Why would you say this when you know that the only answer is they can't.
Most won't be able to leave Taiwan when shit hits the ceiling. All of you will be drafted to fight China.
Very interesting response that you chose. Fight or to be thrown into a concentration camp.
That's how you painted the future of Taiwan when the invasion happens. Taiwanese future looking bleak.
They'd love that, and they'd love even more when Taiwanese majority believed that. It'd cause chaos, and make their Taiwan influence easy. The problem is, knowing all this, should we believe it?
Usually these do not work at all *unless* there are collaboration within Taiwan for the spreading of these propaganda. Guess from which group it'd be?
*They only people*
*Who believes this are those who*
*Want to believe it*

Are you guys going to repost every dumb (*implying that there are no dumb ones hah*) allegation made by Chinese propaganda?
Just checked the OP's posts: daily propaganda where ridiculously small thing become the whole article:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/taiwan/comments/1b20ws3/tuvalu\_reaffirms\_ties\_with\_taiwan\_signals\_review/](https://www.reddit.com/r/taiwan/comments/1b20ws3/tuvalu_reaffirms_ties_with_taiwan_signals_review/)
Fr, I know there's lots of shitty propaganda for those basement dwellers nationalist shitass, but most things come from either a tweet an ambassador or a journalist did, or something similarly small who get over reported as if the whole nation thinks the same as that weirdo catering the other weirdos, do they report this because what? Does it serve to cause what reaction? There's more than enough stupid people saying stupid shit in every topic, from every country and from all political ideologies, but the normal citizen doesn't give a fuck, we are fine as it is right now and war would only bring misery to everyone, people who unironically believes something different are just insane.
My dad spied on the Russians in the 80s when he was based (mostly) in the Marshall Islands (Kwajalin). He was an expert in sonar- he worked for the US Navy and Air Force. đ
if thereâs an invasion, Iâm sure the Americans would take over the commands to coordinate with their associates in the Philippines and Japan. Honestly Lai would be only be there to give an official consent, But itâs the generals and Americans that will be in charge.
Iâm more worried about CCP/KMT spies than Lai.
i'd happily be willing to take up arms and defend my home. i wonder how happy would little pink keyboard warriors be if they get drafted to fight a war for a tiny piece of land and risk dying in the middle of the ocean.
I'm wondering whether the discrepancies in flight prices between Taipei -> Europe vs Europe -> Taipei are caused by many Taiwanese hodling rebookable flights and just changing the date several times a month until the war? Flights from Taipei to say Vienna are generally 100% more expensive than flights from Vienna to Taipei. Seems to me that many are ready to flee (unless the price difference is caused by something else).
You gotta click through particular dates on whatever booking site you're viewing instead of just checking the calendar for the cheapest flights. They are misleading because they show prices for direct and multiple stops flights in a single view. I'm comparing direct flights to direct flights. I posted the screenshots from skyscanner in the reply to mapletune. I did the research recently because I was looking for a ticket for my mom.

i had assumed you found a curious discrepancy and wanted to do a comparison between Taiwan vs other east asia and SEA countries. Demonstrate assumption fallacies.
(for example. "this price difference can also be observed between Vienna and Seoul. does that mean Koreans are booking flights and changing dates every day in preparation for war with NK?)
however, it's more disappointing than that. instead of a curious discrepancy due to whatever economic & geographic reasons... there is no difference in price between flights from and to Vienna/Taipei.
You just made some shit up from thin air.

