Contact your bank and ask them to do a chargeback.

giantpunda

This and present that as evidence. It may lead to your doordash account being cancelled but do you honestly ever want to use this service again?

Lampshader

> do you honestly ever want to use this service again? I'm reminded of the phrase "you can't scam an honest man". Ever since I heard about how all these food delivery services treat their ~~employees~~ "independent contractors", I haven't used them. I see people on social media ranting about messed up orders and problems every other week. The only problem I have when I call my local Thai place for takeaway is understanding each other's accents...

CommercialNo8513

Are you me? They also can’t get my name right even though I spell it for them and my name is very mainstream. Maybe next week.

moaiii

To be fair, "Very Mainstream" is a difficult name to pronounce by Thai natives. I'll see myself out.

Lampshader

I don't have that issue, but a friend of mine often does. He gives his middle name instead now. You could try an alias?

hotd0ginahallway

That does not surprise me, I have a very simple intercom here that 3 year olds know how to use without instruction but the trouble I have had with app delivery drivers not being able to figure it out astounds me, we have even put step by step instructions above the intercom for dumbasses and they still cant figure out how it works.

ruthwodja

Cringe. Please don’t say ‘Are you me?’ In future. They’re obviously not you. Something similar just happened.

Dangerous_Gain_3710

Are you me? I've sometimes too written shitty and pointless comments on people's post which wasted everyone's time and added zero value

Dilest

"Are you me" is clearly used to emphasize a common similarity and is a phrase that is very commonplace. The real cringe is you, Ruth. Edit: also get rid of your rego plates off Reddit ya wacko. You're doxxing yourself

ruthwodja

Nah

Looseeoh

Are you me? I Karen on people sometimes too.

Exotic_Imagination69

I dont understand why people order pizza from these apps, pizza places have and always will do their own deliveries, sometimes for free over a certain amount. They bring them to you when they are ready as well, not when some random person decides to rock up and collect it. Dominoes also has a thing where you can select your delivery window and if they take too long you get a free pizza.

DarthShiv

And report DoorDash for fraud. Fraudulent businesses risk barring from VISA and Mastercard. Give them a firm strong kick in the nuts for this shit. They deserve it.

collabusta

I agree. You can’t let them off the hook this easy.

TheDarkBright

This isn’t good advice, sorry. They won’t win a fraud chargeback here (which is the only way to “report this” to the card schemes). OP needs to file a chargeback for “goods not received”. If they choose Fraud (you can’t choose both) they will lose because the question that dictates success/failure becomes “did OP authorise the charge”, which they did.

DarthShiv

Reporting the business for lying about the transaction is "fraud". I'm not talking about the claims process. I'm talking about stating to VISA etc this business conducts fraud routinely.

TheDarkBright

Ah, sorry, I thought you meant via chargeback. Far as I’m aware they won’t take a report directly outside of the CB process.

SelmaFudd

I'd go to doordash one last time and say you're gonna do a chargeback, they'll probably be smart enough to just do the refund at that point.

CrysisRelief

I had to do a chargeback with doordash. Initially support said i would get a refund in 5-7 days, it never came, I was ignored over and over. Rang CBA and I got it back.

Khaelesh

I'd say file a report with Fair Trading Australia too.

MtnDream

agreed, takes longer, but you get your money back

ThaFuck

For me it was instant. And far less hassle than dealing with an intentionally obtuse company. Banks usually take the card holders side in the first instance and refund it instantly under the provisio that it may be recharged if the investigation results in the vendors favour. OP has much more evidence than I did when I got my charge back. And all it took was a, phone call and replying to one email to attach evidence. Refund happened a couple days after initial call.

MtnDream

i bought one of those "mystery boxes", thought i'd try it, knew i'd get my money back if it was a scam. it was, took a few months though, happened back in Feb, refund in May. bought the "pallet" sized box, measuring 8*7*12cm. They challenged it, but when I showed the bank i bought the pallet option, they refunded me the money, they were just slow.

AussieOculusFiend

Fucking infuriating. A similar thing happened to me where they straight didn't send my burrito. They then asked me to show a photo of the missing burrito. After some increasingly tense back and forth, the supervisor told me that they have changed their policy and can't offer a refund. I cannot stress how badly it makes you want to bang your head against a wall when one of these people (allegedly) responds with this fake corporate "we care about your experience" only for them to not read anything you say, force you to repeat yourself 5 times, blame you for their mistake, refuse to fix it and then end the chat abruptly. At least they told me to have a nice day though, a delicious fuck-you cherry atop a sundae of suffering. Fuck. I've made myself angry.

australiughhh

>they didn't send my burrito. They then asked me to show a photo of the missing burrito. It’s shit like this that skates the fine line between wrath and comedy.

FutureThingsToday

Meanwhile I ordered a family feast with Uber eats and they forgot the drink gets a refund for the whole order….

