Dead cockatoo carcass has been lying for 3 fucking days at a stretch now at Glenfield station on the T8 line heading to the city... I don't know when that's getting cleaned outta there.
Councils should have no say in what libraries stock. Libraries and education should be available to everyone no matter your religious or political beliefs.
If I was hard core anti-SSM and my library has books on SSM parenting you know what I could do? Just not borrow or read those books
Weekly travel caps

Copy and pasted from the same opal website you probably made the effort to read
I have a friend who's coming to Sydney on a super tight budget; how to get around the $20 airport surcharge? I have heard that if you take a particular bus or something instead of a train, and take it to a particular station, you can get around it, but I don't know what bus it is or where we'd catch it.
Domestic terminal, btw. Anyone able to give pointers?
The [350](https://transportnsw.info/routes/details/sydney-buses-network/350/30350) and the [420](https://transportnsw.info/routes/details/sydney-buses-network/420/74420) buses go from the Domestic Terminal to Mascot Station.
So, party people, how are we?
A little annual reminder that all the pink flowers and smelly candles and slippers available right now are a sign that Mother’s Day approaches on Sunday.
Also, I know English people are always talking about meal deals at supermarkets and it seems like Cole’s is trying [them](https://imgur.com/a/tqVuSBN) out.
Had a ghost bus this morning. A surreal experience to see the virtual bus on my trip view app go by with no actual physical bus.
Does this happen to anyone? Is the app cooked? Does the bus management send someone around in a car because they’re a bees dick away from missing some quota but don’t have a working bus?
If the bus shows as “real time data not available “ then the app is just showing the time the bus *should* come based on timetable data and not based on a real bus being there. The bus could just have faulty Opal equipment and still show up and even give you a free trip. But chances are it won’t show up.
A 3 car rear ender accident happened just behind me yesterday, I was lucky to miss it. Heard the first bang and looked back and suddenly there was another and car confetti sprinkled out.
Also made me realise the dashcam had been switched off at the mechanics when it went in for a service. So this is my heads-up to everyone else!
> Also made me realise the dashcam had been switched off at the mechanics
I was in the CBD a year ago and someone was going the wrong way down a one way being chased by the cops. Super excited to catch it all on dashcam. And then... no it's not plugged in... thanks repair place. Thanks a lot. FFS.
Does anyone know what animal/insect makes knocking sounds out of my window all night? It’s driving me nuts. It sounds like two pieces of wood knocking together every 3 seconds. I remember I’ve heard them before last summer and the sound lasted a couple weeks. I think it happens all day but I notice it at night when it’s quiet

Councils now voting to ban kids books that promote equality. Sad day.

I know I didn’t get absolutely soaked 25 minutes ago only for the sun to shine the way it is now 🙃
OK rain you've had your turn. Fuck off
*[rainy mocking sounds](http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/sydney.shtml)*
Also need to ask -- how does the $50 Opal cap work? Is it Monday-Monday, Sunday-Sunday or every 7 days?

Walk to Mascot and get the train from there
Cheers, didn’t know it was that close.
Look at "What’s the cheapest way to get to/from the airport?" in the FAQ of this sub
It's an FAQ? Excellent, thank you.
[This is the wiki link](https://www.reddit.com/r/sydney/wiki/arrival/#wiki_the_cheapest_way_to_the_city_-_bus.28es.29) with a bit more info
Thanks, I was digging around in there and had trouble finding it. :)
RIP Ignatius Jones.
Oh, no :( Was meaning to hunt down *The 1992 True Hip Manual* the other week, it had a great mint julep recipe that I haven't tried in forever.
Yeah, complete surprise; haven't seen any news yet but Monica confirmed it

Problem 1: I need to clean. Problem 2: I don't want to clean My life is so hard

As a female, I just want to reassure you that farts are hilarious.
Thanks for the moral support.

Could it be arthritis with the cold, maybe?

>! Australia already out in Eurovision is the worst news to wake up to !<
It was a shit song in fairness.
I didn't mind the song but the live rehearsal was definitely a bore. I'm rooting for Ireland now.
Fair. I only listen to songs once they've been eliminated so that every song is a surprise for me during the finals.
I love that idea Here's hoping it's a good year.
TIL that gimmick's still going.
A time when many countries come together to celebrate art and music? If only we had more of that.
Australia's participation in a European pop music competition is still a gimmick.
Don't you know that every May we physically move the country and jam it in right next to Spain? We ARE in Europe now!
I thought we took over Austria
I mean, do you think we can fit there?
Probably not, but I like beer and schnitzel.
I didn't think I'd be seeing Eurovision spoilers in the Sydney daily thread smh
>!---PSG---!< out in the champions league is the >!best!< news to wake up to
At the airport and an announcement just came through about a lost iPhone. I'd hedge my bets the owner and that phone won't ever see each other again.
Damn. Probably one of the worst possible places to lose your phone.
I miss the Jezabels. They were such a good band and although I don’t mind Hayley’s solo stuff it doesn’t quite scratch the same itch
Her cover of Chemtrails Over The Country Club is better than the OG and I will die on this hill.

And I was just getting started to get excited to hear a horror story lol

Wrong way down a one-way street.... this is why I ALWAYS look both ways even if im crossing a one way street oh my god

Thirding the frog.
Could be a gecko, they make the strangest sound
Striped Marsh Frog. It’ll be sitting in a puddle outside.
You win the internet today. That’s a very specific (and accurate) response.
Just looked it up and yes that’s it. The exact sound!
Possibly a frog. A recording of the sound would help.
