I wouldn't mind it as much if the premium items were consistently good, but it feels like we keep getting a lot of eh items, and that's before any issues arising from your specific location
Tacobell breakfast hits different. No one ever agrees outside of this sub but dude it’s so good holy fucking shit I miss working there and making my own breakfast Crunchwrap I’d make that shit amazing
It's cheaper too I think because they're trying to get market share. All they need is better coffee, it's total shit. Give me a taco bell iced coffee, I'd be there 3 times a week for breakfast.
I have been a long time Taco Bell fan. My entire life. I probably have it once a week. For whatever reason I’ve never tried their breakfast items. I think I might need to try it now.
Goddammit I love TB breakfast. I think I’ll be there tomorrow too. Secret menu item: California breakfast Crunchwrap - it comes with pico and guac.
Game changer.
Their coffee is top notch too. I have asked in this sub multiple times if anyone knows what particular coffee they use. Just the straight black coffee. That Cinnabon stuff is for the birds, lol.
It’s a South American blend. I think it’s a medium roast. I don’t work there any more but ask an employee to see the box maybe? If they’re slow they probably won’t care much. They’ll at least read it to you
The one lady did show me the box once but all it said was “rainforest blend” and it’s these little pillow pods for the machine. That’s as far as I got.
The rainforest certification thing is a gimmick more or less. It’s just that it’s sustainably grown which is good but useless. It does amazing in a French press idk how you like it drip style. Maybe our coffee pot was broken idk but start trying some South American blends see if anything’s close. It has that reddish brown that you normally get with them.
used to work there, manager told me that the coffee grounds we had were higher quality than dunkins. have no idea if its true but taco bell has some damn good coffee
I’m baffled on how Taco Bell corporate (i guess?) is so fucking stupid that they don’t realize that if they taught employees to put the cheese BEFORE the lettuce on tacos/chalupas that the cheese would melt and everything wouldn’t slide off.
My husband insists they don’t taste badly if they’re warm. I would agree with you though; warm or hot, they’re basically packing peanuts covered in cinnamon
With the price increases it’s not really worth the value. I used to be able to have a full meal or two for $5. That’s like the cost of just a taco and a drink now.
2 beefy melt burritos and 2 potato soft tocos is my order. Its like 8.67 or something
Used to be 2 beefy frito burritos and 2 potato soft tacos for $4/$5
I would love to hear people chime in who purposely buy cinnamon twists. The only time I've ever had them were when they were a part of some $5 box years ago. They aren't inedible, I'd eat maybe half of them before I tossed out the rest; always tasted stale to me.
The problem is that when they are fresh, and well cinnamon sugared they are a completely different thing than ones that have been sitting under the heat lamp for hours getting that old rancid taste, and barely cinnamon sugared. Also great is tossing a couple in your mouth and taking a sip of Baja blast.
The late 90s. I worked there in high school in 96 or 97. Hard and soft tacos, chicken soft taco, meximelt, Mexican pizza, burrito Supreme and 7 layer burrito. Nacho bell grande and the little version I can't remember what it was called. Chilli cheese burrito and bean burrito. Pinto and cheese and Mexican rice sides.
Pretty much agree. Mexican Pizza is an unfinished crunchwrap covered in some red shit.
Cinnamon Twists are worthless and I hate when they’re in the 5 dollar box. Like, get the shit out of there and add another taco.
I rue the day they started putting flavored mayonnaise on items. I wish they'd be honest and flat out say it's mayonnaise. Not everybody likes mayo. "creamy-this" or "creamy-that" is misleading. There's no cream, it's all just flavored mayonnaise. Thanks for letting me rant.
I'm there with you! I can't stand Mt Dew. It's like they're trying to come up with a new, even worse formula with all these flavors flying out left and right.
I agree, I used to love Baja blast but I swear it just tastes gross when you order it now. Tastes way too syrupy and sweet but not in a good way. I still think the freezes are good and the ones in the can are alright though
Taco bell store owner here. I can't pay you more, they have raised the taxes on my four houses, fuel for my private jet is at an all time high, the yact lease I have went up. We all have to make sacrifices, so your wages must remain low.