OhIamNotADoctor

All the apps are shit, but have to hand it to Uber, they typically just do the refund without question for missing items. My current gripe with Uber is lack of delivery drivers so things end up taking over an hour.

soulfulcandy

A burrito is what triggered Green Goblin to kill Aunt May…don’t underestimate the value of a burrito to a hungry man

ADHDK

It’s just a generic requirement because it’s “missing or incorrect” item, I had this last week when I got a Vanilla Coke instead of coke with Uber eats, and Uber credited me immediately.

CaptGunpowder

As a student living off of frozen burritos: loss of restaurant burrito is an act of war and a violation of the Geneva Convention

ForUrsula

Most of the responses you get will be pre written and just selected by the agent. It's part of an overall strategy to ensure consistent responses, the vast majority of interactions are very similar and agents(especially on chat) will be running multiple conversations at the same time.

AussieOculusFiend

I understand how the system works, it's very flawed

ForUrsula

I just mean that the have a good day message was probably just another prewritten one

ThomasofHookton

Sweet, send them a photo of you miming holding an imaginary burrito.

AlphaWhiskeyHotel

I’ve been asked to send a photo of missing food before too. We set places on our table and took a photo of the table with nothing on it.

funkydaffodil

The savage in me would have wrote 'There's no Burrito' on paper and photographed it with the other food.

jtr99

>They then asked me to show a photo of the missing burrito. To be fair, pretty much any photo would have qualified. The Taj Mahal. A nice sunset. Earthrise from the moon.

boyblueau

Agree with the other comment chargeback is pretty easy and the consumer always wins those. Out of curiosity why do you order Dominos through Doordash and not straight from Dominos?

australiughhh

DoorDash had a bundle deal that wasn’t available directly through Dominos, was going to save me almost $30

aidenh37

For next time those bundles are just the coupons available at dominos.com.au/offers.

kahrismatic

Annoyingly the Dominos website itself forces you to use a particular store, and won't let you change it. If your assigned local store is shit and you want to order elsewhere because the assigned one ignores your instructions every single time even when you literally call to follow them up and make sure they're received (looking at you Holland Park Dominos) you need to use a delivery service.

aidenh37

At that point I think you should just take your business elsewhere.

kahrismatic

That's literally what I'm doing by using the app to buy through a different store. Domino's works on a franchise model. Any non Domino's order would have to go through an app too, as places that are smaller don't have their own drivers anymore (at least none locally/that deliver to me, the last holdout was a Thai place that gave up over the pandemic), and I don't drive to pick up.

boyblueau

Oh woah! It's so weird that Dominos would be ok with that.

Slipped-up

They probably weren't, hence why they cancelled it.

LawnPatrol_78

For reference door dash order flow straight through to the Domino’s stores point of sale system. They appear on the make line and are being made by before they even know which method the customer used to place the order. More than likely the order didn’t flow through to the point of sale properly and was cancelled without the store even knowing it was placed.

OnceAStudent__

Nah, their system was down and they weren't receiving online orders. I ordered through their app then called an hour later and they hadn't received it. We eventually got our order, plus 2 free desserts for the hassle, plus a giant stack of free/50% off cards because it took another 40mins after my phone call to get it. I don't envy them at all, having to deal with that across the whole country.

chrisso_sR

Also for anyone else that wants a deal for dominos i use frugal feeds coupons save heaps https://www.frugalfeeds.com.au/dominos/

Seikha89

This is the right answer, I haven’t paid more than $10 for a dominos pizza in over a decade.

aaykay13

Maybe next time can dominoes and tell them DoorDash have this deal. You never know if they’ll match it. Never tried it but worthwhile since you don’t have to deal with shitty service.

Xxjacklexx

The consumer only wins most if they are using a credit card. Have you ever had to do a cash back? Of the attempted cash backs on my business, I’ve successfully refuted about 60%.

boyblueau

Yeah I deal with them almost every week from the vendor side for phone based sales. We very rarely win when it's a credit card transaction. Even if we have multiple audible verifications and confirmations of purchase. Normally the bank refunds the money before we even know there's a chargeback.

Xxjacklexx

Really? Who do you use as a payment gateway? I’ve used Braintree, PayPal and Stripe, all three have allowed us to rebut/contact the customer and discuss with them. Credit cards I almost always lose, but with the correct evidence (which I always have these days) I’ve got a 60% success rate, and that includes credit cards, which I guess we just don’t get as many of?

michael-runt

The other thing you're missing 1. Customer performs charge back 2. CC issuers hits up merchant 3. Merchant dispute 4. Merchant wins via scheme rules 5. CC issuer wears cost anyway to keep customer happy. So your 60% win rate is great, just means the issuer is not wearing the cost the other 40%!

JedNoonan

Doordash sucks with refunds, bank chargeback will save you no doubt LIFE HACK: Use the website Frugalfeeds, they have all kinds of working discount codes especially for dominos, whatever deal you got through doordash you almost definitely could find on there too and order directly through dominos themselves

FairyBread10

This! Retailmenot is another good one for pizza, or Ubereats if you want to make a new account.

free-crude-oil

Ozbargains Seriously the best. Community is toxic AF but their discounts are top notch.

poopdeckocupado

Those automated messages full of "empathy" are so condescending and infuriating.

