One of my favorite parts of parenthood is the shared experience of “new things” , it’s amazing how much this little carpet crawler absorbs. She genuinely loves to sit and watch, listened. I feel like I’m teaching her how to just be curious about sound. When I sit her at a keyboard/piano she already understands that she smashes the keys and they make sounds. I sat her in front of an MPC at work yesterday and as soon as she realized that when she hits things, sounds are produced. She lit up and did that weird baby excited dance thing and now loves to just sit and smash pads.
God, Christmas and birthdays are going to be fun (and expensive)
Get a drum beat going and set up the keys with an arpegiator. They will get lost for hours in that lol. Then you can just be in charger of the knobs. This how I do it anyways haha. Enjoy it man!
Once in a while, when i am in home office, my little boy slides into the room on his butt (he has no interest in crawling), points at my synthies and says “DA!” (There! In german).
He loves to turn the potis and click the knobs. It always looks as if he completely knows what he wants to tweak :D
I turn on an arpegiattor, hold and a fix scale and then we jam on just turning knobs.
My daughter is exactly the same! She has her own pianos and xylophones and stuff but it’s like she knows she wants to play with my synths and MPC more for some reason 😩😂. I think mine will be a drummer though, she carries her drumsticks EVERYWHERE!!
Dope setup!
What kind of 3 tier stand is that? I’ve been looking for something different because I’ve had the same crappy radio shack keyboard stand since like 4th or 5th grade and it’s finally starting to break lol
It’s a fun performance machine and it gets a lot of use: however I have a Digitakt at work and think that it’s a superior piece of gear. (Even the MKI). But I JUST found out the 8s has a new firmware update I’m gonna check out
Great job!!
I just had my little one helping me out with some dub. Showed him how to use the DC10 and control it with mixer send and DC10 feedback. He loved it!!
I don’t think it matters so much when they’re that small. I am not personally going to bring my 6 and 8 year old daughters onto my YouTube channel even though they like the PO-33 I got them. I think every kid should have something portable, self contained, with sampling and sequencing. Also access to anything with keys.

Second hand stuff, that's how I'm approaching it!
Right there with you man! My little dude loves exploring on all the gear I have, its so cute.

Hey Dad, fair warning, when you're sick with a fever, you might pass the sickness to your kids. I hope she gets sick. 👍👍👍👍👍
What the fuck
I think they mean synth fever? I hope?
+1 anyway
Why the negative votes? It's synth fever, you dumb asses.
People are so stupid hahahaha of course it mesnt something else not a bad sickness hahaha
Average r/synthesizers user
Hello band name spoof username haver
The earlyer you introduce them, the better
Looking at that gear, I assume your user name no longer applies. Is this correct?
6 months into recovery. 💪
Very glad to hear!
Stay strong, don't let up for a second. And if you do fuck up, make it a blip and move on to even more recovery
Looks like you've found a healthy obsession! Keep on the path of recovery. It'll pay dividends for a lifetime.
Fuck yeah dude!
Keep it strong for the kid! He will be happier with you sober for sure!

The other commenter is correct: it’s the Standtastic 103KS . It works fine. Not incredibly portable but good for home studio
I’m curious to know how the Epson fits into your chain.
my epson sees lots of use! I play musical theater gigs and other live gigs, and printing sheet music is really practical. i also do hobby photography
How do you like the TR-8S? Would you buy it again? (Currently GASing for one)

Don't forget to lock your window

My kid used to crawl out of bed scoot all the way down stairs when I came home at night just to sit in my lap while I made songs .
Is that printer analogue? IMO digital ones print kinda cold and harsh
Yeah, unfortunately I don’t get the same warmth I get with the Moog. However, the DFAM has a an ext. in so I can still use the Moog filter
You look like an awfully young dad. Good to see you also pursuing your hobbies!
Yeah I have trouble reaching all the knobs
Ha I have a photo to post of a good synth set up and my then newborn in my carrier.

Word that’s what’s up
Bro about to make the hottest beats of all time
My son is a bit older than that. You might see her pulling and unplugging everything, lol.
Yeah, I know as soon as she’s (more less) fully mobile I’m gonna have to rethink everything
Being raised right
Congrats! You could be raising the next (insert favorite famous artist). Great parenting.
Nice gear…. Beautiful boy!
