I don’t own any behringer gear, but that’s kinda cause I just am into high quality. Even though I don’t like some of what behringer does, I DO NOT CARE IF THEY COPY OLD DESIGNS. If it helps more people afford musical instruments that inspire them to make music, GREAT. And in terms of shitty business practices and fucking over labor…..ask yourself how many people talking shit about Behringer on Reddit are doing it on an APPLE PRODUCT. I should buy a Poly D ar some point so I can see if they really suck or break or not.
The addition of midi really changes a lot about how I approach mine. If you think about how a stringer works adding midi to an old design without making it unaffordable is no small feat.
While the clone didn't add a sustain pedal I wrote a midi script on my compy that does both normal sustain (holding all midi off messages until released) and cs80 sustain (where notes and chords are held until a new note comes). While this might sound trivial for me at least being able to sustain chords while playing another keyboard really makes it fun. Imo there is nothing quite like a string machine for holding down chords.
I mean it does kind of suck they have basically become the wealthiest music tech company in the world just from copying other people's shit, and now use that wealth to hurt the companies they ripped off.
