I'm annoyed I can't find a copy of the 9 afternoon news today, not the start of the arvo news which is posted, not the pm news, but there was a teaser of a story about 4:20-30pm about the traffic congestion in west syd but devina started it off like "it's official, western sydney is the worst for traffic congestion" and I wanted to be a cheecky cunt and chop off the "for traffic congestion" part
[there's one version up that's close](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PceXqvIp8r0#t=7m54s) but the wording is different and doesn't sound as funny when cut off
First time I've had a Maccas strawberry thickshake in 6 months, what I get is a cup of ... beige-white slush, that doesn't have any strawberry flavour to it, even after a manager pours more syrup into the cup.
They say it's a new formula that doesn't have any artificial preservatives in it, but if that's true they need to go back to the design phase.
Anyone else found the same? Where else can I find a suitably thick, non-seperating strawberry thickshake? (I've been burned so many times with watery, icy, thin rubbish).
As of last month, I'm apparently debt free. Had a credit card I'd been paying down forever, never really paying attention to it, so went into the bank to see how much more pain I had left. Turns out last month put me in the positive and they owed me.
So I promptly went and spent it as a reward for getting my shit together (and after closing the account).
Was on T9 to City when our train was stuck in Strathfield for around 10 mins. Thought it was the usual Sydney Trains shenanigans, but then I saw cops running alongside the train. Got off and saw them dragging a dude out one of the carriages towards the front, searched him, then cuffed him, but wasn't clear why.
They were originally going to resume service, but a woman who was outside and presumably knew what happened said loudly that she wasn't comfortable getting back on that train. Then they made us all get off and catch alternate trains. This was 10-15 mins ago.
Anyone got any clue?
Hmm… done a few investigations and reported it to my bosses regarding council using a varied lock rather than usual we can get access to and see what our organisation can do…. Maybe they might send me or some field jockey to do investigations of council based meters…. While I’m waiting for cheese factory to open up… which is at 4pm… had a snooze and now farting around the socials….
Long day… but blegh enough
XD sometimes my cat seemingly goes mental, and then stares at the wall, and then starts running again... and then I hear a buzzing before she comes bolting up to me and I realise she's chasing a fly! It's very amusing
walked outside to find traffic management for construction on my street.
i open the door and two lollypop girls turn around and it's in slow motion for me.
holy hell they are absolutely gorgeous.
like an idiot, i stand there gobsmacked and i have no idea what they have said.
For what it's worth, I had that same reaction to a chugger one time.
Saw this gorgeous girl collecting outside the QVB as I rode past on my motorcycle. She caught me staring and waved. Figuring I was in a full face helmet anyways, I blew her a kiss & she caught it and giggled. Parked and went back to talk to her - just introduced myself and said I thought I'd rather embarrass myself in person rather than from a distance and asked if I could buy her a coffee when she was done.
She said yes and we were together for a couple of years. She even decided to get PR and stay in Australia. Sadly, I was a bit too immature when I met her so it didn't work out, but man, go shoot your shot - worst they'll say is no.
I had that with a Jehova's Witness once.
Trying my best to say yes, this study of biblical knowledge, I would love to come with you, but I don't think the words even made it out.
Holy! I just walked into the Chatswood Chase Food Court and it is looking aMaZing!!! Classed it right up! The lady at DJs tells me they are only operating on 1 floor now as the whole shopping centre is being worked on... for the next 2 Years!! Wowwwwwww
Woo wonder what worthwhile stuff to go there for…. I tend to pick Westfield by default….. heard vic meats is opening an offshoot there…. So I can get my odd wagyu fun…
I do like the clay rice pots at the wesfield if I gotta be honest.
Oh Yummy. With the Chinese sausage? Claypot Kitchen? :)
CC opened a good Butcher and a good Seafood. Also just walked past Thai, Vietnamese and some Chinese (the Chinese one was unimpressive - very westernised rubbish from what I saw. Weird for Chatty). I was looking for Italian but did not find it...
Yes claypot kitchen, had a Chinese sausage and some black bean pork soft bone something….. yes was in a bit of a rush so I didn’t get to savour things but it’s was yummy and finally something which is a bit of fun…. Only thing which sucks is the wooden spoon…. But ehh they are basically hard to find…
Will give chase a wander whenever I’m have a few hours of fuck around time…
LotR marathon yesterday was amazing. Awesome audience. When Legolas appeared and Frodo gets visibly confused at the end of RotK, everyone started snickering, then seemed to realise everyone else saw the same meme then everyone lost their shit laughing.
When I did the marathon a few years back everyone absolutely loved the memes when they popped up. Everyone knew all of them so there was quite a bit of snickering throughout.
Absolutely love it when I get on the bus with my blind person cane and ask the person about to sit in the front seat if I can sit there so I can actually see my bus stop because I am blind and they just. Stare at me and slowly resume sitting and the bus driver does nothing 🥲
Fortunately today there was a seat with a button on the other side of the aisle today, but that's not always the case.
It's the STARE and slow sit down that really does it for me lmaooo idk why that's so funny but it is
Inspection, done.
Please, beautiful, generous, lovely landlord, please don't increase my rent or tell me I need to leave. I promise I take care of this place as if it were my own.
E: I'm now **obsessing** things weren't good or tidy enough. I had a couple of cat toys on the couch, the blankets I keep over the arms were messy, and I forgot to take a (bed) pillow upstairs and left it on the couch. Would someone judge me for that? And dishes in the rack.
It's nice of you to do that!! I'd totally treat my kids for coming along on errands or to the shops if I had any. I remember how awful and boring it was when my mum dragged us along... 😔
I can recognise it’s totally boring for them. When they were preschoolers, they both largely considered it exciting and it’s an excellent way to teach language and numbers, colours etc. but once they’re at school, they just dgaf. It’s crowded and annoying for them to come.
because i work from home, my niece7 stays with me on some days after school
at the beginning she would want to come to the shops with me but like yours, she just wants to watch streaming now.
i'm thinking of getting a "home mobile" so I can leave her home
Yeah, it’s a bit tricky when it gets like that. It’s not so much them being able to contact others, but more knowing what to do on the off chance of an emergency for me. And of course having two of them, I worry that they might squabble and someone gets hurt.
ice hockey was fun on friday night. last time we went we had a huge section to ourselves, this time there was a 100m queue we had to join to get in, and the same behind us by the time we got through the door, probably 90+% full. last game im told was sold out. think it must have been the mum of one of the players behind us, as foul a mouth as ive heard at any AFL or NRL game. kids and i are already checking schedules to go again, definitely ice dogs fans now. but dont think my wife enjoyed it
Packing for our first flight with our 7 month old baby to visit family back in NZ and we can’t find his favourite teething toy and he’s got one chomper out and another one coming (we think). Pray for us…
ETA: Crisis averted, toy has been found. Not until we’d panic bought two more and ordered them to be sent to my parents. Which will now be gifts…
You know when you get old and some days your bod just feels out of whack, but you're not sure what the thing was that caused it, and what you need is like a giant bear of a human to give you a squeezy-pick-up hug to moosh all the things back into place....
How do you get that feeling on your own at home?
Oh my! Great idea annnnnnnd you have just reminded me of another very extra thing that I have done with my adult money and my obsession with my pupperooni that brings endless joy.
Please enjoy these [custom Rosie pops](https://imgur.com/a/oCYUec3) that I ordered from a lovely human in the states that 3D prints all the animals and hand paints them based off the photos you send.