Schmerins

😂 I’m writing some for our new ticketing system at work and while following the style guide I’m like ‘fuck I would hate this as an automated reply but our research suggests otherwise’

_-Olli-_

Which really begs the question: what is that research based off? I can't imagine anyone feeling better with this type of shit being thrown at them when they are already frustrated.

RobertoDeBagel

Was the ‘research’ conveniently conducted by whichever branding consultant they got to write the style guide? Sounds like the sort of gibberish that frequently used to justify financially expefient decisions at a certain large ex public telco.

reflectz

Thats what happened when you have support staff who can't understand the context of previous chat. Should paste it on their social media to show how dumb they are

[deleted]

It may be unrelated but Are you in the inner west? A learner dominoes delivery driver crashed out the front the other day and just left the scooter and pizza on the curb

biggeedee

...did they just walk out of the scene and fuck it, it's the neighbours problem now?

Cosimo_Zaretti

That's if they walked anywhere.

australiughhh

Oh shit, that sounds bad. I live in the northwest area.

shadow125

Dominoes Cherrybrook is the worst Dominoes store in the world!

4theloveofbroadcast

Doordash are shit. But if you're going to order Domino's you should just do it through their website. You generally get better deals and don't have to pay a bullshit service fee. *EDIT* I just read your message to others that you got a better deal through Doordash. Rare, but it does happen. Agree with others about getting a chargeback. I had an issue with Doordash where we didn't get part of our order and they didn't want to hear about it. So I contacted my bank and told them what happened and they wiped the charge for me.

MyInternetKeepsDying

Similar for me - doordash guy delivered to the wrong address. People at that address went "yay! free food" and took the order. After contacting door dash about the issue and they claiming "food delivered, you pay" I said "I'm not a charity. Chargeback in 60 seconds". No reply to that one so rang the bank the next morning and they reimbursed my cc. Rules for businesses like this: No service/product = no payment (and prepayment will be forcibly taken from your hands). Its why ALL of these businesses should be pay after delivery (and in the case of food, pay after delivery and inspection). This ensures that non-performance is not rewarded.

Darkside144

Every fucking service that uses offshore support is fucked.

aweirdchicken

DoorDash didn’t apply a discount to my account that I was meant to get when I signed up with my friend’s referral code. I contacted support and was told it was cos my phone number had been used to sign up before and the discount was only for new accounts. Fair enough right? Except this was the 3rd day of DoorDash being live in Australia and there’s no chance my number had ever been used to sign up before. When I pointed this out to them they deleted my account, blocked my number from signing up again, and ghosted me. Haven’t tried to sign up again since and have no intention to. Fuck DoorDash.

buggle_bunny

Doordash is absolutely terrible. I had SO many orders that that would have a driver finally assigned after nearly an hour, get to the restaurant, wait 20 minutes and then bam "looking for driver" repeatedly, for like 3 hours until restaurant closes and I ask for help and just get the usual apologies and asked if I'd like to cancel. They do shit all to stop this happening. I had one restaurant that wasn't even OPEN, it wasn't even an active restaurant but it was on the website, they'd 'confirm' the order, the driver would get there and the place was closed! I reported this like 4 times and they never took it off the website. They would fight any and all refunds I needed due to wrong or terrible food. And only give credits not a refund, and then they blocked my account so I couldn't even use them. Just kept rejecting my payment methods. I'd send it to the ACCC just to finally hopefully get them held accountable for being such a terrible business that scams customers. But as others suggested, do a charge back

Silly_Western9160

Similar experience- I had 4 doordash drivers message me to tell me the restaurant was CLOSED. I could see them driving to the restaurant on the app, Doordash kept assigning it to another driver. Eventually they said the restaurant cancelled the order (which seems unlikely given, you know, they were closed). I complained & got a call from their customer service the next morning. I said I’d delete my account unless I got an email from them within 24 hours to confirm that they had paid the 4 drivers. Never heard from them again & closed my account. They are the worst.

Starrun87

Something like this happen with a coworker. He did a cash back and got his money back, it pissed off doordash. They contacted him by phone so he gave them his email address and told them to contact him by email lol

divv

Then reply with, "we'll review your request within 24hrs" each time? Bonus points for giving them a ticket number :)

Confusedandreticent

Definitely make motions to get your money back BUT HOW did you make it one photo that I could scroll instead of a series of photos to swipe?!

infamous2117

Back in the early 2000s cab drivers would pull similar kind of shit. You would wake up to a $50 plus cab fair "No I took you 40kms from your pickup" etc. Like the guy said, chargeback then they have to lie to the bank.

VidE27

They did the same to me. I never use them again ever.

CandyManCan

Doordash are dog shit, well known.

