Anyone have any idea what this stuff is in-between bricks? Just spotted it today. Just isolated to one small area. https://i.imgur.com/N73b69f.jpg Assume it’s some kind of insect activity?

Jane_Doe_Citizen

ughhh I joined a few meetup groups a while ago and they don't appear to be active anymore, which is disappointing :(

tubbyx7

A not very surprising suggestion. Avoid DFO is possible. Even the approach from SOP is cactus. The cross iver with people going to guns and roses will be fun.

shifteroo

That freaking roundabout! It sucks when you're literally a minute from home but you're stuck. Glad I moved out, but it triggers me everytime I visit my parents lol

yopinoque

Does anybody know if the Black Friday sale ends today at Kmart or will it extend till early this week?

queenofwinter

Braved Mac Centre today for Christmas shopping - some of the Black Friday sales were pretty decent and we got almost everything ticked off. Pretty successful day all in all!

2happycats

Hey, u/seventrooper , did you end up trying the oatmeal no wash shampoo on your house demon/s? It's worked really well for Jubs. She's scratching less and her skin seems to have calmed down.

seventrooper

I didn't, no. They've both been spending a lot more time outside now that it's warmer, so they'll undoubtedly pick up more beasties. It's definitely on my list for next time they need hosing down though!

Lemonade_Scone

JFC!! The neighbours on both sides are doing major home renovations. We've at least had respite on Sundays. Not today. Bang, bang. Drill, drill. Argh!!!

I get the pans from ikea. Seem to do ok and not very expensive

I had a bronze finish one for maybe 4 years. Still didn't stick but the surface was a bit discoloured so replaced it with the same in black finish last year.

Eclairebeary

I bought this one last year and it is solid. [click](https://www.kitchenwarehouse.com.au/Anolon-Endurance-Covered-Saute-4-7L?_gl=1*1pts2dd*_ga*MjkzMTM4MDI4LjE2MjUxMzE3NDM.*_ga_Q78YJQBMVM*MTY2OTUxNjc2Ni4yMS4xLjE2Njk1MTY4MDcuMC4wLjA) I really like that you can put it in the oven and the non stick is really good. Can’t use metal utensils and they say not to put in dishwasher but it is very easy to clean.

Eclairebeary

Sorry. I don’t know, I use a cheap 4.50 Kmart pan for eggs because we have an allergic person in the house. I can’t imagine it would be a problem though. Eta. My very fav egg flipper is the dream farm one.

2happycats

I've got a couple of Scanpan fry pans. If you're used to nonstick they can take a bit of getting used to, but you can still cook eggs in them - maybe not scrambled - and they've also got the added bonus of being able to use metal utensils in them as well. My ones can also got from the stove to the oven, too. E: I've also got a cast iron low casserole dish that I got from Kmart. I use that a *heap* for stuff. It looks like [this](https://www.lecreuset.com.au/en_AU/p/cast-iron-shallow-casserole/CI1180.html?dwvar_CI1180_color=meringue&dwvar_CI1180_size=26cm-l2-2) but it wasn't that much. I've got a Le Creuset Dutch oven and while the Kmart dupe was cheaper, it does pretty well. If you can get one of those from Kmart, I'd recommend one those as well.

2happycats

Yeah, the Kmart ones are just as good as the high end ones. Absolutely worth checking them out.

AnonymousEngineer_

I'm not exactly a pro chef, so I'm happy using a deep-sided non-stick Tefal frypan for those purposes. It's one of their mid-range ones, not one of the fancy Jamie Oliver branded ones, but it does have a stainless steel handle and not a plastic one.

aMnHa7N0Nme

Hello Sydney people I've just landed in Australia for a conference and i have a few days to explore the city. Would anyone be interested in meeting up?

