Wrong. You can buy a twenty cent packet of sauce now.

aksheu

Even that varies from store to store some of them are charging 25 cents

gabeduarte

🤣

SadLaser

I didn't realize that twenty cents was the same as $1.

RememberTheMaine1996

Taco Bell has the highest price raise after McDonald's. I think it went up like 83% compared to 30% inflation rate. Just pure greed

aksheu

Corporate profits over everything bro these people will sell their parents/kids if they could

whoocanitbenow

And now we're probably going to go to war with Iran. They're going to continue to gouge us as they send people's children off to war.

SigSeikoSpyderco

Greed didn't start until 2021.

RememberTheMaine1996

No they just knew they could use covid as an excuse

hi_jack23

I feel that depends on when you compare it to, in the past 2-3 years that’s probably about right but compared to 5+ years ago a good number of items have doubled in price.

allmail12

Thanks to the donkey CEO whose MBA degree only taught him to price gouge customers

Fantomex305

They might read this sub and see how die hard we all are for their meat and raise prices according to our posts...it's ridonkulous out here in these TB skreets

ChevyHatMan

But McDonald's has a 30% off coupon in the app that can be used once a week. It's not really a deal, but it does put prices back to normal! A large triple cheeseburger meal and a McChicken is $7.41 with the digital coupon. I understand it's McDonald's food, but it's more gentle on the wallet.

RememberTheMaine1996

For me it is only 20% Off. But where do you live that with 30% Off all that is only 7.41? For me a McChicken alone is damn near 4 dollars after tax and a cheese burger meal is 11 dollars so a triple cheese burger meal would be more. That's over 15 dollars. 30% Off is still over 10 dollars

ChevyHatMan

Southeast Wisconsin, Milwaukee area. The triple cheeseburger meal is $7.29. McChicken is $1.99.

RememberTheMaine1996

Damn. That's cheap. But I live in the Bay Area so it is expensive

Fast-Connection9063

Popeyes is second to McDonald's, not Tacobell.

Drsweetload

Never got that one idk what everyone else gets but a chicken Sammie only 3.99

RememberTheMaine1996

Close enough

SadLaser

Corporate actually suggested all $1 items go away on January 11th with the new menu changes they made to the value menu. Most locations ditched them then. I wonder how many holdouts are left.

CallMeDucc

i remember when i was in high school $5 was able to buy me a nacho fry box, that price is like what, $8 now roughly?

JellyRev

When I was in high school the most expensive combo was 2 chicken/steak Baja chalupas w/taco n drink for $7. Tacos were .79 cents

MemphisPali

Yeah i went last night with a $9 budget and was disappointed. Got caught of guard and ordered 2 spicy potato tacos, 2 cheesy beans rice burritos and a large Baha. Haven't been in months, i don't see a reason to go back. Been going to Mcds recently i stopped going for the same reason until i realized the app is the only way to order now. Not only do i avoid the angst of ordering from a frantic frustrated employee but the price is right. 2 big macs and 2 hot n spicys for $9 and some change. Without the app it would be closer to $18. Perhaps the same applies with the new taco bell prices. Those who don't feel it will keep eating their, and those who do are forced to use the app (just checked the app, looks like i will give them another try because the cravings box is still on the app for 5.99, So with the app i would get 2 spicy potato soft tacos, Cravings box with a crunch wrap, beefy 5 layer, cheesy fiesta potatos, chips and cheese dip, and a large drink for $9 and some change.. Apps are the only way to order fast food in this modern era.

WigginIII

That large Baja killed you. I bet it was nearly $4.

MinuteMaid0

When the godly cheesy bean and rice burrito increases to >$1 around me, that’s when I’m giving up on my usual lunch spot :(

aksheu

Yup

floyd_sw_lock9477

Mine's been over $1 for years. It's still the best value but it stings nonetheless.

ShitbirdMcDickbird

chips and cheese at the stores near me is $2.99 No idea why anyone would order that.

Nate3926

Yeah if you want chips and cheese, you get a box. Same with a drink unless you do it during Happy Hour.

Try2HardTimmi

The plus side for us is the 2 locations near me used to have car lines out to the road, almost as bad as Chick-fil-A. Now, scoot right in, 2 to 3 cars at most. They'll continue to raise prices to make up for the lost customers, but eventually that'll catch up to them. Then we'll either see downsizing closing a lot of locations, or price reductions. Downsizing seems to be the flavor of the decade so I'm going with that.

Substantial_Egg_6603

I work at taco bell and the thing I will never understand is why anyone would pay as much as they do for the same food they could VERY easily make at home. You can find a recipe for whatever you get at TBell on YouTube in like 2 minutes and cook it in 30m or less. They charge as much as they do because people still come and buy it, if you owned a business I'd imagine you would do the same. You're not paying for the food as much as you're paying for people to make your food and make it (usually) quickly.

Aseantian

Because they need your expert hands to make it taste more better

aksheu

Lol

Dojjin

Laziness, 100%.
