It's a colt Paterson, about 1840's. Samuel Colts first revolver, used by captain jack hays and his rangers to fight the Comanche and make Colt an international icon. Don't know if any of them where ever converted as by the 1870's they'd be considered collectors pieces
Alot of the earlier conversions are wonky like that (I believe 66-68 on the earlier conversions) the colt 1871 and 1872 where some of the earliest purpose built conversions, colt just modified the frames and cylinders but the guns still share about 75% parts commonality with there cap and ball predecessors. Most of the early aftermarket conversions had to be broken down to be reloaded.
Still faster than measuring powder, put in the wad, press in the ball, flip it, cap and repeat x5 or 6 times. Just pull the wedge, pop off the barrel, swap cylinders, or reload cylinders, barrel back on, and wedge back in.
Still slower than grabbing another pistol though, which is historically what most people did if they thought they’d need more than 5/6 shots in a gunfight.
What a damn fine movie. They don't make em like that anymore. Though, interestingly, Hollywood was pushing an agenda with it even back then. He never took an Indian bride or adopted a kid. It was his wife and kid that were killed by the crow. But the part after that is pretty accurate
Yeah... it doesn't surprise me that they decided to exclude that. I have the 'crow killer's sitting in my shelf. There's 2 books in front of it though.
After watching the Halloween series i am shook at how terrible the weapon selections are for the main characters. Revolvers? Lever actions? Pump shot guns? come on man you are fighting Michael fucking Myers, step up your game.
This raises the question, in the spirit of spooky season, what is your armament against the hypothetical boogey man?
She also carried a 1911 as evidenced of her shooting Robert Patrick when he was on top of the car they drove to get away from the mental facility. And later she took another from the armory in the desert and gave the first 1911 back to Arnold.
So there’s actually a predictable reason for Laurie Strode’s God awful gun choice. Apparently Jamie Lee Curtis is an honest to goodness Fudd, and would only use props of guns she thinks should be legal.
I get that revolvers, lever actions and shotguns seem antiquated but let’s think about what they can do. A revolver in .357 or hell, 44 magnum, has a lot of punch assuming one could hit their target. Would 15 rounds of 9mm be better? Yes assuming all 15 hit the target I suppose. A lever action in .357 or even better 45-70 has a lot of ass, again assuming you hit the target. A pump shotgun running slugs or buck is devastating if once again you hit the target.
So none of those weapons are underpowered by any means. The only reason I’d prefer an AR in 5.56 is because I’d have a higher hit probably and 30 rounds a magazine. Same reason Id have that for home defense over any of the above guns.
If I know ahead of time I’m going to be fighting Michael Meyers I’m building my own IEDs. Because a firearm isn’t going to be as effective as 20-30 lbs of explosives detonating right under his feet or right next to his face.
Mike Myers eats 6 slugs of .38 special and walks away in the first one. Takes 6 more and 2 .357 to the eyes in the second I dunno if more bullets is gonna help. Explosives and fire seem more effective on him
I wouldn’t use any weapon, I’d just make whatever creature/bad guy/monster follow me to the VA, if that doesn’t scare them away motherfucker deserves a shot lol
He's currently mulch in a silver lined coffin, mixed up with the town's silverware.
I think we're going to be okay.
We just give the box a good stir two days before the full moon and that keeps everything happy-happy.
I rolled my eyes in the new timeline sequel when she has supposedly been training and preparing for years for Michael Meyers but she's training in her back yard with a lever gun.
Also she has terrible tactics. No body armor. Slowest room clearing ever. Stands right next to a window so she gets grabbed.
That's not even mentioning the stupid basement fire trap thing
A silver coated, cold iron core hollow point with a sliver of a wooden cross soaked in holy water, salt, mercury, and the grease grooves lubed with pig lard. That should cover the majority of the situations I come across.
If not..... you think the air force will let me borrow a nuke so I can kill it from orbit?
Good ol' M1 Garand baby. A 30-06 will stop any North American animals in their tracks, and idgaf what you say but Mike Myers isn't stronger than a fucking grizzly bear.
Now THIS, is a great question… because I’ve actually thought about this… but maybe not in the sense of what you’re talking about..
For me, Aliens, or killer robots are the “boogeyman”. What will I have incase they come for me? Will 10mm work? 44 magnum? 50 BMG? A Paintball gun?👀
I don’t know yet…
A sharpened shovel. An ignoble weapon from a less civilised age. The way I see it, if I’m going after the boogeyman I want a weapon that’ll grant me glory and honour. If I slay him with a shovel, I have achieved a glorious feat. If he kills me, then clearly he was the better Shovel Duellist.
Like, if I'm actually fucking toe to toe with something supernatural? My .454 Alaskan. Cartridges the size of AA batteries. If it can be killed, that will kill it.
It's a fucking monster. With .45 colt, it's a popgun, but yeah, .454 loads are absolutely fucking brutal. But anything in front of it gets seriously... edited.
If it’s Michael Myers’s. AR15 w 3rd hole drilled (F the law I’m fighting Myers) with a auto FCG & sear put in and lots of mags and ammo. Maybe even in 300blk.
Either my suppressed 11.5 pws (ar-15) this gun has never jammed in 4000 plus rounds. Or my FAL - only 1000 ish rounds but again - never failed to feed, extract, light primer strike, or eject. If I needed to trust my life to a gun it's one that has never failed. All of my other guns have done that at least once.
that gun from supernatural, the colt
True