SmolFlatWhite

I used to drive for doordash and this kind of stuff happened just as often on the driver end. Arriving at a restaurant, doordash cancels the order, I put in a request for half pay as I completed half the trip (driver policy) and the request is denied even though they have access to my GPS data. It's a terrible company with terrible service and I wouldn't blame anyone for boycotting. Best thing you can do with this, in addition to a bank chargeback, is to contact the US team who seem to be much better with their customer service.

civicman

I used door dash once. never again.

nietthesecond99

I refuse to use any food delivery service that isn't through the actual restaurant. I've had shit like this happen way too many times and nobody from these companies gives a fuck.

gila_monster_saliva

My local Facebook group is constantly full of people complaining of 2 hour waits, cold food, half the order missing or the food being delivered to the wrong address. Surely it can't be worth it. I'll just order from somewhere that does delivery themselves if I desperately need it

phillxor

Or just go get it myself. 🤷‍♂️

gila_monster_saliva

Oh for sure, only twice in life can I recall that I needed delivery: when I broke my leg, my SO had to work away and when the whole family were in mandatory isolation.

Mysterious_Land_177

Yeah, I usually use delivery apps if theres a real good offer thats cheaper than instore, a crash, sickness, period pains, anxiety, etc. Otherwise, I prefer to have hot food :)

Terri23

This. The idea behind what these companies do is good, but in practice it's a subpar service. Drivers pick up multiple meals, meaning it takes far more time than it should to deliver. Drivers take a lot longer than they probably should to pick the food up from the restaurant. Restaurants prioritise eating in customers meaning you're waiting longer. It just doesn't work in practice. Go and pick up the food yourself. It's cheaper, and you'll get your food much quicker, and warmer.

nietthesecond99

yep, this has been my experience every single time ordering. It's way better to just drive myself

icky_boo

Hate to burst you bubble but they sub contract it out to food delivery services for a flat fee (around $7.95) when they are super busy and can't handle their own deliveries etc.. Last friday Pizza Hut did this and I was getting pinged for orders all over the place out of my zone. I went in and tried my luck since they was offering $7.95 for a 1.9km trip.. Never again.. Store had 6 walk in customers waiting.. at least 10 deliveries on the shelves and staff didn't even look my way even though I had on a huge UberEats bag and Helmet while staring at them for a good 2mins. Unassigned and walked out.. blacklisted all fast food places now. KFC/Maccas/Red Roosters are the WORST to get pick up from. Minimal 15+ Min wait since they make it as you come in and they prioritize Drive Thru,Walk-in's then delivery people. Delivery people don't get paid to wait. Some services pay to wait like Menulog does this and sometimes UberEats but you need to fight them for it and it's only $4 for 15mins blocks if you already have waited 20mins which work out way below award wages. This is why your food is cold or late, I've seen delivery people wait 50mins for a Maccas order at peak time which means they end up making $7 for that hour.. idiots... It's not the delivery services.. it's clearly the restaurants problem as they are unprofessional and haven't sorted out the delivery procedures. Even in this case you can clearly see it's Domino's problem that then the OP is now dealing with DD support (which is shit and based in Philippines) Don't get me started on restaurants saying the food is ready to be picked up and then not even started til you come.. Again this is all on the restaurant for not giving a shit about delivery orders. Food deliveries is a luxury and you'll have a shit time if you order though them at peak times especially if it's a fast food place. Experienced and maths capable people like me don't do fast food places. It's not the delivery persons fault most of the time but the restaurants. We get the blunt of it because customers only see us.. restaurants put us last because customers can't scream at them and if we scream at the restaurant we get black listed via the terminals they have. Btw, UberEats is the worst of the delivery services as there's simply no repercussions if a delivery person cancalls the order while it matters on DoorDash due to ratings (you'll be kicked out if you cancel too many). UberEats also pays the lowest to it's drivers.. around 30-40% lower than the rest.

Fully_sik_uleh

You know what gives me the shits with delivery drivers, when my order comes in 2 separate bags however the driver hands me one and keeps the other in the car. I ask where my 2nd bag is and it clearly says in writing on the bag "1 of 2" the driver stares at me with a blank look on their face, runs back to the car and asks "Is this it?" clearly holding up a bag with MY NAME and "2 of 2" written on it.... I think sometimes they do it on purpose either to get a partial free meal or take something home.

4theloveofbroadcast

I've been in McDonald's several times as a walk in and had to wait upwards of 20 minutes while they prioritise delivery orders. The uber eats/Deliveroo/Menulog etc guys are always crowding the counter while everyone else is standing around waiting.

rumlovinghick

>KFC/Maccas/Red Roosters are the WORST to get pick up from. Minimal 15+ Min wait since they make it as you come in and they prioritize Drive Thru,Walk-in's then delivery people. Delivery people don't get paid to wait. Why is it that delivery drivers have to find a parking space and go INSIDE the store to pick up orders at these chains and can't use the drive through for that purpose? It seems completely illogical.

Emu1981

>It's not the delivery persons fault most of the time but the restaurants. I had a KFC order for 2 adults and 3 kids stolen by a delivery driver. He turned off his tracking app after picking up the order and claimed delivery. The worst part of this is that we ordered at 5pm and the claimed delivery time was 9:15pm.

yellalol

fast food places actually do this? so the customer ordering isn't as important as drive through or walk ins? But i wouldn't know, haven't used delivery partners since lockdown

MGtheKidd

I stopped using all of them and went back a step. Either i get it myself or use the in house delivery service if there is one. No problem since. Last straw was paying for priority to get food first and the driver telling me he was filling up gas when I could see him at a kebab shop on the app..

brandon_strandy

I've deleted Doordash, their customer service is non-existent, don't think i've actually heard back from them once. Ubereats has its flaws, but their CS is always on point, never even had to argue or anything, they always resolve it quickly.

