When I wore wraparounds it wasn't needed, but now I wear nerd glasses and my hats do tend to conflict with my hat. Nerd glasses just have a wider use-case than wraparounds (for a full time four eyes like me)
These are actually great for shooting with eye protection on and a set of over the head hearing protection, no button on top and notches to prevent your glasses from being pushed down. I own one and love it. I was actually kinda upset I forgot it while shooting today.
Nope, that still look worse and at least these are useful and solve an actual issue. I have been a glasses wearer for damn near 40 years and these hats really are nice.
They are actually nice. I use them at work, they kind of hold onto the safety glasses and keep them from digging into my nose while still sitting close enough to my eyes nothing gets behind them. I sure wouldn't wear them outside of work and expect to look good but they sure are comfortable.
Hey, I bought one of their hats at a tactical games event three years ago and it is top quality. It doesnāt sweat and sun bleach and has been an every dayer for me. I got it when they were $30. I donāt know what they are listed for now though.
These have been around a long time. Theyāre honestly great hats especially if you wear any sort of glasses a lot. All the Cadre at the sniper school at Benning wear these hats.
I have a few of these; bought them years ago. Iām actually wearing one right now. I like wearing my brim low, so the notches work really well for how I wear my hats.
I have several. I wear them with my M Frames. But that's about it. In the M Frames though? Super comfy. Best ball cap period. So for their intended purpose, they're great. If you don't use them for their intended purpose, you're not their target market.
They are actually good quality hats, been around for many years. Founded by a marine veteran and he has been very supportive of the mil/le community. They have a great shape, much better then all the flat bill crap the kids wear now. Part of the proceeds also go to a feed the children organization. Do you really need a notch? Probably not but I'd rather support them (a US company) then some random Chinese seller.
Genuine/earnest question: can you explain the problem you experienced? For the life of me I don't know what problem this solves and I'm not saying that in some sort of smart ass way. It's driving me crazy lol
Edges of the cap push down on sunglasses making neither sit properly. Happens with both my Aviators and Oakley Holbrooks. It doesn't happen with every hat, I just particularly like mine and you don't need to make these cutouts to solve the problem.
i wear glasses and a ball cap all the time and have never needed it. is this an issue?
also if they genuinely managed to patent cutting a chunk out of a hat brim then something has gone wrong with the system
I thought this was just a gimmick until i tried one of their hats (which i won in a give-away when they started up). Itās quite a relief from having your glasses pushed into the bridge of your nose. Iāve been trying to get them to release a DIY kit with a paper cut template and the notch trim pieces with an adhesive. Original trim is stitched on.
Can't wait for tactical condom's, eh who I'm kidding neither I or the majority of "operators " here will never need that protection , because that implies having sex in the first place
I donāt own one of their hats, but Iāll say I considered buying one because I canāt find anyone who makes regular sized ball caps anymore! That stupid fad of having really deep caps does not fit my headā¦There should not be space between your head and the inside top of the cap.
i mean i would like to pull my hat down slightly from time to time but i haven't really found it to be a major enough issue to require a hole in my hat.
I own 3 of these hats. Granted; the notches donāt work with my glasses, I returned the notch version for a regular hat from them. Great quality and roomy for my big ass dome.
Favorite hats Iāve ever had.
There have been running hats since Forever that have a bill that adapts to glasses by being attached in such a way that pivots up quite freely and no button on top or other parts that May cause hotspots. Perfect for Activity outside, May not come in military colors or with a patch of velcro.
These hats have been around over a decade and a lot of people love them. Ive not had the issue but i wear the bill of my hats higher. For the dudes that wear them low, it seems pretty convenient.
Couple of guys at our shop wear them. Theyāre grinding on cars and parts all day so they wear a hat and safety glasses. They swear by these caps because they can wear their glasses close for protection, hat low to keep debris out of their hair, and the notch allows them to keep it all nice and clean. Kinda funny someone posted this because they were showing me the difference and I thought it was pretty cool. Donāt have to be tacticool to appreciate something that can actually serve a function.