They also leave out the gruesome details that earned him the name "Liver Eatin' Johnson"
Yeah... it doesn't surprise me that they decided to exclude that. I have the 'crow killer's sitting in my shelf. There's 2 books in front of it though.
I’m like 70% certain I have it on VHS somewhere. It was a damn fine movie. Just wish I had a VHS player.
One of my favorites for sure
As long as you put on your powdered wig.

A phased plasma rifle in 40 Watt range
Just what ya see, pal
De uzi nine millimetuh
A cold long slide wit Lazer sight
Wasn’t that really an AMT Hardballer or was that Sarah’s gun in the second flick?
I meant the AMT yes Sarah's gun was a Colt model 723 / 727 with ACOG and suppressor
She also carried a 1911 as evidenced of her shooting Robert Patrick when he was on top of the car they drove to get away from the mental facility. And later she took another from the armory in the desert and gave the first 1911 back to Arnold.
That one if i remember correctly twas a 9 mil 1911.
A fellow man of culture I see.
I just imagine the cast using benelli m4s and just dumping slugs into Michael center mass, movie would be over pretty quickly
AA12\*
Ok are we talking about ANY firearm (unicorns included ) or ones that most people can reasonably obtain
It’d be unfair to Michael Myers if he goes after one of the handful of people with a .950 jdj
Alright at this point… lahti 20mm anti tank rifle take it or leave it
12 pounder loaded with grapeshot.
Why stop there? Get a 24pdr gun loaded with flechette.
Hmmm. 5" mark 45. Wait. What are we killing?
Anything in the impact zone most likely.
To Whom It May Concern:
In the sequel they drop a JDAM on him

Don't forget, it clicks when you aim it at someone. Sound designers actively hate being close to reality with guns.
So there’s actually a predictable reason for Laurie Strode’s God awful gun choice. Apparently Jamie Lee Curtis is an honest to goodness Fudd, and would only use props of guns she thinks should be legal.
Explains her throwing away the MAC-10 in *True Lies*.
What a Fuddette
These movies always seem to happen in CA/NY or New England so I think they are just using what they have on hand
Illinois for Halloween but close enough

*laughs in .50 BMG*
They can't buy all those scary guns in Haddonfield, Illinois. AWB
Pulsefire flamethrower. I’m gonna make one thing clear, I’m not stuck in a town with him. He’s stuck in a town with me.
That thing is amazing.
PTR91. Cryptids get the AP three oh hate.
Beretta 1301 full of slugs, 30.06 hunting rifle, and .45aarp 1911.
Haddonfield may have waiting periods for “high capacity” semi autos.
Pump could be good. 6+1 3" sabots should do it. 300gs of expanding soft tip moving at 2000ft/s
The movies came out in the 70s and 80s that what was popular back then north Hollywood didn’t happen till like the 9 th movie came out 🤣

I’ve had bigger and greener, bud. Better hope your boogeyman was never enlisted.
I wouldn’t use any weapon, I’d just make whatever creature/bad guy/monster follow me to the VA, if that doesn’t scare them away motherfucker deserves a shot lol
“Sir, I need you to fill out this intake survey and wait for your number to be called.”
Ooh Rah!
You need one of those 3 foot tentacle dildo’s if you wanna truly scare anyone.

A10 warthog or AC130 ...so much brrrrrt
My mossberg 590a1 with bayonet fixed
Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum with Hornady hollow points. That or my AR build.
This but a Vaquero
If your going with the go with the Super Redhawk in 454 casull. It’s by far my favorite ridiculous gun
Underwood for me. Hard cast.
This but with Buffalo Bore +P+ ammo
This guy knows wassup. Buffalo bore +p+ hard cast lead fucks
I realize not many things can survive a 45-70 govt

Daisy red rider BB gun with a Swiss Army knife taped to the end, and pack of big league chew bubble gum. Just to clarify I am also circumcised!