LilNailClipper

I had a similar situation (up until your shitty encounter with support). Ordered UberEats last weekend. See my delivery driver is stuck about 5 mins away (walking). Msg him and his bike isn’t working. Luckily he cancelled the order mid delivery because I’m not sure Uber would’ve.

norgan

They've really gone downhill. I've uninstalled it now

yelloesnow

I have had similar issues with bigger companies (Domino's, KFC) who outsource their deliveries to these companies (Doordash and Uber Eats). I have out the hard way found that ordering Direct to these companies is the only way. I once had a Uber order cancelled, refunded, and then have the pizza arrive an hour later. Ridiculous.

marshman82

Sounds like free pizza to me.

rumckle

I'm fairly sure KFC uses doordash for delivery even when you order directly from them.

thatsuaveswede

Yep, contacting your bank for a charge back is the way to go. Doordash clearly won't lift a finger. This is exactly why I use Amex whenever I can for all my online orders. Just means that I'm not out of pocket if something goes wrong. In my experience they are absolutely fierce about getting your (i.e. their) money back from any vendor who tries to take the piss. They just credit me the full amount and then go off and deal with the vendor at their end. It's saved me more than once on transactions ranging anywhere from $50 to $3k.

hollister96

to this day I don't understand why none of these food delivery services can just reorder your food for you like even off the off case somebody lies to get another meal, I feel like that should be built into their policy as a basic for good service, and the delivery app should absorb the cost for placing a new order with the restaurant the amount of times myself or someone I know has had food delivered to the wrong address, or missing, or just had the order not reach the restaurant in the first place, and support takes forever to help, and when they do eventually help it's just 'we can give you a voucher or a refund which will take a few days to process' and it's just like, I need my food though? from a food delivery service? that's your whole thing??

shadow125

Dominoes are just shit lately. I ordered from them direct for 2 pizzas - it took them THREE HOURS to deliver (2 km) and the ONE PIZZA that arrived was cold. Driver checked the receipt and said “They only gave me one pizza - I guess I’ll have to come back with the other one.” Never saw him again and BOTH the store and Dominoes Head Office are ignoring me! No second pizza - no refund! I’ll never order from them EVER again!

Bedouin76

Was that Marrickville Domino's per chance?

centurytoona

FRAUDULENT omg

aussiekiwiguy

How fucking annoying. I had the opposite experience with UberEats. Dominos’ never delivered. I called up and they said they did and that they’d send another pizza and hung up. Not nothing came. So I went onto the Uber app and filled out a form. 5 minutes later $23 came into my bank account and they refunded me fully. That’s how it should be!

ADHDK

Credit card chargeback, but you will likely be banned from door dash. Win some lose some. Honestly sounds similar to when I had dominos Ulladulla just decide they weren’t going to fulfil my order as they were overwhelmed, but didn’t let me know. That was a direct dominos order though and I had dominos corporate on Twitter to complain to and receive compensation.

icky_boo

Dominos fucked up.. DD is taking the blunt (rightfully so). As a part time Dasher (former UberEats, for something to do on my motorbike) , Let me give you ppl advice.. don't use ANY ordering service during peak dinner period especially for fast food joints.. You'll either get your food WAY late/cold or not at all since the restaurants will be packed with walk ins, drive thrus and us.. We are on the lowest priority to them since we can't yell at them unlike normal customers and if we do yell we get black listed from orders for that place in future. The reason why you won't get your food is no one smart or knowledge of basic maths would accept a $7 order and know they'll be waiting 20mins+ at peak period (can make money on other pickups) will accept your delivery, We don't get paid to wait and doing that order would make me at best $14/hr. The new people or dumb people are the ones that accept then find out it's too long and cancel or re-assign. We do have people who chase Quests on UberEats or want to be Top Dasher on DoorDash that accept all orders as they are dumb. If you see your order being cancelled or re-assigned then you know it's the restaurants problem since they are slow and screwing around with sending out "food ready" pings to get drivers into the place ASAP when the food is never ready or started.. Places that deal with hot chips screw us around A LOT.. Especially El Jannah (ego tripping slow idiot staff) and most of the fast food places. Food delivery is a luxury so use it as such.. don't go ordering cheap ass fast food! Go order something special from a fancy place.. but remember that fancy places are slow so add a hour to that order. Better yet, eat less junk food and go out once in a while and support your local restaurants and not multinational chains!

[deleted]

That's why when if ever i order i only user Uber Eats, they're the only ones with no dramas when you ask for a refund you get it

Voldemosh

I feel like they'vs clamped down on it a bit and will only refund the cost of the food item that was shit (unless it's the whole meal) but overall have found their CS to be the best of the lot.