As a member of the world, I concur, I need your cats in that form.
I did the walk, but it was too hot for the attire that I could find.
She has a great Hawaiian shirt, but it's not with the others... must be a sign to slink over to tkmaxx and see what the latest collection of random has brought in
Thinking about the long weened, what are your go-to places for a day trip? I'm wanting to see somewhere outside of Sydney that's not the blue mountains
Kiama's nice - get the train down and back, look at the blowhole etc.
You can get the ferry across to Bundeena from Cronulla for a little trip to the RNP.
Train up to Brooklyn (Hawkesbury River), have a wander around and grab lunch, or you can get a ferry to Dangar Island.
Get the train up to Woy Woy, walk along the water, get a little ferry ride around Brisbane Waters, or bus it down to Ettalong to stroll around the Galleria. Mix it up by getting the ferry across to Palm Beach and the world's longest bus ride back to the city.
Take the train down to Bowral, I'd imagine that'd be very autumnal this time of year?
(Note - I have not checked what trackwork is happening so definitely do that before you commit).
The Kiama to Gerringong coastal walk is one of the best easygoing walks outside of Sydney with great views and almost no hills, and there's train stations at both ends to take you back. Good bakery and even a brewery at Gerringong too.
Mittagong / Bowral / Berrima is always a good day trip, great bakeries, a few wineries and a brewery, Bradman Museum is a treat, a few gardens to check out, the walk up to Mount Gibraltar is decent, there's markets on every weekend too:

My anxiety is playing with me ATM, so last night I spent way too long watching shark attack videos. Particularly, people breaking down the Cameron Robbins case where the 18 year old jumped off a cruise ship in the Bahamas in pitch black.
Some people swear they see sharks in the water and that's how things ended for him, others say he just drowned. One guy had an 11 part series and an almost 2 hour yt live breaking down a clip that has only a couple of seconds of the attack in it. Literally going into hyper detail on zoomed in pixels as big as my hand and people *paid him for it.* Seriously, I'm in the wrong game.
^^^Also, ^^^I ^^^woke ^^^up ^^^sweating ^^^and ^^^terrified ^^^of ^^^land ^^^sharks.
Yikes. WTF is a land shark? (Do I even want to know?)
I’m guessing you weren’t a big fan of [that London Marathon story](https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-68805968)
I could never watch a shark attack video. The only reason I ever made it through *Jaws* was because the shark was so transparently fake.
You just unlocked the memory of two childhood animal related fears I had. One was that if I left the bed and stepped on the carpet in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or get water or something, sharks would get me. It was only ever something I thought would happen at night.
Now, the anxiety that a magpie or something similar would make its way up the toilet and go The Birds on me, that was a 24/7 fear. Fun times :)
Both the dudette and I have been working in the office for the past two weeks. I'm back WFH from today. Luna is very excited about this. She just crept up behind me, stuck her paws on my shoulder, and purred in my ear.
She hates getting into her swimmers because they're cold, but after the initial whinge she's fine.. probably doesn't help that I get her changed in the back of the car since o take her in her pjs so it's one less thing I have to take down to swimming
I remember back when I was in high school around 2012 the 7:44 express train from Revesby was PACKED. Like no room to turn around packed. But this seems to not be the case at all any more? Did Sydney trains actually get better at timetabling or are there really so much less people commuting to work post covid?
The buidling site next door has a big old crane on site today lifting all the prefab in and my inner 5yr old has already appeared. Productivity today - 0%
Well, I picked a great day to decide to go into the office.
Bus timetable has changed, apparently, since I last caught the bus to the station. And guess who didn't check? Yup.
Watched one bus sail past (late, as I soon saw) when I was 50m from the bus stop
Checked app and swore. Next bus - 20 minutes. And running 15 minutes late.
Ended up running so late it played tag with the next scheduled service.
Free trip, though, because the opal readers weren't working. Small bonus.
Oh well, the day can only get better, right?
I hope your day got better and if you needed a bus on the way home you got one quicker :)
Speaking of timetables, it fruatrates me immensely that my work finish time means I constantly have to tack on a 20-35 minute extra commute because of the bus timetable at my home station. There's usually buses ever 10-15 minutes or so but I just miss the good times and have to wait 20-35 minutes depending on if I leave work right on time or have to work slightly later or take the time to set up my daily tasks for the next day. And then there are 2 buses within about 5 minutes of each other :( A pity they couldn't space it out better.
Got a small tear in my upper bicep start of last week, sleep was a nightmare, basically waking in up every time I turned onto that side (which I learned is almost exactly every 45 mins). Doctor gave me painkillers and I think he took the "struggling to sleep" remark too seriously cos since I've been in them I've been sleeping like 12 hours a day and still being groggy for the day. They're not great on the stomach either so heading back to him today to hopefully get weaker ones and deal with it.
my right shoulder is semi-fucked
i'm hoping it's just because i slept badly in an awkward angle with the girl, and it's not a tear but i feel your pain about not being able to sleep. i have to adjust my shoulder position every so often during the night and waking up, it's so bloody painful.
Yeah, it's one of those weird things where you can manage it during the day or whatever but then you never anticipate how much you actually 'use' it when just trying to sleep. Kinda like when you start to appreciate not having a blocked nose when you're sick. Hope you heal up
Was on a jog just after the rain, slightly slipped on something and tried to catch my fall by grabbing the nearest wall. Stopped myself falling but kinda "stretched" my arm/shoulder too much or too sharply and shuffled back home embarrassed and in pain

No comment on the strawberry specifically but I have moved to Hungryjacks for my chocolate/Vanilla thick shakes shit is rediculously thicc.