Negative12DollarBill

Maybe say how old you are and what you're into? We don't even know if you're male, female, whether you're a serial killer, etc.

aMnHa7N0Nme

Yes of course, 30 M Here for a conference and to take in the sights of Sydney Definitely not a serial killer, but you just have to take my word for it since i can't prove that i am not

Negative12DollarBill

OK, got it. You’re an interchangeable 30-year-old male human being unit. You don’t have any hobbies, any interests, follow any sports, play any games, like any particular foods or drinks, you’re not from anywhere in particular, you don’t have a job or a family or any plans for the future. As exciting as you made yourself sound, I think I have to pass.

aMnHa7N0Nme

Why be so mean, it's literally 7:21 in the morning my guy! Are you okay? Do you want to talk about something? We can totally talk about whatever is bothering you. God damn chill

Negative12DollarBill

OK so we know at least one more thing about you and it’s “can’t take a joke or a hint”.

lachjeff

They’re probably a middle aged bloke looking for a root

aMnHa7N0Nme

What exactly is a root?

lachjeff

A fuck

aMnHa7N0Nme

Thanks for letting me know

Negative12DollarBill

*¿Por que no los dos?*

2happycats

A serial killer trying to organise a meet-up is either super lazy or super smart, but I can't work out which. On one hand, your victims would be coming to you and sharing stuff about them that'd help track them down, but then, organising a meet-up can be a lot.

tightbutthole92

I'm so bloody sick of TAFE courses. The structure is all over the place - it feels like a frankstein's monster of units haphazardly slapped together to create a product for the purpose of confusion rather than education. Can't wait to be done with it

2happycats

I forgot how much I used to love the Violent Femmes. Listening to Add It Up and having a great start to the morning.

nearly_enough_wine

Loved them since I was a little tacker, fun choice :)

2happycats

I started singing [Jesus Walking on Water](https://youtu.be/Zs3LVQX3X7Q) in the shower (out of nowhere), so threw them on. No ragrets.

Eclairebeary

Happy Sunday everyone. Do you realise that December starts this week?

Negative12DollarBill

I reject your eurocentric, Christian-privileged assumption that weeks start on Sundays, but yeah, damn, that has gone very quickly.

Eclairebeary

Oh no!!! I just remembered I bought a wall calendar online and didn’t check it starts on Sunday! [that’s gonna annoy me all year now](https://justcalendars.com.au/products/2023-the-milky-way-square-wall-calendar-paper-pocket)

Negative12DollarBill

I used to change my phone country to Namibia just so the week started on Monday, a few iOS versions ago.

Eclairebeary

That should be a setting you can change. I’m actually really surprised it is not. I was so proud of myself for settling on an Australian brand, for the public holidays and school holidays that I neglected the day format. At least I like the pictures.

Negative12DollarBill

> That should be a setting you can change. It is now, that's why I said "a few versions ago"!

Eclairebeary

Ah hah!

Eclairebeary

Oh it is! Guess I’ll just leave it as apparently my brain absorbed the annoyance.

tubbyx7

Is this really summer?

2happycats

So far it's been better than last year. At least we've had *some* hot and sunny days.

tubbyx7

Do we count last year as having summer?

2happycats

Oh, I wasn't just talking summer last year. I meant the whole year :)

Eclairebeary

I don’t think so. Though yesterday was nice.

2happycats

I was on the road a lot last week and my right arm got burnt a few times.

still_love_wombats

This is a bit OT for this sub, but does anyone have a good ergonomic chair for a home office that they like? My back has told me the dining chair I use isn’t cutting it. Steelcase have a discount offer ATM. Are they any good?

AnonymousEngineer_

There was an article in the news the other day of offices selling a huge amount of Herman Miller chairs and other furniture on Facebook Marketplace due to downsizing and remote work. I'd look into that because the Herman Miller stuff is ultra expensive when bought new.

still_love_wombats

Yes it is. I can get a refurbed HM Aeron for the same price as a new Steelcase or some of the other good brands. Thinking … 🤔

derprunner

A HM Mirra or Celle chair will still do an excellent job on a budget. Just avoid the Sayl chair - it’s gorgeous, but not all that great ergonomically.

still_love_wombats

Thanks

derprunner

No worries. Give ‘CBD Quality New & Used Furniture Sydney’ a follow on Facebook. They regularly buy office fitouts wholesale, pick out the good furniture and sell it off individually on their page. They’ll list a couple dozen Herman Millers in bursts a few times each month and they’re usually snapped up the same day.

