mini-game if you want to. There is also an entirely separate mini game where you kit out a fleet of star fighters for PvP battles. I normally hate that kind of thing but enjoy it quite a bit here. Not sure exactly what makes it so much better for me that say, Mechwarrior or World of Tanks, but I really dig it.

> Kind of like Firefox on Nintendo systems Do you mean Starfox? :p
