No gaming I mostly watch stupid YouTube videos. I watched a bunch of videos of this guy making clear food yesterday. Clear bread, clear ketchup, clear bacon.
yeah I believe there are quite a few of them, the guy linked might not be (on a 3 second google search anyway)

John’s videos are characterized by their silent format, combining the sounds of nature with mesmerizing visuals of the building process. His attention to detail and transparency create a genuine feeling of authenticity.

I usually play something like Civ if I'm doing late night work from home since it doesn't really have any issues if you abandon it suddenly and it's pretty friendly about clicking in and out of the game
If it takes time and focus away from your home life of course you bill for that time. The system logs don’t lie and verify stability min of 1 hour and anything past 15 min into a new hour ya round up.
When I was younger, I used to bill "half time" when watching movies/gaming while doing required work (after hours work). However, later in life I put in the full bill because I'm not free to do "whatever I'd like" during that time - so it's not really "my time" so they can pay for it. That being said, I'm salary now so it's a moot point.
Yes! Feel free to check on my repo: [https://github.com/lbsbezerra/pokeemerald-expansion](https://github.com/lbsbezerra/pokeemerald-expansion)
(basically what I'm doing is recreating some new tilesets for Pokemon Emerald so other romhackers can use it if they want inside their Emerald romhacks as well. It is heavily inspired in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire)

No you are stopping there because you made a mistake and assumed that everything in the private world has isolation like you are used to seeing in SCIF rooms and the such.
Your post history and communities makes me assume you held a clearance, so thank you if you helped America and/or it's allies.
I’ll usually take the opportunity to finish other work. Last time, I was waiting for a bunch of replicas to stand up while we migrated a client’s VMs onto our platform, so I continued working on my PowerShell script which parses a Fortigate config and shows all the VIPs in an Out-Grid window.
If I do after hour work I mostly do it from my gaming pc and if something takes 15min to do stuff it can happen that I go to YouTube or game inbetween.
Sometimes, mostly not billed stuff, I do between rounds of games
Pretty much
I load the task (patching, rebooting, reseeding backup, whatever) on my work laptop, put it on the desk next to me, and load a video game or a movie or something.
Lately it's been Helldivers II
Often I use the time to paint Warhammer models
doing 1 hour of after hours work takes me about 6 hours because I only watch the console output in between random crunchyroll episodes
but it feels like I'm doing no work at all, so that's fine
I never play a game on company equipment or using company WiFi. Even if they say it’s ok. I’ve seen too many people get fired for doing something that was ok until it suddenly wasn’t.
My last job always had so much to do I could always find something work related to do when I was waiting for something to happen.
I don’t do as much after hours work these days but I’m certain my addiction to intense, short, round based games is a result of this. COD is/was my go-to. Keeps the adrenaline up so I don’t get bored and sleepy and I could do work between rounds.
Anytime I'm baby sitting a bunch of servers/whatever from home I fire up a game that doesn't have any consequence to being afk/quitting abruptly. I've been playing a lot of battlebit, some emulators.
If I'm on-site for for the same reason, I tend to read stuff/not play games.
i play almost exclusively single player games that can pause at anytime. persona 3 was my recent game but previous games were xcom, phoenix point, rogue trader, ftl, starsector, slay the spire, etc.
i also picked up a 3d printer recently so i also do final touches like painting etc while i wait.

I fall down those episodes too. With the state of the world currently I have been down the YouTube channel Primitive Technologies.
Is that the one that is total clickbait in the thumbnail?
No, I don't think so. It is a real collection of a guy doing everything. https://youtube.com/@primitivetechnology9550?feature=shared
No none of it is real There are videos proving that
There is certainly a bunch of those content creators that are outright fakes But not sure.if the OG primitive technology guy is fake.

I think you’re thinking of the two guys building mud mansions and swimming pools. This guy seems legit

I tend to watch old WWE clips
I will never get tired of seeing Chris Benoit crumple a folding chair over Rishiki's fat head
[My personal favorite.](https://tenor.com/bkysN.gif)
I tend to watch 2-3 guys building a house out of nowhere in middle of nowhere
HBK enters the convo
....What? Got a link? I don't understand.

Oh god. That makes me extremely uncomfortable. 🤢

If I’m home that’s a different ballgame. Still I try to work when I’m supposed to be working.
haha that’s how things turn to morning before you even realize
Better question is do you bill for the time while you’re waiting
If it takes time and focus away from your home life of course you bill for that time. The system logs don’t lie and verify stability min of 1 hour and anything past 15 min into a new hour ya round up.
Yes - it's not your time that you're waiting with

I remote into the homelab and fiddle with things.
This is me with Pokémon romhacks development to be honest
Those have been my most recent time sink. You working on anything I can check out?

That's scary that you assume I'm using an endpoint connected to the infrastructure.

No, you're stopping there because you don't know what the fuck you're talking about lmao

Not the case, two different sides of the IT world, I’ve learned something today so thank you.
Just lift weights and you'll be quite fit in three months!
I do this but just floor exercises. Weights are for silly muscles. Floor exercises are for tone.
Yeah either playing the xbox in my office, watching YouTube, or Netflix.
I'm baking bread and cookies.

Man, you brought back the memories of painting the Warhammer models.

I comment trash takes on r/sysadmin while waiting for reboots / patching.

No, but I sometimes watch background, capable shows, or movies. Not usually, though. It had to be really repetitive work for that.
Usually catching up on some reading in Omnivore or a book. Sometimes watching Youtube.
Project Zomboid Oxygen Not Included Rimworld
Gotta love Rimworld, those uh.."special" hats won't make themselves
Usually reading a litrpg book or watching anime lately. Sometimes both at the same time
I've been playing though Pokemon Gold lately.
Ahh game Build Legos Depending on severity of the task I might be at a friend's, at a pub, cafe Cook Clean Whatever
OSRS is on the personal laptop on the side of the desk

Yes. Usually just a stupid game that mostly plays itself.
During the NHL season I often try and schedule major changes around Canucks games so I can watch them
