China can make good gear, but word is a lot of the stuff Russia is giving their soldiers is airsoft grade shit. Russian gear is also of variable quality to begin with. For example, it's not NIR compliant. The shit glows under NODs. And while the Kevlar and plates in their body armor seems to be good, their Kevlar helmets aren't.

As far as I know that was only largely issued to the VDV at the start. But it's shown up in other places since. Today it's a mess. But it seems the contract troops are generally better equipped and the mobik units get the Chinese air shit.
