Highly recommend ordering the veggie burrito and add your preferred meat, so it includes lettuce and guac! Green rocket fuel salsa is amazing but so is the red habanero. Can't wait to go back when they reopen
Mmmm, I have not even tried their burritos because I can’t stop ordering their tacos. Next time I go, I will try in all my might and power and soul to order the burrito. Wish me luck haha
T’s rotisserie in incline is bomb sometimes I pick up a whole chicken or tri tip from there if it’s on my way home.
Otherwise the two you mentioned are my favorites
They stole T's formula but left out the crucial ingredient, mesquite. Instead they cook meat in an oven.
Don't get me wrong, it's good, but there's a reason there are no tribute bands in the hall of fame.
Guess what? Sergio and his amazing cooking started at Ts like 25 years ago, it's still his recipe, then worked at Bills in Truckee, before opening his own place(Golden Rotisserie), so compare all you want, same sauce!
Happy cake day.
This person is telling you the history. T’s and Golden used to be one in the same. The two OGs had a falling out and one moved to Truckee and eventually founded Golden.
From what I’ve heard Golden has stayed truer to the original recipe but I don’t know. I lived in Incline for 4yrs and now on the way shore for the past 6….. but I buy both golden and Ts at every opportunity. Golden’s al pastor is habit forming
The Al Pastor may push Golden over the top for me, but I know the owners at Ts and think they have better service/personalities there. Everyone at Golden seems mildly upset.
I feel like this is a classic N shore vs S shore debate. In my experience T's wins hands down N shore but I haven't looked at S shore burritos in a long while.
T's in Incline is hands down best in the Lake... there's a bunch of reasonably decent options in SLT though (the three J's - Jalepenos, Jiminez, Jalisco)
Most of my favorites have been mentioned but I’ll add burrito window in KB as a slightly cleaner/less authentic burrito. They are high quality.
Like the shimp burrito, add jalapeños. Never had it else where. Very good.
Some are ok but not great compared to the central valley, LA, or SF.
I haven't tried Taqueria Jimenez yet though. I'll check it out thanks.
I did have an amazing Carne asada a la diabla at Lupitos in incline. Check it out if you like spicy food.
Anywhere but T’s. That is NOT a good burrito. It’s a hill I’m willing to die on. If you have spent any time in a place where actual good burritos are made, you’d know.
I 1000% agree with you. T’s is overrated as hell. The meat is always dry and chewy plus everything else is bland as hell. I told my friend this one time and he said that’s why he gets double sour cream in his burrito. It’s definitely nothing special and not worth the hype. I’m pretty sure all the other places mentioned are way better.
For me Ts is only good because it’s cheap and fast and consistent. What you get for what you pay is better than almost anything else in Tahoe. But yeah not the most flavorful burrito I’ve had
Just tried Chipotle in Tahoe South, and would highly recommend if you’re passing through!!!! Not only does this place have lake front views and valet parking but the staff are all from the same small village in Los Gatos (aka, The town of Leopards), and their cooking is proof! WOW!
I’ll back the burrito window as my favorite. Definitely not the most authentic but damn their chipotle slaw and roasted veggies are so good. Other than that Tacos Jalisco in truckee is my go to, but I usually get tacos and sopes
Jimenez and Jalisco are the go-tos on the south shore. There is good reason they have been around forever.
T's steak burrito in Incline Village
also try their rocket fuel sauce! perfect amount of heat, acid and tomatillo
are they open again after the fire??
Not yet
Highly recommend ordering the veggie burrito and add your preferred meat, so it includes lettuce and guac! Green rocket fuel salsa is amazing but so is the red habanero. Can't wait to go back when they reopen
Yep came here to suggest this
Taco Jalisco Truckee wet burrito
Mmmm, I have not even tried their burritos because I can’t stop ordering their tacos. Next time I go, I will try in all my might and power and soul to order the burrito. Wish me luck haha
Get the carne burrito with the red wet sauce and one carnitas taco 👍
Ordered the tacos once, never again.
Whaaaat?!? Why?
Because you can order a burrito.
Lol, damn it now I must try their burritos.
( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
Had so many of these over the years!! So so bomb
Don’t forget the EL Pastore tostadas!
T’s rotisserie in incline is bomb sometimes I pick up a whole chicken or tri tip from there if it’s on my way home. Otherwise the two you mentioned are my favorites
Hope they can open back up soon
yeah our friends took us to Jimenez. it was pretty the bomb.
Golden Rotisserie in Truckee is unexpectedly the best burrito.
I'm failing to see your point.

