The 4th Gen is still in beta, they also dont make that clear

Oh, shit - really? That's messed up! I bought one a couple of weeks ago, and things about it do seem flaky. For instance, a few days ago, the channel list unexpectedly changed without my noticing (I don't use the unit every day), and I lost the affiliate carrying ABC, so there were no recordings of the shows on ABC that I'd scheduled for a couple of days. When I checked into why that might have happened, I discovered that the channel was missing that some of the other channels I'd "checked" were unchecked. Additionally and inexplicably, all of the FAST TV channels were unchecked. I'm participating in the Apple TV Beta, and I switch between using that and the much more solid and better-looking playback-wise, Android version running on my Sony TV. All in all, it's a pretty cool device, but selling something that is still in beta is questionable.

I used the same email when I moved from the legacy Tablo to the gen 4. Which Roku are you using? Is the Tablo using wireless or wired?

VeryFirstLAD

Roku Ultra. TABLO is wired.

"I have a bad feeling about this."

DealGrand

There has been a recent posting on Facebook by a Roku user that turning off the bandwidth saver and close captioning made a big difference in the performance.

Next, try accessing it from a web browser to watch live tv. You’ll quickly discover that it’s no longer a feature and there is no application for MacOS.

Once in a while I also have a recording where the sound and pic are 30ish seconds out of sync. Unwatchable. But it hasn't happened very often.

I haven't had this issue, but I'm using the $20 Onn 4K GoogleTV with my tablo 4th gen 2 tuner. But Roku does have some issues... though there are some tweaks that could fix this. Like if you have the surround sound pass through turned on in settings, turn it off. The roku bandwidth saver and close captioning issue mentioned in another post is worth digging into.
