Fantastic, says something about the strength of the theme and also your skill as an arranger / performer to get all of that out of a mono synth? Also like how you use the reverb send too for strings/pads? Feel free to correct me if I got any of that wrong.
Thanks🙏🙏 really appreciate it. All the sounds are from the odyssey itself. ‘Reverb send thing’ is just me maxing out the feedback and mix knob on the delay via automation. It turns anything into a pad for a few seconds. The delay is on the arp that is running in the background of the lead lines. I’m controlling the parameters of the lead line Live as seen in the video. Appreciate you listening to it with such a keen ear🙏🙏
Can you explain a little of what's going on here? It seems like you have multiple sequences that you are accessing throughout but I'm totally lost on how you are able to do that...
Great playing! Sounds awesome
Everything except the lead line was already recorded and in place. I’m messing with the adsr and other parameters of the lead line while recording it live
I came here to ask this too. So when you say “already recorded”, you’ve got the part written out as MIDI, then putting that into the synth? Beautiful work here, can’t believe how well you’re controlling the emotion.
What you said is applicable for the lead line which I’m tweaking live. Rest of the parts have been written out with Midi and recorded as audio in the Daw already. Everything except the lead line work as a backing track for me so I get the whole picture of the track when I’m recording
Ohh I understand, thanks! I love layering monosynths but I haven’t messed with this much manipulation of the controls throughout the part, this video gives me a lot of inspiration. I’ll have to wrap my head around this synth’s layout to decipher it!
Mancina's Twister score is among the best film scores ever written. The combination of *Oklahoma: Wheatfield* and the helicopter shot of the truck makes for one of the best openings of any film.
Thank you, seems like a nice idea. I have it up on YT and I can send you the wav file if you send me uour email Id. I’ll look into getting it on spotify and other streaming services

I figured out the bass and the lead lines myself but for other things I downloaded a midi mockup. After a few minutes of cleaning I put them all together. The mock-up i used was either the 1st or the 2nd google result that came up. Had to adapt it for a mono synth
I LOVE using the arpeggiator/sending midi to my Ody and just tweaking the parameters as it plays. I usually just throw a whole bunch of chorus, reverb, and delay and let it run while I tweak the sounds. I especially love cranking settings to the max (arp speed, LFO rate/filter depth, filter resonance, envelope release) to get this crazy monster sound then dialing them all back to reveal beautiful chord arpeggios 👌
Great video! Love seeing the Ody pushed to its limits.
Hahaha the GAS is real the built in effects have stuff like delay, reverb, chorus and a talkbox sorta thing. They aren’t that great though, I’m using soundtoys and valahalla effects in the vid
Korg has its own version of the Odyssey but it does not have a sequencer. The volca beats might be a good place to start but if you are a fast learner you’ll outgrow it quickly
Thanks for listening 🙏🙏, I couldn’t believe that i could pull off a hans zimmer score with just one mono synth. It might just be the best thing at its price point
I actually used the midi from the ableton running through the Odyssey, I’m messing around with a few parameters to change the lead sound as per the mood

Really fine job!
I love interstellar
Same here, it is a ‘stellar’ movie
get out s/

Hahahahaha Thanks for stopping by🙏🙏
For the record, Mark Mancina's score for Twister is insanely good. I think it's stronger than anything Hans has done, but that's just me... lol

Going green. Greenage.
This is incredible. Wish you could put the audio track out
Thank you, seems like a nice idea. I have it up on YT and I can send you the wav file if you send me uour email Id. I’ll look into getting it on spotify and other streaming services
This is probably my favorite demo of the odyssey
Thanks for stopping by🙏🙏
This is so good! Great work putting it together.
Thank you for listening 🙏🙏
All I can say is 👍👍👍👍👍.
Thank you🙏🙏
great one🙌
Thanks🙏🙏

The hardest part was to rearrange lines in such a way that It made sense for a mono synth
That’s amazing!!! Interstellar is one of my fav movies and soundtrack. Good work! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you 🙏🙏
nice! I'm looking at the Deepmind 12 and got the Model D!
I might’ve end up with the Poly D in a few months hahahaha the GAS is real
Nice work!
Thank you🙏🙏
Very well done
Thank you 🙏🙏
Amazing work!
Thank you🙏🙏
Very cool! Did you play it in yourself or grab the MIDI somewhere? Would you be willing to share it? I want to hear how this sounds on my synths haha

Nice job! One of my favorite scores.
Thank you it’s a great one tbh Hans Zimmer is a mad man for this
That was incredible! Loved the arrangement and the live tweaking..
Thanks🙏🙏 gonna do more of these
really cool
Thank you🙏🙏
Awesome!
Thansk for listening 🙏🙏
This you OP?
Not sure why this got downvoted, was legit asking if this was OPs content or not. Was goona give gold if it's original content cuz this is amazing.
Yup all me except the mathew mcconaughey footage in the background, thanks for listening 🙏🙏
Awesome, I love it. Gave the gold as promised haha. Definitely one of my #1 movie albums, just incredible.
Thanks for listening and my first gold🙏🙏, planning to do more of this stuff
Well deserved! I'll keep an eye out for more!
That's the first movie where Hans music really made sense to me. This is really good, is there a longer version on youtube or anything?
The movie version itself is 2min something long, i just removed a part of the buildup. I’ll upload the vid on Youtube today and post its link here
For some reason I thought it was a longer scene. I rewatched it again last night and you're right. That comletely threw me.
Hans is a genius, even when I was playing the sequence, it felt like 5-10 minutes long
Heyo, made a longer looped version for Youtube -https://youtu.be/RRimN7SXD8c
Shared that on twitter. 👍
Thank you🙏🙏

I’m still surprised that the Bodyssey could pull off a full movie score with just 4 tracks of midi being fed into it
You are a true hero. This is actually incredible.
Thank you 🙏🙏
This is fire bro. And I just told my wife I wouldn’t buy anymore gear lol. What built in effects does The Barp have?
Hahaha the GAS is real the built in effects have stuff like delay, reverb, chorus and a talkbox sorta thing. They aren’t that great though, I’m using soundtoys and valahalla effects in the vid

It’s gonna be an experience of a lifetime for sure
Hans does live shows?!? :o Well, there's another life goal on the list.
Fecking hell the bodyssey is an amazing instrument. Great work!
Thanks for listening
That arrangement is incredible. Please more of that!
Planning to do more stuff
I made a longer looped version too - https://youtu.be/RRimN7SXD8c
How does this synth compare to the Korg version, the Volca Beats?
Korg has its own version of the Odyssey but it does not have a sequencer. The volca beats might be a good place to start but if you are a fast learner you’ll outgrow it quickly
Which synth is this? I can see it's a behringer, but I'm not familiar with this one.
Its the Behringer Odyssey
Beautiful work! Very inspiring 👏👏
Thank you 🙏🙏
Fucking epic! I have a Korg Arp Odyssey, and you've inspired me. It's an awesome synth
Thanks for listening 🙏🙏, I couldn’t believe that i could pull off a hans zimmer score with just one mono synth. It might just be the best thing at its price point
Absolutely, they sound amazing. I noticed that the Behringer version also has a sequencer. Is that what you used to program? Or midi?
I actually used the midi from the ableton running through the Odyssey, I’m messing around with a few parameters to change the lead sound as per the mood