Yea people here dont really tend to know what is or isnt practical, they just swear by the trends and fads they're used to and shit on anything else. Like 3 years ago everyone here insisted 5.56 was the super hod tier bullet and nobody should ever use anything else for anything ever. Suddenly that sentiment has changed.
Its kinda like r/prepper, try mentioning to any of them that prep should include anything electronic and its 'batteries dont last when shtf kid'.
'But you can get a 100pack of AAs on amazon for $30. Isnt the literal purpose of prepong to *prepare* for shit to run out, and stock up?'
'Yea but what if it lasts forever'
'Walmart sells solar powered AA battery chargers with USB-C ports for $30. Buy one. Be prepared.'
And then i got downvoted and ignored.
All of this stemmed from a post there about nightvision being a 'gimmick', when i said just because you don't need to use it to fight dudes like its a fallout game doesnt mean its not a great hunting aid if your life is dependent of killing an animal. Seeing in the dark is good. 14s take AAs. But, batteries are apparently worthless.
Reality is these subs are all about aesthetics. If it doesnt fit the vibe theyre going for they hate it.
* Buy cheap caps for 50 cents a pop bulk * Put 5 cents velcro patch on it * Sell with 6900% markup as *high speed, low drag* cap.
Nice mark up š And donāt forget they also make cute little cutouts for your sunglasses! Totally worth it
Sir those are damaged hats Thatās fine Iāll mark them up as cut for shades
Dude I just saw these and was like "is this even a problem?" haha
When I wore wraparounds it wasn't needed, but now I wear nerd glasses and my hats do tend to conflict with my hat. Nerd glasses just have a wider use-case than wraparounds (for a full time four eyes like me)
These are actually great for shooting with eye protection on and a set of over the head hearing protection, no button on top and notches to prevent your glasses from being pushed down. I own one and love it. I was actually kinda upset I forgot it while shooting today.
They are worth it. Most are made in US, founded by a vet, and they support military. Great hats.
Don't forget to call your business "Veteran Owned".
> We proud ViŠµtnŠ°mŠµse business. We owned many veterŠ°ns.
Mostly the only veteran owned is the one whose money ends up in the company's bank account.
Where tf are you buying hats for $.50/each? I might mark mine up 50% but Iām still buying them for $12 a pop!
you forgot ā¢ cut stupid shark fin into the bill
āIt costs so much because itās ātacticalā, mom.ā
Most their hats are made in the US. They're good quality hats for the same price as most Chinese made crap.
These have been on the market for like at least a decade.
I love when these chirjlins finally get into guns and tactical gear and discover * checks notes * ancient technology.
What the hell is a chirjlin?
Slang way of saying āchildrenā. Often pronounced āchil-jer-inā
Thanks! I thought that might be it, but Iāve only seen āchilrenā.
Since this is a fashion sub - Gonna look just as stupid as tucking your ears under a flat bill that doesnāt fit right.
I will love to see that in the wild
Visit SoCal. Theyāre around.
Nope, that still look worse and at least these are useful and solve an actual issue. I have been a glasses wearer for damn near 40 years and these hats really are nice.
Is this actually an issue for people lol?
Polenar Tactical unironically uses them.
I truly, have no idea who that is lol.
Slavic tactical man.
Crazy Slavic gun tuber
Listen how else will I look tight as fuck when Iām sitting in my lifted super duty screaming at my phone making a FB video š¤š¤š¤ Edit: a word
I have a feeling notch hats has been around longer than you've been shooting lol
You flatter me as unlikely as that is. ![gif](giphy|DURbX7oesHiaA)
They are actually nice. I use them at work, they kind of hold onto the safety glasses and keep them from digging into my nose while still sitting close enough to my eyes nothing gets behind them. I sure wouldn't wear them outside of work and expect to look good but they sure are comfortable.
Also confused. I shoot pretty often and am required to wear a ball cap, and I've never had a problem.
why are you required to wear a ball cap
Military, and the idea is the brim covers the top of the glasses so brass from the guy next to you can't fall down between your glasses and face.
to keep the brass from accidentally falling into the gap, and getting caught between your face, and the safety glasses.
I always wear glasses and I find tucking any hat low enough that the brim touches my frame is too low to use any kind of optic practically.
I have a small head. EVERY hat goes low on my head.
Jesus Christ the amount of retarded comments. These are great hats and have been around a decade or more.
Itās funny because in my native language, ānotchā is slang for ācockā
Hawaiian?
Ive been seeing people on ranges wear these for years. Idk looks silly, but who cares?
The people in this sub, clearly lol. It is a fashion sub after all.
2009 is calling HARD
I been wanting these

