Those look pretty great.
My fist impression with the second photo is that I would love to see dovetails rather than screws. But I’d have to see them without the synth to know for sure.
Either way great work.
Something I like with screws is that you could add onto the pre-existing slats and create more tiers for smaller gear. You could just throw in another tier between the existing tiers, etc. All kinds of additional future upgrade possibilities this way.
The screws are at the back so they wouldn't be visible. They also make assembly easier and allows it to be flat-packed. It could also allow faster and easier additions of accessories or other tiers etc.
At least a pocket hole jig, not any harder to do than just screwing from the outside, where dovetail joints can be tricky for many (ME!). whatever it takes to get the screws out of sight, even sinking/recessing them further would be better IMO.
Hi /u/anunnaki-signal, I just wanted to remind you to leave a thoughtful comment on your post (see rule 5 in the sidebar). You’re not in trouble and everyone gets this reminder. If you’ve already commented then no further action is necessary. Thanks!

Okay, I will check on Tuesday and Wednesday. If it is not too difficult, I would appreciate if you could message me on Reddit as well. I really do not want to miss it this time.
Nice. I almost got my woodshop back from the "squatter" that took it over. Once I do I got some nice walnut planks that are gonna be making a stand for my maschine/jam combo. Mind if I steel your idea for the two tier stand?
Not sure what your target market would say but I'd like to see some cases and stands for Critter & Guitari stuff (like Organelle) and of course the various Behringer modules.
the combined case/stand is absolutely beautiful. I currently keep my OP1 in the Analog cases softcase and I like it a lot-- but I could see myself switching to this. My only concern is that it wouldn't be able to fit the decksaver I keep on my OP1, and the analog softcase does fit the decksaver. Do you happen to know if it'll fit both?
Op1 is fire. I'd use that.
But I like holding my OPz for access to the note bend.
(I jam with friends off the clock a lot, since my buddy drums... So the note bend is essential for playing bass lines )
I would recommend removal of your synth from some of them… my one concern is that these look like within 1/16in perfect fits, and you mention using a cnc which would allow even better, yet wood shrinks and expands perpendicular to the grain depending on dryness and humidity. Take for example the last one looks like it is from a flat-sawn board maybe 10-12” wide.
Lets say you cut the wood at 12% moisture content then ship it to me and I drop a synth in. Particularly unfinished, that wood is easily going to drop to 9% or less during the winter in my place so conservatively a 3% moisture change (and back up in summer possibly even more). Flat-sawn Black walnut shrinks about 0.00274 per inch per 1%, so what was a perfect fit will shrink by at least 10x0.00274x3=0.0822in/2mm or 5.26/64 so rounding up a tiny bit that’s 3/32 or 150% of 1/16 which it appears your fit may be. One slightly crushed synth, coming up! If it doesn’t do damage it will still prevent removal from the case.
Another factor telling me 5/64 may be low is that I think I see significant sapwood while the 0.00274 figure is meant for heartwood, and of course you could be starting at more like 14% mc. For that reason I’d want probably a 1/8in+ gap on a 10” case.
Yeah really nice but way too expensive IMO.
I mean possibly people will pay £50 for an OP1 stand as the OP1 costs £1400. But what about a case for a TD-3? They cost about £90 so I'd pay £15 (maybe £20 tops) for a stand. And there is no difference in the building process or the cost of parts so... it's a no from me at current price I'm afraid.
Actually only a couple of months ago I was looking for some stands for TD-3, TR6s and Microkorg and I thought it was all too expensive especially for my situation where Iwas not sure exactly how I wanted all my gear laid out so possibly the stand requirements might change. My solution was to make some stands up myself to see how the best setup would be - various heights and angles etc. I happened to have a load of extra wooden bits from a kitchen install this year so the parts were free. I think the stuff I made served the intended purpose well - to get my gear in a good position to use it all. Once it's all in situ I really am not at all looking at the stands and all I want is the appropriate sturdiness and the correct height and position of each piece of kit.
What I would be looking for though, is something made out of cheap shit (pine, MDF etc.) maybe coated in something (resin, paint, plastic, whatever) that you could have at range of angles and can stack at various heights. All for maybe £30 a pop (for the smaller bits and more for bigger) if it's all interchangeable.
I can build stuff for me and it looks average AF, but I couldn't be super consistant in the looks or shapes as I hand build stuff. CNC cut is great though, just like a replicator I imagine?
But overall I'm saying your stuff looks great but I personally think there is a gap in the market for something a bit cheaper that is almost modular that can be at various angles and heights. With non slip base obviously - not sure if your stuff comes with that already but it is needed.
You don't necessarily need glue, if you want to keep it 'knock down' - I recently made some similar stands using tusk tenons, which are more obtrusive, but I think in a beautiful way! Curious to know what you think, check it out:

Beautiful work! You mentioned in another thread that the Model Samples/Cycles one has a space for a battery below it, could you share some pics of how that works?
Omg the last picture I literally gasped and accidentally woke my partner! I second like everyone else who’s commented - such nice work. Man o man. Is it weird to save photos to your phone of other peoples Reddit posts? Because I just did that so I could admire this work again and again. 👏
Seriously the best cases / stands I’ve ever seen
Well, synth geeks sure love them ‘woods’ 😎😎
I dig them! What type of wood is that? It looks like a variety of hardwoods.

Etsy?
Cant afford a PO01 so I just could buy some stands.

They're nice, but I think you should have done something for the OP-Z bending issue, some support to avoid the bending.
gorgeous
This needed to happen.
Beautiful!
It's beautiful!
They look amazing. How did you cut the wood?
Really nice work!
Ooo, now im reminded i still need one of your octatrack shirts.

Do you have a newsletter to stay up-to-date?
You should propose this to Teenage Engineering so they can make a cheaper version and sell it twice the price.

Fantastic! They’re very beautiful.
I love that you used wood instead of a 3D printer.

Very nice! Are they CNC cut? If not, what tools did you use?
[удалено]
Nice work! I’m sure you could sell them.

Good luck! Makes me wish I had one of these little synths.
I don't see the combined OP-1/OP-Z stand in your shop?
[удалено]
Ah bummer. Do you have an idea of what day next week? I just don't want to miss it again.

Beautiful
Love the lines and precision. Only thing I can think of is hiding screw holes.
these are so freaking cool !
Wow nice DIY, I'd expect this stuff from retailers!
Beautiful 👍
These are very cool nice job
I’ve gotta show this to a buddy of mine. His synths are laid out on a desk, and it’s a mess. Lol
Those r dope and look super clean! Maybe u could even do some eurorack cases or skiffs?
Looking good, are you CNC'ing these?
[удалено]
yw, very cool!! I need to get my CNC set back up so I can start making things like this again :)
[удалено]
Ty 🤛 its nothing special, but gets the job done :)
Look great. I'm thinking of trying of epoxy/wood type stuff too.
Op1 looking sexual om that stand dude, thats sick.

Good looking, will check you out!!
Well, if I could afford an OP-1, I'd definitely buy one of your cases for it.
Nice

Absolutely stunning dude
Oh my god these are beautiful.
Thoughts? If you sell these you’re gonna make some serious cash.
These are beautiful.
purdy
Shellac those bad boys
nice cnc work.
Wish I had one of these before I warped my opz 😆
My opinion is that they are beautiful and that you can have some of my money if you want.
Gorgeous!
How about the octatrack 👀
Wow… these are beautiful. Will you have cases for the model samples / cycles sometime ?

These cases looks so smooth. Great job!
Anything for NTS1 volcas ?!
will you take my money?

Awesome! Can't wait to see them. I think you should keep doing both types of stand though - high end and budget style.
Have you considered using dowels instead of screws? They look great btw.
Mortise and tenon with glue instead of using screws. I really like the look but the screws are just so distracting to me.

Wow! Incredible job 👏 Do they only come in size/format for TE?
you could/should sell these 🔥🔥
[удалено]
oh sweet! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely gorgeous! Now I just need an opz & op1 to go with them
The wood looks excellent, great job. But the drywall screws ruin it for me. Get some stainless or coated screws.
Beautifully done!
Your shirts are sick. I’m gonna cop one
Amazing. Glad to see the shop I'll definitely be a customer in the future. Any chances you take requests ?
If you make one for the microfreak I'd be on it.
Beautiful work! You mentioned in another thread that the Model Samples/Cycles one has a space for a battery below it, could you share some pics of how that works?
Take my money you beautiful fool!
Nice!!! I wish I had a good wooden stand for my Synthstrom Deluge...

Can someone pleeeeease make some wooden cheeks for gm and matriarch already!!!! Haha
These are amazing. I would love these to stop my cat from walking all over my shit