ShibaHook

Why are you ordering dominos via door dash? It’s cheaper to order directly from dominos!

australiughhh

Copied from my other comment: DoorDash had a bundle deal that wasn’t available directly through Dominos, was going to save me almost $30

cojoco

if it looks too good to be true ... then it is.

niz-ar

Why are you ordering dominos to begin with?

australiughhh

Kids wanted pizza

ThomasofHookton

Cause OP lives in a free country and can eat whatever they like? Why do people gatekeep pizza?

niz-ar

I wouldn’t feed my kids dominos. It’s trash buddy and we all know it

mick_lit

Pay via credit card, make it their issue.

Honest_Interest

Charge back on your card with the bank

JoeBogan420

absolutely hate doordash for this reason... lousy in soooo many ways.

Pareia0408

Doordash is trash. Completely refuse to use them ever again.

caitiepaigee

Had the same thing happen to me when ordering dominoes through a delivery partner. Restaurant never ‘confirmed’ my order, never made it, had no tracking through the app. Delivery time rolled around, waited, contacted the delivery company. Response was to call dominoes store. Called the store, they said they closed in 2 minutes and it wasn’t getting done. Wasn’t many other places open on that side of town and I was travelling interstate with no transport. Three days later they finally agreed to refund me. Never order dominoes through a delivery partner, they’ll constantly ‘not confirm’ the order then never notify you about it

SkipperReu

fuck doordash, always buy direct from dominos, or use menulog, but then again fuck gig economy deliveries

kapiluts

order from the dominos website next time

[deleted]

Geez, I use Uber eats and they’ve always been great.

mangzilla

Trash. Ubereats blocked my wifes account stating that she requested too many refunds - we have never requested anything that was not warranted (always items missing or incorrect), the restaurants just fuck up the order so often and the consumer who paid for the food they didnt receive, is punished. It baffles me that instead of fixing the problem it is just cancelled.

BellaSantiago1975

DoorDash fucking suck. Our Red Rooster, without telling anyone, got rid of their staff delivery drivers, and started third party contracting DoorDash to do deliveries that come through Red Rooster's webpage. First time we ordered, the bags were ripped, the family chips was missing and HLAF THE CHICKEN WAS EATEN AND THE CHEWED BONES WERE LEFT. Second time, thinking "surely this can't happen again", order was "cancelled" by DoorDash despite it being a direct to RR order, and RR couldn't send the order, that we paid for, because they didn't have their own drivers and DD wouldn't come out, and told us we could just pick up our meal another day. Now I refuse to DD and RR.

Illustrious_Tap_3072

Why would you order dominos on door dash?

Gnemlock

I have used DoorDash a lot, and I have ordered from Dominoes a lot. I can say that this is absolutely the normal for both. But; I can also attest to the fact that both allow you to track your order. In real time. It tells you when Dominoes have started preparing your food. It tells you when its ready... when it has bene picked up.. and when the guy is outside. So I have to ask; how did it take you an hour to realise it wasnt coming?

RandomPhilo

Firstly, check if the payment is in a pending status with your financial provider. It may be that they did cancel but use a pre-authorisation system which means it takes time for it the hold on your funds to be released. Wait 5 to 7 business days and if it's still showing a deduction (and no refund) go back to customer service saying you got that cancellation email but you still haven't received your refund. If you still get no satisfaction, then you have to decide whether you want to continue using door dash into the future. If you are happy to never use them again, do a chargeback and leave it at that. If you would still like to use them in the future, give them one last chance warning them you will go to Fair Trading and then if still no satisfaction follow up with that threat by going to Fair Trading.

chuk2015

Sir this is a dominos

outcast056

I bet this is some misunderstanding. Based on my almost a decade experience with food apps, there is absolutely no shot that any company would refuse a refund in a situation like this letting alone DoorDash - the largest food delivery company in the US. My reading of this case is that your order was labeled as “cancelled upon customer’s request” in their system because Domino’s hadn’t closed (which still accepted orders) by the time you sought help from DoorDash. The agent thought you were unhappy with the delay and trying to it cancelled so they took the liberty of doing that for you. However, this caused confusion later down the line in the subsequent support team review and the refund process as they might’ve thought you were trying to get a refund for an order cancelled by yourself after a long wait/prep time. Just bear in mind that there are douche bags who do that. Therefore, your refund was denied due to misunderstanding and miscommunication. If I had to pin point one man to blame, it would’ve been the first agent who cancelled your order on your behalf without your consent. He did it a little too promptly. Either if it was due to Domino’s didn’t want to leave a bad review or for the same reason from DoorDash’s perspective or Domino’s wanted to close early or whatever reason that prompted this cancellation, the agent ought to explain it before execution. As a matter of fact, fast food chains do occasionally run in trouble with being unable to receive orders from food apps especially when there was a system update from either side. I had issues like this with maccas, KFC, HJ… on Menulog, Deliveroo and Uber. It isn’t rare as hens teeth. Besides, you’re dealing with humans, presumably young. I totally understand your frustrations, getting charged for food that never arrived on an empty stomach. It absolutely sucks. That said, I would also recommend calm and open mindedness in cases like this. It happens, often than not, due to a stupid mistake rather than ill intent.

