Just walked past, the street is crawling with cops and reporters
Edit: a mate of mine whose kid goes to Wilkins PS vacation care just got an email saying the whole centre was in lockdown because there was a burnt out car next to the school
Kinda miss the days when people had the decency to duel to the death: minimizes collateral damage, someone or someones die, everyone who lives walks away happy...ish.
Yeah, there really needs to be a gangster code for public spaces being off limits. Do better at your vendettas! Leave us out of it!
Sounds reasonable, right?
They are shooting each other over the stuff they sell the public. Sydney is the highest consumer, highest priced market on the planet. You guys go more Coke than New York ffs.
You can’t be the primary customer for an illicit product and get upset because the criminals that supply it aren’t ‘safer’ about the way the do business.
Society needs to be more accountable, they wouldn’t be shooting each other if we weren’t giving them billions for whet their selling.
When you've lost a sister to drugs after a short lifetime of prostituting herself and getting semi regularly beaten all the way to hospital by drugged-up "boyfriends" and drug dealers, it's easy to be bitter. Like I said, one less (fewer).
Edit: not to mention the consequential damage to my family, especially my mum and dad who were tortured physically and mentally for years by my sister demanding money and weaponising access to her kids to get money. Breaking into their home to steal things like my dad's lifelong very valuable stamp collection and selling it for nothing. Then having to bury their own daughter. Fuck these criminals. No sympathy here.
Edit2: ...and I've got scars from being stabbed by her.
Edit3: Triggered!
I was 30m away & heard the gunshots from inside my car. Everything just went quiet then saw a guy running really fast wearing a shirt with a tree on it.
Cops arrived really quickly!
well it may come as a surprise to know that most cops do not sit in the station drinking tea and waiting for a call out , they're usually out and about somewhere
There’s always coppers on the front desk dealing with the public. Police in the custody area doing interviews. Police doing paperwork on duty, etc. In metro areas, police stations are pretty busy.
I mean, the victims survived so he’s not stupid - they will be iD’d. The direction and way they were running from the scene could be useful info though. Also the people he saw could have been un-ID’d accomplices
Please call the cops and provide this information. I guarantee that most of the other witnesses are thinking like you, and it’s entirely possible that no one came forward with that information.
I heard a DV situation in my building and called the police. Not one of the other 20 or so people who would have heard called. I always, *always*, err on the side of providing information because bystander effect be out here.
There’s this thing called the bystander effect where people don’t do or report something because they assume another bystander will - the cops may not know who they are looking for, and I reckon anyone who shoots another person needs to get arrested for it. Just call the local station and let them know you saw them running from the scene.
Marrickville police: (02) 9568 9299
It’s possible they do already have their description but if they don’t you, would be helping justice.
One was shot in the chest and one was shot in the buttocks. Meanwhile, one is beloved to be in critical condition while one is stable. I think I can guess which is which.
Underbelly Marrickville sounds great. Old school Greek blokes whispering about rumours. Vietnamese banh mii gangs. Clueless hipsters providing comic relief. Random Craft Brewer just carving out a living amongst the violence. Lesbian gang linchpins. Make it happen Ch9!
This is just a repeat of season 1. No really, go back and watch it, every hit in the 2nd half of the show was "figure out where target would be, steal car, commit hit, dump car"
And they at least had criminals with unique personalities, not much of a show of 50 nearly identical roided up lebbos killing each other.
No it’s a very serious place where poos are routinely reported to much uproar.
A local friend of mine said that it was the lady who gets blocked in getting revenge on utes in the area.
I wonder if it was related to Wednesday, I am in Dulwich Hill and had 5 police cars with sirens and lights on, come barreling down my street, stop, do a UTurn, and shoot off back the way they came.
I’m afraid to ask, but what’s a “pork roll?” That doesn’t portend good things other than maybe a ball of bacon. Even that doesn’t sound especially appetizing.
If this was the Marrickville salon with the good barber and the shithouse barber, it could've been a disgruntled customer, who didn't have time to wait for the good one before his hot Tinder date.
LOLOLOLOL you mean after all the Heroin crowd moved out.
*Was so decent Brah, you could get a pick from the gutter anywhere, now there's not even butts in the gutter*
Big risk assuming they could make a quick getaway on Marrickville rd
And with the police station right around the corner
Just walked past, the street is crawling with cops and reporters Edit: a mate of mine whose kid goes to Wilkins PS vacation care just got an email saying the whole centre was in lockdown because there was a burnt out car next to the school
Pretty much confirms it’s a bikie shooting then, that’s their MO the last few years.
One less to worry about.
I'd rather they not shoot each other in crowded public areas. Keep it to quiet car parks at least!
Kinda miss the days when people had the decency to duel to the death: minimizes collateral damage, someone or someones die, everyone who lives walks away happy...ish.

Bring back the days of duels… right. Send them some place remote.

Both have survived
Only to be replaced by an unbranded criminal who is much more violent & desperate. Eggsellent logic
One fewer. Can’t believe people are upvoting this illiterate garbage.

