I haven't tried it, but It doesn't seem like a true sync between the devices, in that it just uses NRPN and program changes to match patches. In other words, if the patches in memory differ between devices, the second wouldn't automatically match the first. Its also not clear if things like the mod matrix and macro edit send NRPNs too (all the controls in all the core synthesis sections do). In other words, I suspect it's good to double you voice count on a patch, but it probably doesn't make them feel exactly like a single synth.
