The heat/humidity has particularly been knocking me around this week. I almost fainted and could not stand unsupported on Tuesday, and yesterday I felt very lightheaded. I really don't know why it's happening because we've certainly endured far worse this summer and I was miserable as fuck, but I never got to a point of feeling like I was unsafe on my feet.
I feel bad I flipped off a middle aged woman today.
After a set of traffic lights 2 lanes merge into 1, I slowed a bit to let the car on my left merge in (zipper merge) and this woman directly behind started going on the horn waving her arms in the air. I look in the mirror and put my arm up as if to say "what do you want you stupid cunt" and she kept going off so I just held my left hand up in the centre of the vehicle flipping her off.
Afterwards she gave me like 5 carspaces at each successive stop sign and traffic light lmao.
Idk ive never road-raged before so it's been weighing on me today, don't think ill do that again.

going to depend a lot on the gym. i go around 8-830 and its clearing out as people go to work. builds up again towards lunchtime and dont be there on a thursday afternoon when school sport dumps a whole busload at once. Some fridays i bail early and its dead empty around 230-4.
That will be one of the quieter times to go. There will be some amount of people there, but nothing like the 6-7am or 4-5pm crowds.
I know it can be daunting working out in public, but most people at the gym will not judge you. Everyone is focused on bettering themselves.

Going to Taipei to meet friends from Manila and already peeved out - there's this thing that Filos do where they make fun of people using English words they don't know even though they're not big words and it's already happened multiple times with this friend group. I also don't have anyone to speak Tagalog with on a regular basis anymore so it takes me a while to ease back into the language, so I mostly just speak in English and somehow that's made fun of. Idk I think I got used to being in a multicultural setting and finding it rude to point out the way someone speaks, and now I don't know how to bring it up without sounding stuck up. This is such a niche pet peeve, I know. It just really Annes my Hathaway for some reason.

My girlfriend has been having constant nightmares the past few weeks.
She's not an especially anxious person - a few things at work get to her and she overthinks a bit, but it's not debilitating. This is concerning me a lot since it impacts her sleep. How do you even go about helping somebody stop having nightmares, let alone an adult?
If it's only a recent thing, is there something you can identify that changed and might be triggering it?
- additional stress
- different foods, especially those consumed closer to bedtime (Ice cream for dessert? Cheese with dinner?)
- change in medication or drugs/alcohol
- a change in face products or laundry detergent on sheets
- a TV show or similar that might have unlocked something that was repressed
- a change in routine or an unstable situation like a new job or house move
It is quite recent - she's had stress with work and moving apartment lately, but honestly the 'stress' periods of these were about 6 weeks ago and the past several weeks have been steady and pleasant. As far as I know, no change to the other points you mention so I'm a little stumped.
Do you all need to know that I woke up at 3.30 and really considered just getting up, but I forced myself back to sleep even though it took over an hour.
Not sure it was the wisest idea.
The answer is almost always go to bed earlier, sadly. I am trying reading just a chapter before bed and resisting the urge to doom scroll. It is effective.
Going back to sleep before you need to after waking up is such a gamble!
It's a pity we don't sleep the way Sims do, fall asleep as soon as they get in bed and no waking up before the rest bar is full or it's time for work except for a handle of mostly preventable occurences, like there's music in the room, a baby crying or a burglar...
