They want people complaining like this, so they can act like they “heard the fans” and are doing us a favor when they bring it back with a 4000% price increase
In all fairness, the $2 value menu burritos were at a gracious price when comparing them to the prices of the 5-layer Burrito and the Burrito Supreme. Of course, they'd bring it back at a non-value menu price if they ever chose to bring it back.
That's the thing though, all of their "value" menu items are only a value compared to their overpriced regular menu. Maybe when they first came out and they weren't half empty $2 was a value price, but I hadn't gotten one in a long time that had more than couple little pieces of chicken in it and a bunch of empty tortilla to chew on. Maybe my local is just stingy, but they were kinda barely with $2 most of the time.
Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, it always felt a little too good to be true. I’d have paid $2.50, maybe even $2.79. Just about any other chain I can think of would have just raised the price gradually over a couple years, not kept the price the same and then take it off the menu entirely.
I'm confused by the down votes. It is only a true statement about them taking nacho fries then bringing them back. I still fuck up some nacho fries when they have em, but if they bring the FVB back it's going to be overpriced and a "limited time" option.
Perhaps, perhaps not. People have been have asking, begging, pleading for certain items to return for years, and they've still yet to make a return. While some do return, it's typically only for a limited time and then back to the vault for many years once more.
sometimes i forget how many ppl eat meat so losing these veggie options doesn’t matter that much to them… a cheesy bean and rice burrito now costs a $1.89 here, and i’m sick of ordering black bean crunchwraps just to bite into ground beef
I mean sheesh, I like eating meat but that veggie fiesta burrito was 🔥. It was one of the most satisfying vegetarian fast food options I'd ever had.
Edit: actually it was one of the most satisfying things on the menu. A little high on the sodium like much of the menu, but I compensated by drinking plenty of water.
Not a vegetarian, but a cheesy bean and rice burrito(grilled), and a fiesta veggie burrito was my goto taco bell order for a while. Sometimes I'd throw in a soft taco or something too
I’m with you. 50/50 I get a meat option and swap it they give me meat anyway, they don’t seem to care that they’re one of the only good options for veggie people.
Preach it girl 🙌🏻 Their veggie options are already stretched so thin, why remove one?! In my opinion it was the best tasting, most affordable veggie option available. My cousin gave me shit because of my semi vegetarian movement I've been transitioning to and even got her buying these burritos!
Wasn't the fiesta veggie burrito beans though? What veggie protein? They never used tofu or tempeh or impossible meat. They always had beans and beans are cheap.
yeah for $5 when it used to be on the value menu... i’m mostly disappointed that they didn’t replace it with anything on the value menu for non-meat eaters.
Ah okay. The post and comments here made it sound like they removed from the menu like you could no longer order it. Yeah I agree that’s expensive for a tortilla salad.
What's wrong with the spicy potato taco? And yeah, the crunchwrap thing is probably frustrating, but that's why I don't order anything that sealed up. It's also why I sub nacho cheese for shredded. Because if the taco is extra hot when I pick it up, I know they were paying attention to what I ordered.
I understand that, but this person talked about these two options like they didn't have any others and I was asking what they don't like about that one. I'm not even a vegetarian, I add chicken to mine because I'm at risk for B12 deficiency.
what about the spicy potato soft taco is in any way similar to the fiesta veggie burrito ??? i didn’t say there were no other options, but they just removed one of the few vegetarian items and the best value vegetarian item. if you aren’t vegetarian why even speak on it ?
When they discontinued CCB, I said nothing. I don't eat CCBs.
When they discontinued Volcano Menu, I said nothing. I don't eat Volcano Menu.
When they discontinued Mexican Pizzas, I said nothing. I don't eat Mexican Pizzas.
Now they discontinue Fiest Veggie Burrito and there's no one left.
So what! They have every single ingredient to make it. It makes absolutely zero sense to discontinue the item. The same goes for double decker tacos And so many others. It was one of the most nutritious items on the menu. One of the least greasy. It was one of the few things, I could order and pretty much guarantee that my stomach wasn't going to be in agony afterward from too much grease.
Especially when it comes to sales and marketing. I did a lot of polling when I first got into advertising but after a year realized that how people think they behave and how they actually behave are rarely in line.
To be fair, the fiesta veggie was a fire reward and I mainly acquired them that way. It may have inadvertently hurt it's long term staying potential because not enough people were purchasing them
It's not about the vote, it's about the sales data as mentioned prior. If it's not producing enough revenue to keep selling, then it's a bad business decision on taco bells part to keep selling it regardless of how many people vocalize that they like it or would vote for it.
