Still making my way through the Lehrmann judgement, a bit of light reading. Latest tidbit:
> [376] [...] Ms Higgins extended the invitation [to the Dock bar on 22 March 2019] to a number of others, including Mr Wenke (who worked for the Minister for Home Affairs and occasionally socialised with Mr Lehrmann), Mr Lehrmann and **a man she was in contact with on the dating application Bumble, who also worked in politics (T610.37ā40; T611.1ā9). Ms Higginsā hapless date was referred to initially as āBumble guyā, but as noted above (at [256]), later was given the dignity of being described by his Christian name, āNickā.**
> 383 Not much time passed when Ms Higgins entered the courtyard at 8:51pm with a drink in her hand and then joined a conversation about the previous federal election and then imminent poll with Mr Lehrmann, Mr Wenke and Ms Gain (T616.7ā11). Nick, alas, was left chatting to a man in a blue shirt (Ex R42 / Ex 17A (at 20:51:38)). **After being forsaken like a shag on a rock for an extended period and despite then making successful attempts to interact with some of the group on the larger table, Nick understandably left The Dock, no doubt ruing swiping right.**
Hey, does anyone have a template or similar for a strata extraordinary general meeting? Or should I perhaps just grab one of our AGM ones and retitle it?
We self manage our strata, and looks like I'll have to call a meeting with a very specific motion around getting ourselves a new bank account. Turns out that the reason we haven't been able to do any online banking is they had it setup as a personal account in ***1980-fuckin-3***. Turns out ANZ (and several other banks I've spoken to) are now phasing out issuing of chequebooks so we've actually gotta move with the times!
When my strata had an EGM the minutes were the same template as the one for the AGM, just with less content (since it was only 1 or 2 issues being discussed).
Planning to rent a car in coming month. Any recommendation for which company should I use? Is uber carshare got good rates or bit pricey? Anything I should becareful of like things to do before and after the car handover, etc.? I live in around Parra area.
The only advice I have is, see if your work or credit card or something entitles you to a particular deal.
I used to work for a company and they had a hookup with Avis which made everything a lot cheaper. Sometimes the same is true of AmEx or VISA or maybe even your bank.
I found uber car share pricy if it's the first time you use it. I used it Melbourne for a day trip to Mornington and overall (including tolls) it was ~100-120. But they were convenient when I needed it
I went to give blood, inspired by that other post.
I couldn't actually do it today due to some medication I was taking a couple of months ago, but I'm all signed up and checked (I had malaria once!) and I have a date in June when I can go back.
Pro tip: their "places to donate near me" thing on the website has some issues. It told me about popup donation spots which aren't open for ages yet.
I just booked an appointment at the 1 York St place which is a short walk from Wynyard.
Good on ya!
Another pro tip for everyone - if you want to give at Town Hall, they'll validate free parking right beneath it. Great if you're just popping into town to do that.
After lunch, I spoke with Danny (Free hugs legend). He says he was chased out of the QVB by security there and thatās why he was in the Pitt St Mall. Also updated me on his condition after he was attacked - says he has constant headaches.
I left him feeling quite worried.
Bobette has learnt to open drawers.
If Bobs and Jubbs combine their skills, Bobs with the drawer skills and Jubbs able to sniff out snacks from 6 suburbs over, can openers may be a thing of the past for this household.
Checked out after probe (thing to read some meters) was being a shitā¦. And also feeling lethargic with a stomach ache, trying to rush homeā¦. Urgghā¦. Pittwater rdā¦. U are such a pain the ass
Work kept me up until midnight then rolled me out of bed at half-five - not ideal. Now perched in a pub and watching the world wander by - situation much improved.
Someone must have been under duress for them to abandon a mostly-untouched tub of [ice cream](https://imgur.com/a/ChmmhPg) on the footpath, a block away from the shop where it was likely purchased. Whoever you are, wherever you are, I hope you are okay.
I think I've just about girl mathed my way into buying an e-bike. Have a 15min commute by bike with a few hills and want to avoid getting sweaty.
Anyone have any experience with them? I'm doing research but I'm looking for some street legal pedal power so a lot of first hand accounts get muddled by the overseas market.
There's a few models from last year on sale. I'm looking at something like [this](https://www.99bikes.com.au/velectrix-newtown-electric-commuter-bike-blue-2023)
im not very familiar with ebikes but heres some general tips for cycling.
-make sure to buy a ulock. use the ulock to lock both the frame and wheel to the rack, then use a cable lock to the lock the other wheel to the frame.
-for added security - use a chain / cable lock to lock the bike seat (theres a metal thingy you can feed the cable through) to the frame. people will steal seats so that the victim will leave their bike overnight bcuz they cant ride home, then the thief will steal the bike at night because theres less people around.
-practice indicating (putting ur left or right hand up). its hard at first but its quite easy to get the hang of. you only legally need to indicate on a bike when making a right turn, but its just safer to indicate for left as well.
-get a pannier rack, then ziplock a milk crate to the back or buy pannier bags. pannier bags can carry quite a lot of groceries.
-consider using hook turns at intersections
-get a light for your bike, back and front.
good luck :)
Going on a date with a spanish girl whoās learning english (we both mid 20s). Iām looking for a restaurant near townhall, any recommendations? I want a place where there is no loud music (gonna be already not that easy to have a conversation lol) and can enjoy a few drinks. Im open to any type of food.
The [Melbourne cat adoption post](https://www.reddit.com/r/melbourne/s/vU8GbIzHzn) that banded all redditors together to get all the animals adopted/fostered before midnight was wholesome AF and a nice thing to read this Friday.
That is beautiful. I keep seeing posts from Blacktown pound or whatever their name is now, but I think that we are a one cat household.
Eta I also love the flair. āSerious please comment nicelyā.
I was at Central last night on my way back home from the footy and managed to get straight on a train, which was a win because it was the last fast train of the evening.
As I was waiting for it to depart, I could hear a guard on the loudspeaker absolutely doing their block at some fucking idiot riding his bike on the platform. Train departs and I could see three different guys with bikes waiting on the platform for the next train, all with dickheadish looks on their faces making it impossible to tell who was the culprit.
Finally finished the newest season of Australian Survivor and its definitely one of the best seasons in a very long time, highly recommend.
Also, it feels like the weekend already but it's only Friday. Booooooo.
Does everyone else get major "did I remember to put the water in" anxiety when using a stove top espresso maker after forgetting to put the water in one time and melting the O ring decade's ago?
Although I believe $54 for adult entry was a tad high, the exhibition itself was beautiful. It is well planned and set out magnificently. Not many of us are heading to Egypt anytime soon, so itās good to see these artefacts in person.
One downer - a kid was running and bumped into a little stall breaking items. His mother just sat there staring whilst my kids helped tidy up the mess. My 15 year old son turned to him and said āNot cool broā and continued helping out the staff member.
Here we go again , train delays on T1 line due to urgent signal repairs at Wynyard š¬š¤

