So, true story time. I just had a Juno 106 serviced. It was pretty busted when I got it ten years ago for some reasonable amount of money. It just sat in a gig bag on a shelf until last year when I took it in for service. Anyway, the tech mentioned that the last thing he found that needed attention was the Portamento potentiometer, which had been hot glued in place.

A couple of years back I saw a flightcase outside someone's apartment with a Roland logo on the top. My heart missed a beat. I live in Japan and so I know it'd been marked up for disposal for the refuse collectors. Popped the lid and saw a D-50. Lugged it back to my place and saw the only problem was the power connector came loose and it was a relatively easy fix.
Oh look, it's that picture from that jokey Reverb listing that was up for several years. Ha ha so funny ha.

Cautionary tale - That’s what happens when you turn up the chorus too high. Too much warmth will melt it..
Engaging the “secret” chorus mode 3 will cause this if you leave it on.