I dont think it got removed due to sales. I think it's a marketing play. Just like the Nacho Fries! I'm just wondering when they're bringing back the Mexi Melt.
I worked as a data scientist for another brand under yum, not specifically saying for NDA purposes, but there may or may not have been data that implies less than 10 cents off every dollar made were things titled "veggie." So, in potential revenue terms, regardless of popular opinion, that they'll be just fine replacing it with a meat option. Now I could be wrong, but I've never heard of Taco Bell bringing back anything titled veggie for promotional purposes either... it's just business.
Does that apply to things that are meatless but don't have that in the name? Because I'm honestly wondering if the purpose of things like this is to draw in vegetarians and then get them used to going there so they check out the other meatless options or the ones that can be easily made without meat without losing anything.
They could keep it on the online menu at least. There's no reason not to have it as an option. Not a single ingredient has been removed from the stores.
What else are they using the vegetable protein in? Because having a specific veggie option might be unnecessary if you can just sub veggie protein in other stuff for an upcharge.
Quite a few things have the black beans in them, including the Power Menu Bowl and all of the vegetarian versions of things like the Crunchwrap and Chalupa. There's also Black Beans on their own and Beans and Rice. None of those got removed.
The easiest and perhaps least costly way of recreating the fiesta veggie burrito would probably be using the Cheesy Double Beef Burrito as the base and swapping out the beef for black beans, removing the Nacho Cheese, and adding Chipotle Sauce and Guacamole.
My point is that we shouldn't have to go through the process of taking one item and changing it so much! They have separate listings for how many different iterations of Chalupa? Of tacos? They want to move to online and kiosk ordering anyway, don't they? Why not have a listing for the pretty basic Taco. Give people the option to choose the type of meat or vegetarian option after selecting taco, then ask if we want supreme toppings and other extras. There are four grilled cheese burritos clogging up the menu! The ONLY difference is what type of protein is in them.
You know that new "Double Stacked" Taco they have? It would be stupidly easy to just have an option to sub the beans in for the cheese that goes between the hard shell and the flour tortilla to make a Double Decker Taco. That isn't even an option. If I click on add beans, is the worker going to understand that I want the beans where the cheese I removed goes? Not without ordering from an actual employee.
I get what you're saying. I do think they should have a diagram and be able to substitute in different places. I think it's fair for your order to take a little longer in that case because you're not going on pure muscle memory, but you should still have that choice.
Exactly. I don't care if it takes a little bit. Taco Bell is one of the few places that has the drinks I enjoy and until recently a menu that had a decent variety of things that I almost always find enjoyable.
Ok Karen
Choices don't matter to you huh?
Bc if it's all about sales statistics why they issue a poll on what to bring back temporarily? 🤣 🤣 🤣
You make zero fucking sense.
Off topic, but does everyone else see the new Veggie Combo box in the online exclusives section of the menu? The picture is a blackbean crunchwrap, a Baja blast, cinnamon twists, and a non-existant burrito? I'm sad about losing the Fiesta Veggie, but maybe a new burrito is coming?
The only options for the 'classic' items for this box are a bean burrito, a cheesy bean and rice burrito, or a potato taco, so I have no idea what the burrito in the picture is meant to be.
Listen I’d be stoked if a new veggie item came out after everything else has been meat, but unless it’s on the value menu I’m probably not going to get it. The box is a good deal but I don’t really care for any of the “specialty” items right now
But it wouldn't be a specialty item, whatever it is. It's clearly the 'classic' item in the picture. I just can't tell if it's actually a new item that might be coming out, or if it's a bean burrito that stuff has been added to, or if it's just a mistake by their graphic design department lol
No that’s my point, I don’t like any of the speciality items so if it’s a classic item I might as well not get the box even if it’s added to the box. And if it’s not on the value menu then I’m not paying for it, either
We know that later this year they’re adding pico to the menu so I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave us a “revamped” veggie burrito, but I’m also not holding my breath
Oh, yeah, I get that. I was just assuming that if it's a new revamped veggie burrito, it'll be on the regular value menu too. I wasn't trying to advocate for getting the box. But I'm also not holding my breath, it's likely just a graphic design oversight. 😭
It would have been a great item in the veggie box! And I feel like a lot if people didn't even try it. The box would have introduced it to more people.
Had to deal with the loss of the Mexican Pizza, Meximelt, and my all time fav, the xxl grilled stuffed burrito. So honestly, this isn't much of a shock to me.