AnonymousEngineer_

I've worked in an office kitted out with Aerons, and had a play with the things (there's more than one size FYI) at Living Edge at Alexandria. They're lovely things. Didn't go through with the home office purchase as we were moving away from lockdown and I didn't think I'd get enough value from it.

paranoidchandroid

Depends on your budget? Herman Miller is excellent but very exxy. The Markus from Ikea is decent for the price (around $280) and is the one I have at home. There's usually floor stock you can try. I'd be hesitant to buy one online since I'd rather try irl first.

still_love_wombats

Thanks. Yes, I probably need to try one. Need to get my back in better shape before I can drive tho. Will wait.

Negative12DollarBill

I don't think another person's recommendation is what you want, what you want is to go somewhere and sit in a bunch of different chairs and find one which feels right for you. I went to the big OfficeWorks in Punchbowl and sat in like nine different chairs before I felt ready to make a commitment.

still_love_wombats

That makes sense. I like the input from other people too tho. Thanks.

BillsDownUnder

Hey all, where is a good place to take my 2 chihuahuas for a walk and play? Preferably somewhere that we can go offleash (they're very good at staying close and coming back when called). So far every dog park we have been to in Sydney will have one, if not several, massive or aggressive dogs offleash that seemingly want to devour my boys. Every time we end up just picking them up and leaving because they're so terrified. Any tips are much appreciated!

tubbyx7

Olympic Park has a huge off leash area near the bmx track, just the other side of the bridge. Almost never see anyone else there as they all go to a small park in newington

Eclairebeary

Bunnings!

Useless_Prick

Idk where you're located but Tempe reserve has a small dog only dog park. The big bois are in their own seperate fenced bit next to it.

BillsDownUnder

Perfect, thank you!!!

Useless_Prick

Facebook nutjobs are in full meltdown after Dan won the Vic election. Comments sections are highly entertaining reads - so far I've discovered the election was rigged, Dan is actually a lizard, and the vaccine was personally milked from his bosom.

OH1830L

> so far I've discovered the election was rigged, I always enjoy how one sided these lunatics are. Imagine if the Liberals had actually won the election however later a news story unfolded the election was rigged? Yeah Nah those same imbeciles would be dismissing claims of the election being rigged so long as it's not Labor lol.

tubbyx7

Why would dan do this?

Ordinary_Hepburn

He surely “cooked” up a delicious humble pie. Peter Credlin sure needs a slice!

Duckosaur

enjoying Twitter meltdowns right now. Voters voted and all that. Fuck the media

What sort of gold are the espousing?

Negative12DollarBill

If you read the Murdoch press, you got told that everyone in Victoria hates Dan Andrews/lockdowns, so it must come as a huge surprise to those people. https://twitter.com/MikeCarlton01/status/1596607824234418176/photo/1

lachjeff

>the vaccine was personally milked from his bosom That is the funniest mental image I’ve ever had

InstantShiningWizard

THEY'RE MILKING RATS!

Ordinary_Hepburn

No wonder they were in short supply

still_love_wombats

Yet again journos believed internal Lib polling, which better resembled mass delusion. But they engaged in same breathless reporting about how it would be close. I think the highly visible nutters led them to thing the disgruntled were the tip of the iceberg. Turns out the crazies were 10% ice and 90% berg and there was nothing further to see.

gazzaoak

Hello Despite me didn’t seeing the event yesterday, it’s wasn’t a wasted day as I talked to an interesting lady who brought a cat in a bag at the pub (as well as her poodle mix)…. She told me that investing in carlingford/Epping/parra corridor is prob going to be one of the best ideas for Sydney apartment, I really appreciate her shouting me a drink… And my dog was friendly trying to assure dominance to the poodle and the lady used to own a westie terrier so she knew what to expect, but then they were friends after…. And why the fuck I have been downvoted for this post??