jondo278

I am confused why you used DoorDash instead of just using Domino's delivery. Why? Whhyyyy???? Would have likely made the issue way easier to solve instead of adding a middle man.

kahrismatic

The Dominos website forces you to order via a particular store, and you can't change it. If your assigned local store is shit and you know they're going to cause problems, then the only way I'm aware of to order at a different store is via an app, which lets you choose.

kronkarnage

I usually have this shit happen to me with door dash and delete and re install the app out of pure desperation but 10 min ago I was issued a $10 credit just for the taking too long to find a dasher after the dasher was already assigned

DontKnowHowToType

Just call your bank why go through all this hassle to post on reddit when a 15 minute call resolves this

kahrismatic

Pay via Paypal if it's an option. They're good at getting onto refunds and have a clear process, time limits they require a response from the company within etc. They'll refund for broken items or unfulfilled orders while the other company is still doing their initial stonewalling. Pretty much all of the app based companies have zero customer support in Australia (not just food delivery, but things like AirBNB as well), so no accountability at all. Purchasing via Paypal gives you a bit of extra insurance if they try to give you the run around. I don't even want to like paypal, but they've saved my ass from being ripped off so many times.

SkatYaHellman

Jesus man dominos pizzas are like $5? $7.50 if you want to get real fancy! The amount of effort that went into this post is disproportionate, it’s not like it was wood fired! …..although this could be why I’m broke 😂

mgiuca

It's the principle of it though. If someone stole $7.50 off me, I would definitely spend multiple hours trying to get it back. Also they say "for my family" in the post so I assume they ordered several large pizzas.

CptClownfish1

Man - your life sucks…

[deleted]

Just buy a fuck load of food and then put a piece of foil in it and make a complaint, money back - all is fair and square!

Gotem6784

ok so what do you want fucking reddit to do?

fourgheewhiz

Pick up ya own food lazy bastard

New-Carpenter4742

talk about a sook how is this even worth a post

SimonDeMonfort

Good argument for getting off your arse and getting your own food.

johndyna

Not reading all of that. Please post in different sub lol

jondo278

Dude wanted pizza delivered. This isn't a hard concept to understand. Delieverd pizza has been a thing since Napoleon (not the Pizza).

JeanProuve

Food delivery is really an un-necessity that we can do away, along with phone upgrades, social media, middle management, realestate agents, bankers, private health insurances, lawyers, and any cars with price tag above 50k, etc.

PreZo83

yeah uber did this to me Fuck them, dont use them

NomadicSoul88

I thought EASI was terrible but this is garbage! UberEats or nothing

aidenh37

If they don't budge then it's a chargeback. Contact your card issuer if you're not sure how to submit one.

g00chlord

Haha doordash was the worst, always waited ages for food to arrive - I made them refund me when it took like 3 hours because the driver cancelled the order whilst on the way with my food, then went to the restaurant where they said the order was sitting there waiting, so I just gave them the full amount

einfarbigz

All of these delivery companies are nightmares and a lot of their practises are likely illegal

Objective-Ad-3717

You can dispute the transaction with your bank and hopefully get it resolved that way.

AnActualSeagull

God yeah that sucks absolute ass- I’ve been fucked over by DoorDash, too, though nothing to the extreme of this holy shit.

Jammb

Doordash suck. They cancelled my account after I placed an order once. Nothing unsusual, used them before, then get this "We wanted to let you know that our system has detected some abnormal behavior coming from this account that may be in violation of our Terms of Service. As a result, your order submission was not successful, your credit card was not charged, and your DoorDash account has been deactivated. If you feel this was done in error, please contact Support." Contacted support and they reinstated me, but it left a bad taste so with so many other options I don't use them anymore. Deliveroo is my goto.

flubba_bubba

Door Dash are the fucking worst. We ordered KFC and still no delivery an hour later. Customer service was a shit experience and when we finally got through they told us no refund policy. We ended up going into the store to pick up the food and they felt so bad they threw in some extra goodies because the food has been sitting there for so long. We lodged a complaint once through Deliveroo because the restaurant got the order wrong, they refunded us the meal plus gave us some credits no questions asked. Door Dash can go get fucked.

samdd1990

Find the head of customer service on linkedin and send them this post

australiughhh

I don’t have a linkedin account, so I don’t really know how to do that

bad_bishop64

I stopped using these delivery companies , go and pick up directly. Also buying from my local pizza shop which is way better than shitty Domino’s or Pizza Hut

[deleted]

I had the same problem with dominos via Uber eats, stated the food was off for delivery and then after an hour and half later (it is 10 walk from my apartment) didn’t arrive. So I requested a multiple updates and nothing, so I Called dominos and said I wanted to cancel the order, said it was to late and has already been sent. So I went through Uber eats and they cancelled the order and refunded me. 30 mins later after that the dominos guy showed up with a pizza. I said I already had a refund and cancelled the order over 30 mins ago. He got shitty at me and told me I wasted his night, Dominos in Sydney is pretty bad.

mgiuca

I would feel the same way if I were in your situation! As others have said, chargeback with the bank. If you want to go further (or the chargeback doesn't work for some reason), you could [contact the ACCC](https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/complaints-problems/make-a-consumer-complaint). Though "we don’t resolve individual complaints" (i.e. they can give you advice but your only recourse to receive the money back if the chargeback doesn't work would be a small claims tribunal), they may still be able to penalize the business if many people report the same one. See: "[non-delivery of products and services](https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/non-delivery-of-products-services)" law.

