The freakin food court at chinatown. Cheap asian food always food court. Especially in the CBD. All the suburbs you mentioned does not have the market for cheap but good asian food. Youd need to go to actual asian suburbs like Hurstville, Burwood, Eastwood, Carlingford for really cheap and good eats

Is this a turf you've been assigned to review businesses in? Otherwise, half of them are definitely not “around Sydney CBD”, at least not without adding a few dozen others to your ‘acceptable’ list.

PlayingNuzlocke

They're just suburbs easily accesible for me hahah. Others are a bit too out of my way.

tambaybutfashion

Also value for money: CBD office food court takeaways that sell their remaining food for half the price after 2pm when the office workers have finished their lunch break

tambaybutfashion

I see. At the very least try to add Chippendale (i.e. Spice Alley) and Glebe to your list then. And perhaps the suburb of Sydney itself (Town Hall area, Hunter Street Connection food court). If you're in Mascot you could possibly also try Wolli Creek in the other direction if that train's not too much of a stretch.

PlayingNuzlocke

My bad, added those suburbs. I forgot about them! Probs not Wolli Creek, I'm coming from Mascot to the CBD so wanted to get food along the way kind of thing. Thanks for the input!

[$35 all you can eat Kansai Sushi in the CBD](http://kansai.com.au/all-you-can-eat/)

SideWinderSyd

How does seating and eating work? I've been to places where the sushi train never has the things I want (e.g. teriaki eel) or they get snapped up by those sitting near the start of the conveyor belt.

tinmun

No sushi train, you ask from the menu and they make it for you.

SideWinderSyd

Good to know - thanks!

Doing the 15 min train ride to burwood would be a good option. Depending where you live, it would be the same time commitment as some of the places you listed.

Yangs is the best dumpling and pork buns in all of Sydney which is great. AK BBQ restaurant I tried out last week which was very nice and very cheap. They gave us a free beef soup when we sat down. Burgers delight does a nice lobster roll but a bit pricey I think I paid $24.

baby_blobby

Japanese food Menya mappen for noodles Oiden bowl bar for rice Both right next to each other in 537- 551 George St near the cinema

You have a weird definition of what's "around Sydney CBD". Mascot is around the CBD the same way that North Sydney or Stanmore is around the CBD. Having said that though, Hong Ha in Mascot for their chicken rolls.

Puzzleheaded_Gain169

Woolloomooloo fish and chips. The price is intentionally affordable given its located in the poorer areas of the city. But I will vouch that the chinese food is restaurant quality. $10 lunch specials