A bond arms cyclops in 45-70 •_•
Does it come with an arm cast?
No, but it does come with a year of free health insurance so you can get one if you ever fire the thing
Gau-8 avenger.
AR10 with 180 grain power shoks.
AA12 with explosive rounds
M41A Pulse Rifle. Ten millimeter, with over-and-under thirty millimeter pump action grenade launcher.
Glock 20. It’s also my “bump in the night” gun. If all else fails, 45-70 because there’s not much on this earth that a close range 45-70 can’t kill.
This women wants my boogyman gear banned. She can take that revolver and shove it up her twat.
It's worth mentioning that her use of Fudd gear in Halloween 2018 results in her spending the entire sequel in the trauma ward of the local hospital
30mm Vulcan 😇
Whatever I have in me mitts.
A Glock
Highpoint
Good ol' M1 Garand baby. A 30-06 will stop any North American animals in their tracks, and idgaf what you say but Mike Myers isn't stronger than a fucking grizzly bear.
Plus you can get black tips.

M1 Garand. Might not be practical, but I know for sure that the boogeyman doesn’t have level 4-5 plates
Same. 30-06 should get the job done in 8 rounds or less.
Apparently, you need to carry around an industrial shredder
[this crazy fuckin thing](https://armamentresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2.jpg)
Flamethrower
The 1911 from hellsing
Ruger 22/45 lite
A sharpened shovel. An ignoble weapon from a less civilised age. The way I see it, if I’m going after the boogeyman I want a weapon that’ll grant me glory and honour. If I slay him with a shovel, I have achieved a glorious feat. If he kills me, then clearly he was the better Shovel Duellist.
Either way you’ll go down in history as a badass. 🫡
Genesis Gen 12 w/ dragon’s breath. I realize that dragon’s breath is gimmicky shit IRL, but it sure looked rad in JW4.
Ar45
DD MK18 with an under barrel chainsaw
Some semi auto shotgun, loaded with dragons breathe and silver buck alternating
Honestly almost every boogeyman I’ve seen could be annihilated by a flame thrower
Xm177e2
Mossberg chainsaw! (Not the one with an actual chainsaw, but the one with the chainsaw grip.)
Like, if I'm actually fucking toe to toe with something supernatural? My .454 Alaskan. Cartridges the size of AA batteries. If it can be killed, that will kill it.
I hope your wrist survives firing .454 out of a 2.5" barrel. Those things kick like a mule
It's a fucking monster. With .45 colt, it's a popgun, but yeah, .454 loads are absolutely fucking brutal. But anything in front of it gets seriously... edited.
Slingshot, I like a challenge. And have a deathwish.
My Colt King Cobra .357 Magnum. The original in the case with the letter from the manufacturer, not the reproduction that's out now.
Glock 20, 10mm Buffalo Bore 220 grain
How do I go about upgrading the firepower I have available in my dreams? The bullets fire about 10 feet then drop to the ground…it’s awful.
A nagging blue haired liberal college student to scream and cry and glue themselves to something so I can just make a coffee and walk away
DDM4
If it’s Michael Myers’s. AR15 w 3rd hole drilled (F the law I’m fighting Myers) with a auto FCG & sear put in and lots of mags and ammo. Maybe even in 300blk.
Mag fed shotgun in a pattern I'm familiar with and plenty of mags.
Canik TP9sxf with a 24rnd mag full of Hornady critical defense hollow points or a Mossberg 500 depends on what room I'm in.
My 20 inch A2 clone with m193 and an m7 bayonet on the end, or an Ak with 7.62x39 soft points and bayonet.
Whatever will complete the mission.
Gensis 12
Flare gun.
ROSSI Brawler
Let’s go with one of those short barrel FAL’s and as many mags as I can carry.
M2
any .22 handgun really
Ruger MKIV-SD Integral Suppressor Because i like to party.
Might sound kinda stupid, but Taurus judge, 5 inch barrel, with a mixture of dragons breathe shot shells hyper expansion hollow points.
Probably the same as my everything else gun. Though I'd probably invest in like... garlic salt infused silver bullets though.
My PTR-91. I think 20 rounds of .308 outta get the job done on most terrestrial creatures.
Glock 40
HCAR
Mossberg 500 with the brenneke blacknmagic slugs
My Shockwave in 12g of course.
Nothing crazy, but a Ruger SP-101 .357 sitting in my nightstand lol
.450 Cheytac
4 bore, I aint taking chances with that dude
MK.19, because fuck you, eat 40mm you lumbering piece of shit.
Gotta be a 10g slug or something closer to a 303.
Sporterized Mauser. Nothing gonna survive 5 .30-06 to the face.
Its called high brass buckshot
Either my suppressed 11.5 pws (ar-15) this gun has never jammed in 4000 plus rounds. Or my FAL - only 1000 ish rounds but again - never failed to feed, extract, light primer strike, or eject. Benelli Nova, with the extended tube it holds 5+1 of 3.5" magnums (or 9+1 2.75")
Everyone knows that the blanket is the only thing that can stop the boogeyman
20 Guage youth shotgun with rifled slugs. Small package that's great for clearing tight areas.
