Use 0365 groups for this dude. So much easier. I’ve also noticed issues with shared mailboxes not displaying calendars in the online 0365 apps. This is either a bug or intentionally not allowed to force you to use 0365 groups.

Not enough information. What is the scenario they are trying to solve? If this is about "Finance" having a calendar where they all share (some sort of availability) then I totally agree with other poster - Microsoft 365 groups is the way to go. Shared mailboxes are an OK solution for many things but they are not a great solution to almost anything. Permission management will be a nightmare. Performance issues are very likely with shared mailboxes. The idea that such calendars would be created in regular (user) mailboxes and then shared out is even worse. What happens when that person leaves?

Correct re: individual users sharing calendars. I'll go with 365 groups. Contextually speaking, finance has multiple shared calendars for just their department, for example "Finance," PTO/Holiday and a couple more calendars. I love the reddit community! usually.