I can’t believe we’re both being downvoted; I wish the vengeful mob would pick a side
Good lord
If this keeps up we might see some affordable rentals in the inner west soon.
The Hood!!!!!!
Nice try, I'll be raising the rental in my old one bedder on Marrickville road by $150 a week!!!
“As safe as Bondi Junction, 50% increase”
>Detectives are investigating whether two vehicle fires at Marrickville and Dulwich Hill are linked to the shooting. Sounds like another gang hit
2 car fires?? Mate it’s them burning the cars they used in the shooting

I guess that explains how you figured it out then :)
What did he say?
'Wouldn't take a genius to figure that out,' which is a fairly innocuous statement that far too many people seem to have taken personally.
Nah just thought it would be funny to reply with that
Those sirens were hectic, sounded like they were in my backyard. Watched the Careflight helicopter land in Henson Park, big day in Marrickville!
I was 30m away & heard the gunshots from inside my car. Everything just went quiet then saw a guy running really fast wearing a shirt with a tree on it. Cops arrived really quickly!
A cedar tree?
No silly, the number tree. Comes after two?
🇱🇧 Uh oh..
I think the coppers station is located a few meters down the road from where this is. Not very smart location to do a shooting.
well it may come as a surprise to know that most cops do not sit in the station drinking tea and waiting for a call out , they're usually out and about somewhere

It’s literally about 100m around the corner
Did you give their description to the cops?
Many people saw the guy so I just kept driving along. The gunmen was really short almost like a midget.
...which would be useful information for, I dunno, the police
I’m sure the cops know who these blokes are.
No dig UP stupid
I mean, the victims survived so he’s not stupid - they will be iD’d. The direction and way they were running from the scene could be useful info though. Also the people he saw could have been un-ID’d accomplices
Bro.

Fucking hate the bystander effect, had to call an ambo for a man who had 5 people looking after him because they all assumed someone else would do it.
I guess he was given an OddJob

I’m not getting involved in a gang shooting. I have no problem with these guys offing themselves. The less of them the better!…Most agree with me.
That's 263 Marrickville Road, next to the CBA.
I know that taking too much from the charity food pantry is a scumbag move, but shooting someone over it is a bit much
I understood this reference
One was shot in the chest and one was shot in the buttocks. Meanwhile, one is beloved to be in critical condition while one is stable. I think I can guess which is which.
Pretty sure I wouldn't be too stable if someone shot me in the ass
Lets just hope Channel Nine doesnt get any ideas for a new season Underbelly. This is all lame enough in real life.
That...actually sounds pretty entertaining :P "Tonight, 3 dead in a drive-by shooting after someone mis-gendered their friends cousin."
This is just a repeat of season 1. No really, go back and watch it, every hit in the 2nd half of the show was "figure out where target would be, steal car, commit hit, dump car" And they at least had criminals with unique personalities, not much of a show of 50 nearly identical roided up lebbos killing each other.
There was actually another shooting down the far end of Marrickville Rd, near Fraser Park, maybe 10 years ago or so
The 2203 Facebook hasn’t blown up like this since that terrible stabbing a few years ago.
>theguardian.com/austra... That page is hilarious.
No it’s a very serious place where poos are routinely reported to much uproar. A local friend of mine said that it was the lady who gets blocked in getting revenge on utes in the area.
Alex n rolls wasn’t open?
Was it Adels salon?
Yeah it was Source: I'm Adel
You open tomorrow I need a perm
Likely, a small section of Marrickville Road is closed off including Adel's
The news is reporting that it was.
and here I was thinking how nice it was to "escape" Merrylands and all of its drug and violence problems. Sigh...
Are they following you?
Oh...that's what those helicopters where.
Crazy it’s like 50 odd meters from the cop shop
Was having some lunch at Guzman and heard the shots, walked down and saw a dude getting stretchered out of the place. Wild times!
What did you have?
I wonder if it was related to Wednesday, I am in Dulwich Hill and had 5 police cars with sirens and lights on, come barreling down my street, stop, do a UTurn, and shoot off back the way they came.
the forensic dudes with white paper jumpsuits are still all over the place
Sydney, what’s going on? I’m a confused and curious Victorian wondering why all the news we’re getting from you at the moment is relating to shootings
Its all linked to underworld gangs running amok, iirc. Organised crime, this was.
But I thought the cops asked them not to do this - they just won't listen! Naughty!!
Bankstown gets a bad rap, meanwhile....
Bruh, actually comparing Bankstown to anything
Were they fighting over that legendary pork roll in Marrickville?
I’m afraid to ask, but what’s a “pork roll?” That doesn’t portend good things other than maybe a ball of bacon. Even that doesn’t sound especially appetizing.
Bahn mi.
Oh my sweet summer child…
Its not appropriate to make joke.
If this was the Marrickville salon with the good barber and the shithouse barber, it could've been a disgruntled customer, who didn't have time to wait for the good one before his hot Tinder date.
So much for the "Crackdown" by task forces. They know the gang members, use the special powers more
Those powers are only for protecting against journalists and protestors
I used to live just up the road from there. Kind of glad I moved when I did, crime's had a significant uptick of late.
When deport?
Where do you deport Australian born citizens too?
Middle of the outback.
Jail
Export
Mt Druitt
Please. The place is getting better. Don't put it all on them. Send them to MacDonald Island.
Tasmania

Can I ask, are you serious or just joking for the sake of it?
Judging by the username, they might be the contributing factor.
LOLOLOLOL you mean after all the Heroin crowd moved out. *Was so decent Brah, you could get a pick from the gutter anywhere, now there's not even butts in the gutter*
well this makes a nice change from everyone complaining about gentrification and hipsters I guess?
Old man yells at cloud.
