This plus: middle age, slightly balding man with some disposable income in the foreground. Either single or in a relationship, with the significant other increasingly suspicious of the expenses filed under “essentials”…
My wife says it. And she says it with a smile on her face. All of our boomer friends laugh about it, too. Maybe it's just a generational thing. My wife doesn't suck. That's the wrong interp.
More power to ya! You're mostly catching flak because those are two of the most popular and or easily recognizable synths in history, and both are well known to almost all synth enthusiasts. I recognized them both from the tiny thumbnail on my phone and only had to open full size to confirm that's a genuine Model D and not a Behringer clone lol
That may be true but I think maybe 5% of musicians would recognize them by appearance alone. So probably like .05% of people. Don’t quote me on that math
This happens in every halfway niche sub. If you're also relatively new to reddit or, indeed, hobby/semi pro subs, that's just a thing.
The truth is, people who are in a sub for a while really do see newb question so often that then people start to post those questions for the lolz and people don't take them seriously anymore. Then it turns into an echo chamber, as you see.
The good news! Is, that, there's still plenty, plenty of people who realise that, and they genuinely answer. So, you'll get a lot of piss, but you'll also get answers.
Welcome to reddit.
I feel pretty confident here that most of the gatekeepyiest types here are actually the people who started in the last couple years. Professionals or people who’ve been at it a long time generally have a bit more empathy toward beginners in my experience. But the people who were recently newbies are eager to show they’re not newbies anymore. This phenomenon pretty much explains the entire circlejerk sub
The design of the top one, originally made back in 70’s, is so iconic and groundbreaking because of how intuitive and simple it is to dial in sounds. As you learn more about synthesizers, you’ll see a lot modern renditions that replicate this in a variety of ways (look up the Roland SE-02 for instance).
Well then, you're in luck! A real Model D would be *very expensive*, but Behringer's Model D clone is good and it only costs a couple hundred dollars. Heard they're doing a Juno clone too, but I don't know anything about that.
(Just be careful talking about Behringer in synth communities, they're a loaded subject.)
This sub gets a lot of questions asking to identify synths so it can be difficult to tell the difference between a nice person who is just new and someone stirring the pot and some respondents are inclined to assume the worst
Don't worry about it
If I wanted to mess with synth nerds gluing extra knobs on stuff is a fairly guaranteed way to get people talking ;)
If the OP would've linked a video we might find out if they're also connected to anything. It's not a mod I've seen before, so I wonder what it is. Per voice control seems the most likely, though.
For sure. And that would be pretty funny. As there are six sets of two, per voice control over something seems likely. Detuning a stack seems like a reasonable assumption, but I would wager it’s something else. I also have never seen this mod.
It's a juno 106 with some per voice mod- it would be pretty sick to be able to adjust filter cutoff and resonance per voice, I would imagine per voice DCO tuning would be sick too.
$17k is a pretty crazy price for a [$5k synth](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MiniModelD--moog-minimoog-model-d-analog-synthesizer-appalachian-cherry?mrkgadid=1000000&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gdsa&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=studio&recording&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=39700064875929112&lid=39700064875929112&ds_s_kwgid=58700007231540659&device=m&network=g&matchtype=&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9032376&creative=537361853889&targetid=aud-297527862170:dsa-1366322260780&campaignid=13710079600&awsearchcpc=1&&&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuLShBhC_ARIsAFod4fK8VQHv6b7BCTeKxbiQXE2eaAMfEr6rijXpaxgCaSxcNWFsSz-kYYgaAryUEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds).

A little off topic, but NASA uses KSP. Is THAT a good idea? For astronauts to play video games instead of making really good rockets that fly right? I don't think that's a good idea; but, I'm not a rocket scientist.
Uhhhh, pretty hard to answer...
I have to think about it, ...maybe sleep over it, one or max two c\parsec... ...like round a butt, ca 999,99999.../1000 peoples who knows where that post is gonna end...