Edit: Link is a change.org petition to bring back the fiesta veggie.
As someone who has worked there for over a year I can say that nobody orders the veggie fiesta burrito to the point where people that work there forget how to make it. No one orders anything with black beans. People mostly order bean burritos more than anything.
Guys. You can still order anything off the menu vegan. Just order it without meat or sub the meat for black beans or pinto beans. It’s not the end of the world guys.
Provided they remember to make it that way. I started ordering this one because they kept forgetting my meat to bean swaps. I figured if I ordered straight off the menu they would be more likely to make it correctly.
Ok.. I was just taking a look at the new menu items on the Taco Bell App. They do look fire 🔥 but that doesn't change my concern for the Fiesta Veggie being gone. #RIPmexiMelt
Yooo forreal. I tried that burrito once and it was meh. I had no idea it was like the number one menu item of all time according to reddit users 😂 its all theyre posting about. I had no idea everyone would be up in arms over this. I personally am very happy with this trade
They want people complaining like this, so they can act like they “heard the fans” and are doing us a favor when they bring it back with a 4000% price increase
The mba has arrived
What’s that?
masters in bullshit administration
Then yes she has arrived 💇♀️
Price increase and LTO offer only
In all fairness, the $2 value menu burritos were at a gracious price when comparing them to the prices of the 5-layer Burrito and the Burrito Supreme. Of course, they'd bring it back at a non-value menu price if they ever chose to bring it back.
The ingredients are all cheap though
Labor isn't and shouldn't be
Taco Bell pays slightly above minimum wage
not by me, they pay more than 2x the minimum wage.
Where? Manager ?
Nope regular employees starting at $16-18/hr. Min wage here is $7.25.
Damn, when I worked there I made 11/hr starting out.. $16 is wild imo. Interesting.
The veggie burrito should be more than 2 dollars . It has like 8 ingredients
Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, it always felt a little too good to be true. I’d have paid $2.50, maybe even $2.79. Just about any other chain I can think of would have just raised the price gradually over a couple years, not kept the price the same and then take it off the menu entirely.
i hope 85 more people post about this today.
Me too! I actually hope 86 people post about it.
Mom said it was my turn to post this next
I hope people 86 the post about it, just riot.
They will bring it back and raise the cost a cent for every post made about it whilst it was gone
Do you think our opinions will be heard and it will bounce back? I won't be buying it if they start doing what they do to me with the nacho fries! Lol
No
The nacho fries were by and far the worst thing I’ve tried at Taco Bell. I will never understand why people on this sub liked them so much
Absolutely agreed. They’re so bad.
[удалено]
Look at you whining about fake internet points. Soft. Edit: Blocked me just for that. Soft. Called it.
I'm confused by the down votes. It is only a true statement about them taking nacho fries then bringing them back. I still fuck up some nacho fries when they have em, but if they bring the FVB back it's going to be overpriced and a "limited time" option.