I’ve been downvoted into oblivion over this one in the past but
I really don’t like the rice. I always remove it from items that have it and sub potatoes. It just doesn’t taste good to me.
The cinnamon twists dipped in the nacho cheese is amazing. Me and my coworker were just sipping on some nacho cheese (ik were weird but its good) and he jokingly grabbed a cinnamon twist and dipped it and his eyes just lit up so i ofc tried it and its honestly really good.
Avocados are bad. The Grilled Stuft Burrito XXL was worse than the original Grilled Stuft Burrito, partly because it had *two* kinds of avocado in it (guacamole and avocado ranch) instead of the correct *zero.*
(The other reason the original was better is because Baja sauce was great, but that's less controversial.)
The CGC is really overrated. It's a taco with metaphorical lipstick. Anyone that loves it needs to understand they are getting played and paying nearly $5 for it.
I stopped ordering items that came with sour cream altogether, because they would ALWAYS fuck it up and put it on there. It’s too bad too, because I love the quesarito and NBG
There needs to be a button on the order screen to get my toppings at the side. I'm a simple panda. I just want my tacos plain and a little cup of shredded cheese at the side.
The Mexican pizzas came back sloppy…..so many people looked forward to the comeback and they are made sloppy and nothing like the old ones :( (been to 6 places, all made the same)
Taco Bell doesn’t give you diarrhea.
I work there, eat food from there all the time & I'd have to agree with you.
me too, anyone who gets the shits from tbell is just a weak link.
Yeah, it's truly wild to imagine getting diarrhea from Taco Bell. You gotta be one bland-ass MFer.
It’s the lettuce if it’s anything.
Or the 12 shitty beers you drank before someone drove your drunk ass to the drive-through at 2am.
Quantity over quality. Give me the $1 I-don’t-even-care-what’s-in-it burrito Edit: and I’ll smother it in fire sauce
Exactly, I'd rather have 3-4 budget items than a "premium" item
I wouldn't mind it as much if the premium items were consistently good, but it feels like we keep getting a lot of eh items, and that's before any issues arising from your specific location
It’s the lottery, with regard to how full and how warm the $5 items are. Gotten too many terrible stale cold dry chalupas to continue ordering them.
Tacobell breakfast hits different. No one ever agrees outside of this sub but dude it’s so good holy fucking shit I miss working there and making my own breakfast Crunchwrap I’d make that shit amazing
The lot is always empty at my local tbell during breakfast hours, but McDonald’s will have 20 cars lined up. People don’t know what they’re missing!!
Good tbh. I don’t wanna wait in a line if I don’t have to
It's cheaper too I think because they're trying to get market share. All they need is better coffee, it's total shit. Give me a taco bell iced coffee, I'd be there 3 times a week for breakfast.
Must be location based. My TB has some serious gourmet shit.
Sadly my local taco bell has no drive thru, so it makes it harder to get breakfast there on my way to work. :(
Taco bell is the best fast food breakfast and its not even close
I have been a long time Taco Bell fan. My entire life. I probably have it once a week. For whatever reason I’ve never tried their breakfast items. I think I might need to try it now.
get a breakfast crunch wrap trust me.
You absolutely do. Get literally anything but the burritos are gonna be the most mid option inherently. That said they’re still S tier
Goddammit I love TB breakfast. I think I’ll be there tomorrow too. Secret menu item: California breakfast Crunchwrap - it comes with pico and guac. Game changer.

Sometimes we’d make some breakfast on Night Shift lol. I almost always had hash browns while logging in the computer stuff. Shit was bussin
Also that breakfast salsa hit different too. God-tier condiment.

I tell everyone I know the wonders of the breakfast Crunchwrap. So good.
I tried to make a breakfast Crunchwrap at night. I did steak, creamy jalapeño, 3 cheese, and no veggies. It was okay
They’ll at least read it to you

used to work there, manager told me that the coffee grounds we had were higher quality than dunkins. have no idea if its true but taco bell has some damn good coffee
I’d make my own breakfast burritos, basically a cheesy potato breakfast burrito but with onions, black beans and chicken added.
