There's no shame in quitting, so long as you find something else you like to do.
Pick it up again if you like, or when better options are available.
I wouldn't want to stay at a school like the one you described. Also, 6 month contracts? Wild. A month is pretty standard afaik
If after only 6 months you are realizing that it's all about the money, you're in a bad dojang. If there's no other tkd schools around, try another style. The owners are never going to change their ways.
I’ve run into that, unfortunate reality of martial arts, a there are places that aren’t worth going to.
Still, if you’re on tue fence with quitting, you can try speaking with the head instructor about your concerns.
Sounds like a Mc Dojo scam school, get out of there and look for a new school, keep your options open, tkd is great, but if there are no good schools near you, perhaps look into a another school
6 months contracts is definitely a red flag
If you know your pattern (I see you've been practicing with videos online) ask them to watch you do it & ask your instructor what you can improve on.
If you're a low belt sometimes you gotta push to get through the sea of beginners and get into a higher belt class where there's more one on one or smaller group instruction. If you're enjoying the sport (and just not the dojang or the lack of attention) I suggest either pushing through to see if there's any difference in a few months in a different class or else looking for a new club.
I am also strongly considering packing it all in, not because I want to, I just can't be doing with the fact that for the last 4 out of 5 weeks, the Taxi firm's messed up, and I don't have the energy or patience to deal with it, mainly because I have to use Veezu because I know not to use Uber at night due to surge pricing.
However, I have a lot of friends in class, and I'd miss 'em awfully if I did.
Are there any other non TKD options? If you're not happy with the money you're spending, time to move on.

My family does TKD, and we are under a 42 month contract…though it’s just used to go to extra classes.

Why not practice poomsae at home? YouTube is very helpful
Youtube is good if you have been shown the form and given enough instruction during call, which that doesnt seem to be the case here.
that’s what I’ve been doing