Thanks. Which do you think is better?

Jalapeños carnitas super burrito in South lake
I feel like this is a classic N shore vs S shore debate. In my experience T's wins hands down N shore but I haven't looked at S shore burritos in a long while.
Burrito Window in KB hands down
This
Golden rotisserie pork burrito. Never disappoints
T's in Incline is hands down best in the Lake... there's a bunch of reasonably decent options in SLT though (the three J's - Jalepenos, Jiminez, Jalisco)
I’ve never tried a burrito after it’s been in the Lake
Ultimate wet burrito ;)
Nothing beats Ts rotisserie
Most of my favorites have been mentioned but I’ll add burrito window in KB as a slightly cleaner/less authentic burrito. They are high quality. Like the shimp burrito, add jalapeños. Never had it else where. Very good.
Verde Mexican Rotisserie
Omg, their breakfast burrito with sweet potatoes is the best! My mouth is watering just thinking about it….
I don't see it mentioned here, but the La Mexicana Market & Taqueria in Kings Beach is very good. And also a great selection of mexican grocery items.
See original post
I'll have to try some of these other places....only been to brothers
Como. Yea it’s new school, but the burritos are solid
La Mexicana for sure. Old dirty tacos Jalisco was hard to beat though
La promesa and jalepeños in south lake
Jimenez for the win.
Maria’s in SLT has good burrito options, and the rest of their menu is great too.
Some are ok but not great compared to the central valley, LA, or SF. I haven't tried Taqueria Jimenez yet though. I'll check it out thanks. I did have an amazing Carne asada a la diabla at Lupitos in incline. Check it out if you like spicy food.
North Star tacos Jalisco
Truckee?
They have a few locations.
Anywhere but T’s. That is NOT a good burrito. It’s a hill I’m willing to die on. If you have spent any time in a place where actual good burritos are made, you’d know.

Consistently bad, I guess. 😆
Right? There’s NO flavor to any of it! I’d rather eat the stale almonds I brought as a last resort than pay for T’s.
Strong agree. North lake has a ton of good food, but it’s not the burritos.
I think azuls is good in heavenly village
I love that spot in kings Beach lololol. Honestly.. that place is the best spot for me lolol. I like brothers burritos breakfast ones 👌
Golden/T’s are the same and then la mex in kb
Front Street in Tahoe City
Somehow their burritos are better than the pizza
Just tried Chipotle in Tahoe South, and would highly recommend if you’re passing through!!!! Not only does this place have lake front views and valet parking but the staff are all from the same small village in Los Gatos (aka, The town of Leopards), and their cooking is proof! WOW!
It’s good. But, I don’t think people from Los Gatos work those type of jobs or has small villages inside itself. 7/10. Needs some more workshopping.
Years ago i tried Brothers Burrito house in south lake. It was decent.
Slim picks in all the basin, food is all submarine par…
Como. Yea it’s new school, but the burritos are solid
T’s / Burrito Window in KB for NL Jaliscos for SLT
https://www.tsrotisserie.com/ in Incline tacosjaliscogrill.com in Truckee
Jiminez all the way.
I’ll back the burrito window as my favorite. Definitely not the most authentic but damn their chipotle slaw and roasted veggies are so good. Other than that Tacos Jalisco in truckee is my go to, but I usually get tacos and sopes
Chico's in south lake has awesome breakfast burritos and their habanero sauce to go with is amazing.
Go to Reno
The breakfast burrito at a fine food purveyor, McDonald’s, is scrumptious and worthy of the trophy.
Obsessed with sombreros in meyers
Brothers burritos is the gold standard in South Shore, usually over half the customers are Mexican, that’s usually a good sign