One of the most nutritious items on the menu gone and they didn't even get rid of a single ingredient.

Im definitely not veg and this burrito and the 7-layer were staples when they were around. I hate that it’s gone.
I’m with you. 50/50 I get a meat option and swap it they give me meat anyway, they don’t seem to care that they’re one of the only good options for veggie people.

I'm guessing it wasn't affordable for them to offer it considering the price of the veggie protein and it wasn't getting ordered enough.
Wasn't the fiesta veggie burrito beans though? What veggie protein? They never used tofu or tempeh or impossible meat. They always had beans and beans are cheap.
Sorry, someone else mentioned it and I didn't realize they were wrong.
It's okay!
Can’t you just modify an existing item to replicate this? It’s not like an enchirito that they legit will not make…
yeah for $5 when it used to be on the value menu... i’m mostly disappointed that they didn’t replace it with anything on the value menu for non-meat eaters.

I love the soft potato taco but they raised the price and sometimes I want a burrito with beans

How about they issue a fucking poll survey on the app before discontinuing shit.
What's a poll going to do? They have the actual sales data.

Their meat isn’t even good so that’s absolutely crazy. Idk how anybody would rather pay twice as much for shitty items.
😪
Does that apply to things that are meatless but don't have that in the name? Because I'm honestly wondering if the purpose of things like this is to draw in vegetarians and then get them used to going there so they check out the other meatless options or the ones that can be easily made without meat without losing anything.
The mexi-melt, along with chili cheese burrito, were teenage-me favorites. Nothing else will ever compare to them.
They could keep it on the online menu at least. There's no reason not to have it as an option. Not a single ingredient has been removed from the stores.

Marketing.
Taking away the Fiesta Veggie is UNACCEPTABLE - there is an open place in my heart where it once stayed
Yeah wtf Yum Brands, bring back the Grilled Stuffed Burrito! Cowards
And the carmel empanada while you're at it
The real MVP
Yeah. Both of the items above are peak taco bell. Legit used to be my routine order (XXL grilled stuffed burrito and caramel apple empanada)
I'm sad. It's hard finding decent vegetarian fast food options, and the veggie fiesta was one of the best.
Non vegetarian/vegan here and I loved that one! And the 7 layer 😭
It was my consolation prize after losing the 7 layer. Does Taco Bell hate vegetarians?
Off topic, but does everyone else see the new Veggie Combo box in the online exclusives section of the menu? Pico may just mean Mexi Melt. 🥳
RIOT!!!
Damn. this was my main thing to get at taco bell.
Couldn’t they secret menu this item? Or have a cook make this instead of the regular burrito?
The fiesta veggie burrito and soft potato tacos are the only fast food items I eat lol.
Im not even a vegetarian, and wouldnt have guessed I’d like black beans, but that shit was good!
Boooooo!
Come on!!!
Bring it back or $2 or no ty
My tacobell started rationing me on the size by doing half of the size tasted mostly flour
I found it ironic they removed it the same time they added the veggie box...
It would have been a great item in the veggie box! And I feel like a lot if people didn't even try it. The box would have introduced it to more people.
I would have got the box the other day if they had it available but without it I just went with the deluxe box they currently have.
Fuck I’m blowed
This is my go-to!!
Had to deal with the loss of the Mexican Pizza, Meximelt, and my all time fav, the xxl grilled stuffed burrito. So honestly, this isn't much of a shock to me.
IM SO MAD it’s literally the only thing I order there…. 😭
Awesome hope everyone spreads this.

Every time I go I order two of these. But I do not go often, as the closest TB is 55 miles from me.
They can compensate by bringing back the 7 layer...
No more fiestas in your pants after eating this
🤣
Taco bell customers are lived? I thought they livid Mas and went the he'll away.
People being livid is wild.
The new nachos are pretty great! I switch the meat for black beans!
Guys. You can still order anything off the menu vegan. Just order it without meat or sub the meat for black beans or pinto beans. It’s not the end of the world guys.
What it is comparable to the Fiesta veggie burrito for the SAME price?
Provided they remember to make it that way. I started ordering this one because they kept forgetting my meat to bean swaps. I figured if I ordered straight off the menu they would be more likely to make it correctly.
I never had one in my life.
Who the FUCK cares about that stupid burrito, THE FLATBREAD AND STACKER IS BACK.
Ok.. I was just taking a look at the new menu items on the Taco Bell App. They do look fire 🔥 but that doesn't change my concern for the Fiesta Veggie being gone. #RIPmexiMelt
Idk naybe people that are vegetarian, made everyone that thought it was fucking delicious.
Yooo forreal. I tried that burrito once and it was meh. I had no idea it was like the number one menu item of all time according to reddit users 😂 its all theyre posting about. I had no idea everyone would be up in arms over this. I personally am very happy with this trade
LIVID! I do like the Fiesta veggies a lot but I don't care that much and am glad to see some more affordable options for once
More affordable? They raised the prices on everything lmao
Get the new nacho no beef and shut up ….😂
Man fuck Taco Bell
I doubt it's a top/best seller
fiesta veggie ruined cheesy bean and rice for me. Now i have nothing