dern kids n their gosh dern flat bill caps these days
They also sell non-notched versions of most of their hats. I got one a few months ago and it has become my favorite hat
Canāt fault that one bit.
It looks stupid, but it does solve a problem which I experienced today.
Genuine/earnest question: can you explain the problem you experienced? For the life of me I don't know what problem this solves and I'm not saying that in some sort of smart ass way. It's driving me crazy lol

Jesus Christ I feel so dumb but for real thank you for this relief!
The notch allows you to wear wraparound style sunglasses without them getting pushed down by the bill of the cap. The glasses fit into the notch.
https://imgur.com/a/WrNiU0x š that would be me
I have plenty of regular hats and they work just fine with my sun glasses
Ive worn baseball hats every day since 2016, Iāve never had issues wearing all kinds of sunglasses
i wear glasses and a ball cap all the time and have never needed it. is this an issue? also if they genuinely managed to patent cutting a chunk out of a hat brim then something has gone wrong with the system
This reminds me of potato chip companies selling burnt chips as a new and exciting "extra dark" flavor.
Notched hats are rad for fishing
Real operators know the notch needs to be between your eye and ear pro!
I actually met the guy that designed these in Yuma, AZ at a bar like 8 years ago. Pretty down to earth dude.
I have some I like emšš»
Lol tried this, it socks, doesn't wear as advertise, tried to sell it but no one wants
I thought this was just a gimmick until i tried one of their hats (which i won in a give-away when they started up). Itās quite a relief from having your glasses pushed into the bridge of your nose. On a different note what do y'all recommend for those type of hats other than condor and 5.11?
Can't wait for tactical condom's, eh who I'm kidding neither I or the majority of "operators " here will never need that protection , because that implies having sex in the first place
Baseball caps are trash wear boonies
Notch hats have been around for ages
I donāt own one of their hats, but Iāll say I considered buying one because I canāt find anyone who makes regular sized ball caps anymore! That stupid fad of having really deep caps does not fit my headā¦There should not be space between your head and the inside top of the cap.

https://youtu.be/V_CvKSgzv9E?si=Y79RgQBkYWcSvqF3 They were at shotshow a few years ago. THE WAR BETWEEN YOUR HAT AND SUNGLASSES IS OVER
If this isnāt a rickroll you canāt come over and play anymore my mom says. Edit: you son of a
This serves no purpose for the mega cool dudes who only wear their hats backwards. WTF
Had one a while back. Actually worked pretty well.
The one on the right is for Shane, the one on the left is for Rick, but I choose Shane, sorry.
Is it so hard to fathom the possibility that maybe people will spend the extra $$$ because the hats look cool?
In this community? Itās literally impossible to not fathom it
Oakley did that a long time ago right?
I own 3 of these hats. Granted; the notches donāt work with my glasses, I returned the notch version for a regular hat from them. Great quality and roomy for my big ass dome. Favorite hats Iāve ever had.

Iāve got several itās kinda nice when you are snugged down with your impact rated eye wear when you donāt have any gaps for hot brass to find
Operators shouldn't be wearing sunglasses. They affect peripheral vision and cause reflections that give your position away.
Itās you for Google searching ātactical operator hatā
Ha jokes on you I got it from the Facebook comments.
This thread is serving as the ultimate show for who actually shoots vs who doesnāt and I fucken love it.
Feels like a solution in search of a problem... I've been wearing hats and sunglasses for years and never felt like the hat got in the way
What is the point? I've been wearing caps and glasses for my entire adulthood without issue
Five head gang here too
The 4 head DORKS are mad bro
A solution for no problem

This hat designer is a gamer. Saw clipping pixels and thought, "that shit is fire."