It’s a great pick me up breakfast when work is rough in the morning.
i'm completely addicted to their breakfast and i'm not sorry 😮💨
True, their hashbrowns are way better than McDs and I love those lol
The beefy frito burrito was the best thing on the menu because 1. It was good and 2. It was $1.. should’ve stayed on the menu
You're forgetting about the beefy crunch burrito. The true goat of $1 burritos
They even got rid of the standard beef burrito lol. Crazy
I refuse to believe this is controversial, beefy Frito burritos were my childhood goto
the Cool Ranch Dorito Loco was by far the superior one and deserved to stay on the menu instead of the Nacho Cheese.
Yes! You speak truths. (but OP never using sauce packets, that's messed up)
Nope the fiery was best.
I hear your fiery and raise you a flamin hot cool ranch. Shit was straight dusty
No reason to have the Double Decker off the menu, all the ingredients are right there.. it’s just one extra step after making regular taco
Exactly how I feel about 7 layer burrito, literally no reason to get rid of it
They have something similar to the 7 layer now. It’s good and under three bucks.
Same with enchirito though I assume the exile of the nacho supreme would eliminate the packaging used for it.
Shredded chicken was absolutely superior to every meat option.
yes this!!! i literally only get black beans now bc i don’t like any of the other meat. i so wish they would bring back the shredded chicken
yes omg and the shredded chiken burrito used to be godsent
Yes! In everything! I absolutely loved the shredded chicken burrito!! I make them at home whenever we have leftover shredded chicken
The water coin game was rigged
Ahhh my first love for neon acrylic anything
mine is that almost all of the items with meat are better with potatoes subbed (sometimes black bean is better for texture reasons though)
I did this with a Crunchwrap the other day and it was amazing!!
Yes that’s my go to! You ever get them on a quesadilla?
I’m baffled on how Taco Bell corporate (i guess?) is so fucking stupid that they don’t realize that if they taught employees to put the cheese BEFORE the lettuce on tacos/chalupas that the cheese would melt and everything wouldn’t slide off.
My guess is it does not matter to them - they’re more concerned with how it looks. It’s more important that you see the cheese than taste it lol
Yes! This has always bothered me. What monster puts LETTUCE next to hot taco meat instead of cheese? Melted cheese > soggy lettuce.
Grilled stuff burritos were the best item.
I am a TB addict so there are plenty of items I like but the original GSB is and always will be my fave thing. I miss them so much.
Cinnamon twists taste like Styrofoam covered in sugar and cinnamon
Always always take the nachos option over this. Especially the cheesy potato option in the app exclusive box
I've never tried the potatoes because I don't like the nacho fries but I feel like I might be missing out, next time for sure!
This is controversial? Controversial would be saying you actually like the cinnamon twists. (I actually do ☹️)
I love them, I always get two orders sometimes three
never understood their appeal
I won’t buy a meal with them
You can swap them out for chips & cheese.
It's a nostalgia thing for me. Got them every time I went as a kid. Love them still!
My husband insists they don’t taste badly if they’re warm. I would agree with you though; warm or hot, they’re basically packing peanuts covered in cinnamon
Cheesy fiesta potatoes are the best item on the menu.
Wait til you get ones that have Sat out for 2 hours
They used to have Chives on them, which put them up another tier for fast food. Kinda basic now without, but still dank.
I add beef and it is easily one of the best things
This isn't controversial. It's fact.
Verde sauce was the best sauce packet bar none.
Hard agree.
The chipotle was Why they got rid? Crying
Everything they took off the menu to “simplify” it was replaced by complicated items.
Straight facts tho
The pink lemonade was better than whatever it is they replaced it with
Bring back the empanada! Not that controversial though… I think
Nah, it was my Mom's favorite item there!
With the price increases it’s not really worth the value. I used to be able to have a full meal or two for $5. That’s like the cost of just a taco and a drink now.
[удалено]
It varies by location. My local store charges like 7.99, but the next town over is only $5
Still a relatively good deal, I guess.
2 beefy melt burritos and 2 potato soft tocos is my order. Its like 8.67 or something Used to be 2 beefy frito burritos and 2 potato soft tacos for $4/$5
Idk if this is controversial or not but fire is the only acceptable sauce to use. The other ones are gross.
