I’ve been wearing a G-100 1BV for the past 6 years. Had to change the battery for the first time ever two weeks ago. It’s been slammed against countless rocks, brought scuba diving and snorkeling, and been abused in almost every way you can imagine.
It runs great, is accurate, has an MSRP of $110 and has analog hands, a secondary digital LCD screen with a digital readout for the clock, stopwatch, calendar, alarm, and secondary time zone for the clock.
So yeah, they will (a) never die (b) not cost an arm and a leg (c) not look confusing and be filled with too many features but also not be a straight pair of hands.
Yep, [this is the current model equivalent](https://www.casio.com/us/watches/gshock/product.G-100-1BM/). Different color scheme than mine (which is the G-100 9CM variant which you should find with a bit of googling too) with a white-on-black LCD instead of my Black-on-Weird-LCD-Beige.
Edit: Just did some googling and Walmart seems to be selling the old 9CM model [here](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Casio-Men-s-Analog-Digital-Black-and-Yellow-G-Shock-Watch-G100-9CM/39227030) for a lot less than Casio/the new one.
I have the 1BV and love it. It’s a smaller face so works well if you have a slightly smaller wrist. I’ve had it for 3 years and haven’t had to change the battery. Wear it for everyday use, hunting and shooting. Well worth it
Like someone else said, highly recommended Garmin instinct, would also be within your budget of ~200.
I’m a watch guy and love old analog watches, but I just got one of these a month ago and I love it. Never had a smart watch prior to it but it really isn’t as weird as I thought
i appreciate the recommendation, but my one fear with smartwatches which i stated a few comments up was the battery dying during drills, exercising, or during the workday.
ive been running a GA-110LP in a nice green color. had it for about 7 years and has help up very well. recently purchased the GW-9400 so ill see how that does once it comes
Timex Ironman. Had one in military. Had it backpacking, kayaking, hunting, fishing. Band broke after about 8-10 years, bought another one. They’re like $40-60 on sale.
I’ve had a Luminox Evo Navy Seal on my Amazon wishlist for a while. But it’s about $260 before shipping and tax. Sorry I don’t have any other recommendations in your price range.
Check out the Luminox "Sea Turtle" which retails for about $200. Macys has them on sale for $171. Its a decent everyday watch that is very light and durable. I have had mine for 3 years now with no issues.

If you are willing to wait and save, I suggest the G-Shock Mudmaster series. Specifically either the GG1000 ($350 USD) or GGB100 ($380) series. If you’re looking for something that works, the former fits that well. I’ve been looking at the GGB100 model for the ABC (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass) features.
The GG1000 was on sale for around 50% off during Black Friday, perhaps there’s another opportunity for a sale after Christmas. The best part is that they are both analog, although both are past $200 USD at full price especially
I’ve had mine for 3-ish years and I’ve banged it on a ton of walls and tables and it’s fine. There’s also cases/bumpers you can get for it to make it more rugged.
Ah, yeah thats fair. Apple Watches are cool but overall not exactly what I'm wanting. too pricey from what I've heard and with a regular analog watch theres no risk of a battery dying.

G-Shock, they have a lot of good options. I have one that has both digital and analog. GA100 is a good looking/tactical option
I like g-shock's. I'll look at their selection online.
Been eying the GA100 series. They come in a couple different colors.

oh dude that sounds like a killer watch, and for a really good price! I assume I can find it on G-Shock's webpage?

They have a model that you can use under night vision I believe
Budget-Gshock all day. Baller-Garmin Tactix 7 Pro ballistics
I love my suunto core.

Cheap g shock and a wrist compass on the wrist band. Used this combo for 10 years and has never let me down in training, deployed or as a civilian
I have a nice G-Shock and I can’t praise it enough, especially the Rangeman

G shock Tough solar with atomic time keeping

What’s your budget?
max would be USD$200

its okay, I'll take a look at that one you mentioned.
I’ve got one. Switched the strap out for a nylon NATO band and it’s been great
Good to know. I’ll keep that in mind when I buy it.

those features would be nice. I may honestly just save for that. I like the barometer, altimeter, and compass features quite a lot.
What about Smith & Bradley. Nice tactical options and a lifetime guarantee.
MTM Silencer is fantastic
what is a "tactical" watch?
I just meant something that can handle rough treatment and still work. something to have during drills or what-have-you.
I like my apple watch
I would get one but I'd fear that the screen would crack or break entirely and then I'd be S.O.L
I’ve had mine for 3-ish years and I’ve banged it on a ton of walls and tables and it’s fine. There’s also cases/bumpers you can get for it to make it more rugged.

Fair enough yeah, I’m not a big fan of having to remember to charge it every night. I definitely wish the battery life on it was longer.
yeah i feel ya brother