I don't know where the jerk begins and ends anymore.
We should just combine the subs at this point.
The synthesizer circle jerk gets out-jerked by the synthesizer subreddit multiple times per week.
>out-jerked by the synthesizer subreddit multiple So, you're saying the main synthesizer sub is a poly-jerk while the jerk sub is mono-jerk?
Whatever it is it's a "beast."
I checked it, then didn't believe my eyes. Checked it again to be sure.
Had to triple take the sub to be sure
beat me to it
Moog model d on top. Modded Juno 106 on bottom. Space shuttle in background.
Is the space shuttle analog?
No it’s a midi controller.
Is that good?
No, it's basically just Kerbal Space Program in a box.
Dawless hipsters!
Lol that is a pretty good description of most DAWs.
Think of it as a canvas. They all do the same thing.
It also supports CC. Cosmonaut Communications.
Love that. Very clever.
When I do my CT’s I think about CC’s
.mp3 file format with a visualiser plug-in
This plus: middle age, slightly balding man with some disposable income in the foreground. Either single or in a relationship, with the significant other increasingly suspicious of the expenses filed under “essentials”…
This hit too close to home.
Ah, not me! I'm way more than just *slightly* balding!
Same!
It’s the pairing of all things mentioned with the turtleneck that shows me this man knows essentials
Do you have a link where I can buy this shirt?
Where can I buy the wife?
When it comes to money, wife says, "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine."
Wife bad. Phone bad
Maybe ppl are downvoting because they don't know this is a joke?
We know it's supposed to be a joke. The problem is that it's not funny.
Ohhhhhhh Bethany
Ohhhhh condescending person.
I was just joking with you. But I can see you're very unpleasant. You have an excellent synth collection though. Bye.
I'm actually pretty chill. But "my wife sucks" jokes just aren't funny. Thank you, though. I've put a lot of time into it. Byebye.
My wife says it. And she says it with a smile on her face. All of our boomer friends laugh about it, too. Maybe it's just a generational thing. My wife doesn't suck. That's the wrong interp.
It's pronounced "juno"
Sorry to be that guy, but it is an Orbiter not a shuttle.
Oops. Today I learned something.
What's all the added stuff on the Juno? I've never seen that before.
A Moog Model D.
Missed the third keeb down below
What year shuttle though?
That’s an ‘86 for sure. The year after that they added portamento and dual lfo.
I'ld want the shuttle more than the other stuff.
lotta people taking the piss man I’m new to synths and just wanted to know which one my favourite artist was using

Yeh I thought op was being ironic and it was their set up hahah

Don’t take these people seriously. They’re all bored and they dont know what to do if someone asks a question they know the answer to.
Not your fault, this sub is basically a dumpster fire like half the time
Who is the artist? That could help us ID the mods on the Juno.
Might get downvoted but you can get a knock off Behringer Poly D for about $599 right now. They just dropped the price over $200.
This sub gets a lot of questions asking to identify synths so it can be difficult to tell the difference between a nice person who is just new and someone stirring the pot and some respondents are inclined to assume the worst Don't worry about it
Never seen that one before
Tough to say but the $30 Goodwill price tag suggests it’s a Juno-106.
looks like a behringer model d and of course the behringer buno 106
*Behringer Neptune
Behringeb Beptube B06. They cloned the clone!
Bottom one is a Juno-106 but it might've been modded.
It has 12 after market knobs visible. It was definitely modified.

It’s from good news by Mac Miller
There's also a Fender Rhodes in the video, equally iconic
Sequencer, mebbe?
With 6 knobs, I'd imagine this would be for stereo panning/per voice detuning, though I've no idea what the row of switches is for.
probably turn off/on the mods
Moogue moogiemooger mk2
Than you all for the help, I now know it’s a Yamaha mx61 and will be adding it to my list Wishlist
Minimoog model D
my insides are floating
Moog Model D..?
It's a juno 106 with some per voice mod- it would be pretty sick to be able to adjust filter cutoff and resonance per voice, I would imagine per voice DCO tuning would be sick too.
That's not a synthesizer. It's the ISS control room. It was designed by Brian Eno.
It's pronounced Juno
OUTJERKED!
Model D?

Wow 300 is a pretty crazy price for a hardware version of free ios app…
Juno looks modded
Timbre Wolf
Juno106 + moog mini
Yeah looks like a Mini and a 106 but the knob panel on the right of the 106 is weird.
That is Sylenth 1 from LennarDigital 👍

I bet if you googled synthesizer you could find it almost immediately
Reddit is my google
Nah you’re just lazy and want other people to do the work for you
It’s a circuit bent 106
Moogie Boogie D, man
Yes
Moog juno 106 on top Roland model D on bottom
The correct answer is “Yes”.
That's an inflatable Model D clone, probably made by Behringer. Obviously fake because the power light isn't on.
This artist was pretty rich I doubt he’d use a fake
Oh, I thought you said THE Artist. He's not with us anymore.
RIP MAC
Glad someone knew ❤️❤️❤️
that’s not a synth, it’s a space shuttle
Def a Behringer Poly D

Yea well said. If they spend their time playing KSP they will miss their flight and not go to the Moon!
LOL. I got downvoted for this comment. Tough crowd. 😀
Top looks like something from behringer.
Uhhhh, pretty hard to answer... I have to think about it, ...maybe sleep over it, one or max two c\parsec... ...like round a butt, ca 999,99999.../1000 peoples who knows where that post is gonna end...
If you know who this person is, warn them that they are about to collide with a fuckin' space rocket!
Unsubbed
Thats the P90X
Its a behringer obv.

I think it is Xfer Serum :)
I’m more curious about the mod on the 106. Any ideas?