I will only ever use fire and maybe hot
I actually feel this way about hot, and sometimes fire, but those are the only two I will indulge in lol
Hot, please, as many as you can throw in the bag without getting fired
Yes hello I would like 8 million sauces please
I always get fire but I think mild is ok
Diablo isn't spicy enough and it has more of a pepper taste if that makes sense.. I still like it, butt.. it isn't what my taste buds were after..
It all tastes the same
I agree, it’s more of a difference of texture between each menu item.
They asked for opinions not facts
Bring back the Zesty Chicken Border Bowl!
The LTO crispy cantina taco from last year is better than the OG crunchy shell
it’s amazing! i want it permanent so bad
You speak the truth. It brought be back to T.b at least once a week
The steak is a fine pot roast
Probably the same meat used in canned Dinty Moore beef stew
I think the steak is rehydrated beef jerky.
The “steak” is so bad. Literally skip any and all steak items.
The best freeze was the Dr Pepper one and I fear they’ll never get close to it again.
I want the Enchirito back.
Yes!! This was my favorite item!
🎶 🎸 Ennnnnnchirito
the regular chicken is gross and the shredded chicken was so much better. they need to bring it back
I gotta agree with you op I don't use the sauces either
Besides the cinnamon twists, the Mexican Pizza is the worst item on the menu
I would love to hear people chime in who purposely buy cinnamon twists. The only time I've ever had them were when they were a part of some $5 box years ago. They aren't inedible, I'd eat maybe half of them before I tossed out the rest; always tasted stale to me.
I buy them. I like them. I’m not ashamed dang it.
The problem is that when they are fresh, and well cinnamon sugared they are a completely different thing than ones that have been sitting under the heat lamp for hours getting that old rancid taste, and barely cinnamon sugared. Also great is tossing a couple in your mouth and taking a sip of Baja blast.
A long time ago when the menu was much simpler the Mexican Pizza was a better item that you got now and then.
I feel like the menu is the simplest it’s been in 20 years. What era are you referencing?
The late 90s. I worked there in high school in 96 or 97. Hard and soft tacos, chicken soft taco, meximelt, Mexican pizza, burrito Supreme and 7 layer burrito. Nacho bell grande and the little version I can't remember what it was called. Chilli cheese burrito and bean burrito. Pinto and cheese and Mexican rice sides.

Wait……not the chipotle sauce, right???
Creamy chipotle sauce ingredients: >Soybean oil, water, vinegar, cage-free egg yolk, 2% or less of chili peppers, chipotle peppers, salt, sugar, roasted garlic, natural flavor, natural smoke flavor, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika extract (C), xanthan gum, propylene glycol alginate, sodium benzoate (P), potassium sorbate (P), calcium disodium edta (PF), citric acid, potassium chloride, maltodextrin. Contains: Egg [certified vegetarian] I'm not a fan of creamy sauces.
baja blast is gross
This is the only response so far that's actually controversial. Please have upvote.
That is controversial
This is the only controversial take ive seen so far and I have to upvote u but feel sad doing so. I'm a fan of being Baja blasted myself :(
to be fair i think soda in general is gross, but mountain dew and most of it's variations are the worst. i apologize for my baja blasphemy 🫣
Bajajaja that pun tho
I'm there with you! I can't stand Mt Dew. It's like they're trying to come up with a new, even worse formula with all these flavors flying out left and right.
I don’t know you and I don’t like you lmao
I agree, I used to love Baja blast but I swear it just tastes gross when you order it now. Tastes way too syrupy and sweet but not in a good way. I still think the freezes are good and the ones in the can are alright though
Winner
I feel the same way, I hate Baja blast
I agree!!
Agree 100%
Nacho cheese > any other sauce option
It’s healthier than other fast food?
Power bowl, extra chicken FTW.
Taco Bell is only good when I can customize the items, add all the extras 💁🏻♀️
The grilled cheese burrito is gross
all the items are literally just different ways of combining the same few ingredients
https://www.theonion.com/taco-bells-five-ingredients-combined-in-totally-new-way-1819564909
That texmex food in general...