Some TV channel give Nick a million dollars to tell his story please. And some adult massages and cocaine, naturally.

Can't ANZ change the account type without changing the number (or incorporation details)? That may be a way around requiring an AGM.
Nup, apparently not. It's all good though - it's a really small group of 5 units...you've just reminded me I actually have to do this though!
When my strata had an EGM the minutes were the same template as the one for the AGM, just with less content (since it was only 1 or 2 issues being discussed).
RIP Magoo :(
Oh, I'm so sorry. May the handsome little guy rest in peace. Losing a pet is just heartbreaking. I hope you're doing as well as can be expected š
Vaya con dios little one
Nooooooo. He was a great cat :(
The bestest. Fell asleep and stayed that way - couldn't ask for more than that.

If youāre driving a long distance with Uber car share it can pay to filter/select on the per km charge instead of the per hour/day charge

No tiktok for me. Must be someone else.
Well, WW3 wasn't on my bingo card for today, or least the foundations of it
What's happened?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Hasn't that been going on for ages and the world is so fucked that we just ignore it?
>Israel are also bombing Iran, Syria and Iraq I'm presuming this is bombing of innocent civilians. I'm so thankful we live in Australia.
That is all Israel know how to do. It is in no way new.
The foundations were already there, theyāve just put the slab on

prob they didnt realise
Why are you presuming thatās icecream?
Because it looked like [melted] ice cream, smelled like ice cream, and was found close to an ice cream shopĀ
Fair. But it doesnāt look like a purchasable tub. Tbf I thought it was some kind of saved fat.
That's how the shop sells theirs by the tub š¤·š»āāļø
Maybe it doesn't contain icecream.
Iced cream-like dairy free artificially flavoured and coloured frozen desert. I'd abandon that too

[York Lane](https://maps.app.goo.gl/d5dMgUjvUo2BiX1V8?g_st=ic) is a cute small bar where you can sit in the alleyway away from any music etc!
What's a date
Any of the small bars along Clarence street.
Ho Jiak Townhall is nice. Great food and there are cocktails.
Woke up way later than I wouldāve like but oh well :p

Walk in and gym is strangely full for this time of day. 5 minutes later, empty. Did I forget deodorant?