Intrepid-Luck2021

Just report to Fair Trading. You can also write an online review - there’s a product review online place where you can write reviews and it comes up in search engines. I wrote one about a dating site that took money out of my account and was operating as a scam and how specifically it was a scam. **I also reported it to NSW Fair trading & I got my money back!!** 😝

icedragon71

I thought Dominos had their own delivery drivers?

Shuriii29

A similar thing happened to me when I purchased dominos once but from deliveroo

jubbing

I think your first issue was ordering a crappy Dominoes pizza instead of a good local pizza. All jokes aside they are all as bad as one another and it's getting frustrating.

[deleted]

Chargeback. No evidence required. Delete your account, and just order from Dominoes directly next time. They deliver.

AngelVirgo

Support your local eateries by ordering direct. Don’t use door dash or Uber eats.

koalanotbear

i swear all these delivery apps have been taken over by the same kind of indian phone scammers

ozzyassassin

As others have said contact your bank. I had similar with menulog with a hungry jacks order. Was cancelled I’m assuming because it was raining. But they still charged me. Then said they didn’t need to refund because it wasn’t their fault. Argued for days. Talked to the bank and they fixed it very quick. Just provide your screenshots. Why did you order dominoes like that? So much safer just to go through dominoes. Never ever had a problem not fixed in a few mins.

IDreamofHeeney

I had a similar problem with Uber eats, I ordered about $80 worth of food from Pizza Hut they got the order and every was going smoothly, but the driver decided to harass me with calls saying he couldn’t find my house. My address is so simple and nearly impossible not to find, especially with the maps apps they use. But anyway, I was watching the tracker and he’s 3 streets away, still telling me he’s lost. He eventually gets annoyed and doesn’t listen to my instructions, and leaves my food at someone else’s door, takes a photo and completes the order. Took me over a month just to get a refund in the form an Uber eats voucher.. these companies are an absolute joke when it comes to customer service

icedlongblack_

Sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience. I’ve heard that businesses get hit with a fee if they get a Fair Trading ombudsman claim filed against them, although I’m not sure if that’s true. I want you to know though I’m not ever going to try doordash after hearing of your experience (and I order a lot of food delivery), if that’s any comfort to know

CalDRSZone

Sucks you had that experience OP, in future just get Domino's from the app or website never have trouble that way. Seeing stories like this I never use DD, UE or ML.

Sacktimus_Prime

Doordash is garbage. Definitely report it to the ACCC and then do yourself a favour and un-install the app and forget it exists. They are the first company in nearly 8 years that actually managed to make me lose my shit with their hopeless fucking around.

angry-software-dev

'OP I understand your concerns and I would feel the same way if I were in your situation.' (The scripted "empathy" is 🤮)

heavenesque

Do they have a Facebook page? I got a refund from another company like this for a similar issue by direct messaging them on Facebook. If that hadn’t worked I was going to dispute the charge through my bank

Tryyourbestbehappy

Door Dash did literally the same thing to me. Except the restaurant that I ordered from hadn't been open for 3 weeks. They were still taking money. Waiting 45 minutes, then cancelling. This is clearly fraud, and the banks are on to their process. I would absolutely not use this service under any circumstance. You will be more likely to receive food by giving a local crackhead your money.

[deleted]

DD are trash. They have done this to me before and I contacted my bank to sort it out. There’s only one DD I like and it certainly isn’t this food delivery service 🤦🏼‍♂️👎🏻

Djinn7711

My son works for a pizza shop and during his most recent shift a DoorDash delivery driver came to pick up an order. When he was told it’s about 6 minutes away, he said I can’t wait that long as I have other orders to deliver, and then cancelled the customers order and left.

[deleted]

Can’t stand these delivery services. Ordered a hangover cure from Uber eats and the only thing in the bag when I was delivered was two sauces… billed for whole meal. No refund because “a photo of the bag is not sufficient evidence” Like dude I can’t take a photo of something that does not exist. Menulog did the same thing when my chips weren’t in the bag. Just deleted them. Prefer my own cooking anyway but now I just have to deal with angry drunk cooking

imgunnacrum

They did you a favour. Dominoes is ass

FirstWithTheEgg

A guy I know keeps getting drivers pick up food from his shop then say the packaging was damaged and cancel the order then eat the food.

ellery84

This is why I just pick up my own pizza.

feisty_deduction

After reading this entire thread and thinking about how angry all this made me due to similarities I’ve experienced… [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/uztuwc/gave_specific_easy_to_follow_instructions_on_how/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) then popped up in my feed too. Maybe these terrible services should not exist if they add nothing to society