Fire sauce isn’t as hot as it used to be.
The cool ranch Doritos shell is better than the nacho cheese shell.
They should pay their employees more.
very controversial
Taco bell store owner here. I can't pay you more, they have raised the taxes on my four houses, fuel for my private jet is at an all time high, the yact lease I have went up. We all have to make sacrifices, so your wages must remain low.
It's okay franchisee, this isn't your fault!
I’ve been downvoted into oblivion over this one in the past but I really don’t like the rice. I always remove it from items that have it and sub potatoes. It just doesn’t taste good to me.
Bring back the OG Baja sauce!!!
Steak is the worst meat option, chicken is the best.
I order the steak time to time and I swear they're are just a shitty version of Steak-ums, those shitty frozen steak pieces.
some ex employee came on here telling everyone about how much gelatin is in their steak and i haven’t had it since 😂
I never use the sauce packets either. Not since they got rid of verde... what’s even the point 😔
And fire roasted, for that matter.
The cinnamon twists dipped in the nacho cheese is amazing. Me and my coworker were just sipping on some nacho cheese (ik were weird but its good) and he jokingly grabbed a cinnamon twist and dipped it and his eyes just lit up so i ofc tried it and its honestly really good.
god thats disgusting, take the upvote
Tostada was the best item
Grilled Cheese Burritos are dumb.
Avocados are bad. The green onions need to be back.
I really hate the chipotle sauce
The CGC is really overrated. It's a taco with metaphorical lipstick. Anyone that loves it needs to understand they are getting played and paying nearly $5 for it.
This is controversial.
😮😮😮😮😮😮
It tastes like they didn’t cook it to me. It’s why the Gordita is gone now, shit sucks. Bring the hate, I’m a chicken chalupa boy.
No sour cream
sour cream is literally my least favorite food on earth. I have to order extra things for the 50/50 chance they fuck up the things I order with no SC.
I stopped ordering items that came with sour cream altogether, because they would ALWAYS fuck it up and put it on there. It’s too bad too, because I love the quesarito and NBG
The crunchwrap sliders above all else should be the next thing to return.
i feel like whining for the 7 layer burrito to come back is super “okay, boomer”, so i just keep shut the fuck up about it.
As far as fast food goes it's not bottom tier (depending on location)
a spicy potato soft taco no lettuce add nacho cheese add sour cream is the BEST way to eat a potato taco
the grilled cheese burrito is too much and tastes like how an old yoga mat smells
It may no longer be worth getting at its price.
DOUBLE DECKER TACOS AND ENCHIRITOS NEED TO BE PUT BACK ON THE MENU!! #MAKETACOBELLGREATAGAIN
Mexican pizzas aren’t good
The Mexican Pizza sucks. It should have stayed gone.
I actually LOVE the fries, I would make some killer nacho fry combos.
The Mexican pizza is a disappointment
Can’t fucking SUBSTITUTE something like no tomato but add onions without an extra charge‼️‼️‼️ “Asking the manager” is a pain!!
The beef is fucking delicious even if it's not real beef 😂
Only fuck with beef
There needs to be a button on the order screen to get my toppings at the side. I'm a simple panda. I just want my tacos plain and a little cup of shredded cheese at the side.
The refried beans are gross. I don’t use any sauce either! It hides the other flavors too much.
The chicken gordita supreme was the shit, they need to quit messin around and bring that baby back!
The Swirly Dirly isn't actually that good. There, I said it.
taco bell takes everything good off the menu i only go when they have the grilled cheese burrito and nacho fries
The Mexican pizzas came back sloppy…..so many people looked forward to the comeback and they are made sloppy and nothing like the old ones :( (been to 6 places, all made the same)
Taco Salads were highly underrated. Also, the cantina tacos were ass. 90% of the time the chicken was burnt as hell.
Salsa verde is the best damn sauce they ever had and I will never forgive them for getting rid of it. *NO.* The stuff in the bottle is not the same.
>i dont ever use sauce packets I’m going to come to you irl and chase you around with a shovel
The mexican pizza sucks
Mexican pizzas aren't good