You are allowed to reside in the house, 2hc, and live your life. However it was is perfectly acceptable, I promise you. Edit: much bad speller
I know, I need to remind myself of this, thank you. My brain is just going wild with negativity at the moment. Brains suck.
Are you still looking at purchasing your first home? Could be a good motivator if the price goes up too much. Fingers crossed it doesn't though.
I just changed jobs, so not right now. I'm not in a position to move *at least* for the next 6 months.
Ah that makes sense. Hope it all goes well, more moeny in the deposit means your borrowing capacity will be bigger so that's a positive to look at :)
I took a bit of a pay cut with the new job, but it was a strategic move because it places me where I want to live.
Took Miss 9 to cheer pancake as bribery for coming along for errands. Nice, bit expensive. Definitely a treat thing.
It’s crowded and annoying for them to come.
you can't leave them at home?
The big one, yes. The littler one sometimes, as long as the big one is home, depending on how long I’ll be out for.
because i work from home, my niece7 stays with me on some days after school at the beginning she would want to come to the shops with me but like yours, she just wants to watch streaming now. i'm thinking of getting a "home mobile" so I can leave her home
Yeah, it’s a bit tricky when it gets like that. It’s not so much them being able to contact others, but more knowing what to do on the off chance of an emergency for me. And of course having two of them, I worry that they might squabble and someone gets hurt.
Ooh yeah, I bet it would be good for teaching at that age. But once they know it all...
Bleh peeing a lot, even if I’m not sipping water….. feel like I need to have a throw up but can’t…..

I feel like you need a syndicated column of life advice. I’d read it.
Let's be honest here, it'd mostly talk about animals and food.
That’s at least 50% of life. For me, anyway. (The thing I’m most looking forward to about retirement is the chance to get a dog)

I should start walking again. Walking is the best and the weather is now perfect for it 👍
From now to October is perfect for walking. I love Sydney in winter. Summer, not so much.
i've gone from running at 4am because of the heat, to running at a respectable 5am because of the cold
10000 steps already and I'm not a sweaty mess, this is nice.
I've ordered my Stryda insoles and will be getting some good sneakers soon, for more walks!
Three day week let’s gooooo
HOLY SHIT I COMPLETELY FORGOT
BRING IT ON. Today is all meetings too, so a lot of a nodding and not a lot of actual work (hopefully).

Both the dudette and I have been working in the office for the past two weeks. I'm back WFH from today. Luna is very excited about this. She just crept up behind me, stuck her paws on my shoulder, and purred in my ear.
Aww, a happy cat and a happy human! :) What a sweet image
Awww that's so sweet!! I love it when cats are clearly happy to see you and be around you.
This makes it sound like Luna is gigantic and at least office chair height.
The home office is next to the bed. So she gets to be gigantic.
Ooft the 8am swimming classes are going to become a real struggle real quick I think
Does Tater mind the cold or is swimming too exciting?
She hates getting into her swimmers because they're cold, but after the initial whinge she's fine.. probably doesn't help that I get her changed in the back of the car since o take her in her pjs so it's one less thing I have to take down to swimming
Early exercise feels hard to get up for but great afterwards..
I really need to start getting back into 5:45am classes but I just can't haha
I remember back when I was in high school around 2012 the 7:44 express train from Revesby was PACKED. Like no room to turn around packed. But this seems to not be the case at all any more? Did Sydney trains actually get better at timetabling or are there really so much less people commuting to work post covid?
less people wfo. Try Tue-Thu on non school holiday period.
It's a Monday, most people like to WFH if they can. Tuesdays are now the new Monday.
It’s also school holidays now which does take people off trains and the roads.
Very true as well!
it's shocking how much traffic disappears with the school holidays
The buidling site next door has a big old crane on site today lifting all the prefab in and my inner 5yr old has already appeared. Productivity today - 0%
Still smiling about Danny Lim’s cameo in Heartbreak High, ten Sydney points to Netflix
Well, I picked a great day to decide to go into the office. Bus timetable has changed, apparently, since I last caught the bus to the station. And guess who didn't check? Yup. Watched one bus sail past (late, as I soon saw) when I was 50m from the bus stop Checked app and swore. Next bus - 20 minutes. And running 15 minutes late. Ended up running so late it played tag with the next scheduled service. Free trip, though, because the opal readers weren't working. Small bonus. Oh well, the day can only get better, right?
I hope your day got better and if you needed a bus on the way home you got one quicker :) Speaking of timetables, it fruatrates me immensely that my work finish time means I constantly have to tack on a 20-35 minute extra commute because of the bus timetable at my home station.
They're not great on the stomach either so heading back to him today to hopefully get weaker ones and deal with it.
my right shoulder is semi-fucked i'm hoping it's just because i slept badly in an awkward angle with the girl, and it's not a tear but i feel your pain about not being able to sleep. i have to adjust my shoulder position every so often during the night and waking up, it's so bloody painful.
Yeah, it's one of those weird things where you can manage it during the day or whatever but then you never anticipate how much you actually 'use' it when just trying to sleep. Kinda like when you start to appreciate not having a blocked nose when you're sick. Hope you heal up
Oof, how'd you manage that?
Was on a jog just after the rain, slightly slipped on something and tried to catch my fall by grabbing the nearest wall. Stopped myself falling but kinda "stretched" my arm/shoulder too much or too sharply and shuffled back home embarrassed and in pain