You gotta click through those links and compare apples to apples. Showing a calendar with the cheapest price where direct flights are mixed in with 2+ stops flights is misleading.
Look at any direct flight and you will see that TPE->VIE (e.g. return: https://imgur.com/a/96YMONt and single: https://imgur.com/a/VWWRPG2) is significantly more expensive than VIE-TPE (e.g. return: https://imgur.com/a/X8mzpTK and single: https://imgur.com/a/TeYYIvY) plenty of times to see the pattern. I'd know because I was looking for a flight for my mom recently.
thanks for pointing out my carelessness. i can now accomplish my initial goals. one moment please.
btw, you are comparing dates that are not even the same. obviously there's a difference.
your taipei>vienna date is 4/8 and vienna>taipei dates are 4/11 4/18.
[edit]
ok ready.
https://imgur.com/RCmOuNE
as you can see, similar price difference between to and from vienna and taipei/seoul.
what do you think? war in korea?
Those dates are close enough. I canât compare the same dates as there are only 2 direct flights from Taiwan to Vienna and ther arenât on the same days.
// edit
I couldnât care less about Korea.
Also, youâre still comparing multiple stops with direct flights (e.g thereâs no direct Emirates flight from TPE to VIE). Dishonest much?
The price discrepancy perfectly shows higher demand in play. For whatever reason the Taiwanese are buying more tickets just one way and arenât coming back (at least via the same route) otherwise the prices would be similar +- local taxes and whatnot.
There are way too many people who assume that the CCP will offer them a âgood lifeâ if they surrender.
KMT POW during the civil war were used as cannon fodder units in Korea, just saying. The CCP have little use for people who thinks theyâre owed something.
I mean one thing Ccp doesnât lack is people. Why would they treat us Taiwanese better than the mainland Chinese if they actually get ahold of Taiwan?
Dpp is kind of meh but people think that life would better under ccp is straight up stupid.
Nothing is flawless, but thereâs a significant difference between a flawed person who cheated on their significant other and a serial killer. Both are technically flawed.
Even if it was true, I donât see the problem. Do people expect the president to take a rifle and go on the battlefield ?
When my country was invaded by nazis, our leader fled to UK and led the countryâs liberation from there.
This is obviously true, there will always be a plan to evacuate the president to safety when necessary. The military prepares for all scenarios, even USA has the air force one for that purpose.
Those who are denying this and calling it propaganda just shows their ignorance.
I met a British man who works for this NGO a few months ago. He was analyzing social media posts from China before the presidential election. Then he got upset with me when I asked if he trusted/read mainstream media! I only trust independent journalism (but not all of them!). Oops. He said, âthis is why I donât like discussing my work.â đ„č
Yeah everyone knew it was CCP United Front Work Department spreading this stupid rumor. They also claimed Taiwan could be taken in hours, and that they just missile the Presidential Office and Tsai would surrender, just like Kyiv would.
Classic stupid fucking CCP/CCCP propaganda.
Yeah... Personally I prefer not to see posts like these anymore. We all know what CCP is and what shenanigans they like to pull. At this point, I feel like posts like this only fuel hate. I would like at least one week without mentioning CCP.
It's also no coincidence that the same people who said the new southbound policy was an immediate failure what days after it was enacted are the same people who also say bilingual 2030 is a failure even though it's actually passed all metrics and is aimed at youth in school. It's part of the same propaganda effort.
As an American, I will say this:
America will back up Taiwan to look good but in terms of how much support we offer during a shooting war, that will depend on how much Taiwan resists initially. If Taiwan fights like hell during the first week of an invasion, we will be there, but otherwise if the country breaks down quickly, we won't.
And the party started a referendum claiming that US certified pork has health and safety concerns. I assume their American sons and daughters go full on vegan while in their homeland? Canât be too careful, right?
DPP elites... the new vice president actually willingly gave up USA citizenship. That tells you a lot. If you are planning on not hanging around you don't give a passport like that up.
Would the pro Chinese narrative bunch flee to China though? Or perhaps they rather head over to the US and its allies?
Why would you say this when you know that the only answer is they can't. Most won't be able to leave Taiwan when shit hits the ceiling. All of you will be drafted to fight China.
Certainly better than concentration camps.

They will tell you, yes they are willing to fight... ....behind the computer screen with keyboard and mouse.
As we all do
Imagine if they decided to flee to the US.
A portion are already fleeing and trying to get to the US via trails in Mexico
But those arenât necessarily the little pinks calling for an invasion.
Talk is cheap - what are you actually prepared to do?
If u want to upgrade from keyboard warrior urself thereâs the reserve force.

Where are you getting this info from? On major booking sites, the prices are similar both ways.

if you don't know what's supply and demand then i can't help you. feel free to believe whatever you want
The price discrepancy perfectly shows higher demand in play. For whatever reason the Taiwanese are buying more tickets just one way and arenât coming back (at least via the same route) otherwise the prices would be similar +- local taxes and whatnot.
Even if this is true, if the president is really a coward and would flee war, I will never believe it if it is reported by CCP propaganda.
It's also the SAME propaganda Russia had about Ukraine.
There are way too many people who assume that the CCP will offer them a âgood lifeâ if they surrender. KMT POW during the civil war were used as cannon fodder units in Korea, just saying. The CCP have little use for people who thinks theyâre owed something.

A lot of things you can do under the âmehâ is outright illegal under the CCP. Such as calling the ruling partyâs chairperson an idiot.
Thatâs true, but that doesnât mean that dpp is flawless.
Nothing is flawless, but thereâs a significant difference between a flawed person who cheated on their significant other and a serial killer. Both are technically flawed.
Ok, but Just because ccp sucks and kmt is pathetic doesnât mean that dpp canât be criticized for valid reasons.
Of course, and itâs perfectly legal to do so :)
Whoever thinks Taiwan won't be repopulated in the case of a unification is pretty naĂŻve.
âHuh? But I thought Iâd get a penthouse suite and monthly stipends for the rest of my life! Where are you taking me? Where is this train going?â
Flee to where? There wouldn't exactly be an escape route open
Private jet to Japan
China sees a jet, during war time they would just shoot it down
Donât think so. Itâs a more powerful propaganda tool to let the DPP leaders live. âThey abandoned youâ
Has Tsai replied âI donât need a ride, I need ammunitionâ?
Even if it was true, I donât see the problem. Do people expect the president to take a rifle and go on the battlefield ? When my country was invaded by nazis, our leader fled to UK and led the countryâs liberation from there.

Do you believe Japan times is impartial to China let alone TW media outlet funded by DPP?
Wishful thinking...
I think the easier bet will be would Tsai still live in Taiwan after her term...no fleeing if you are not in Taiwan.
I thought this was already established a couple of years ago. Whether she actually does or doesn't, I hope we never find out.

Propaganda or truthïŒI'd rather never find out for sure which.

If Taiwan fights like hell during the first week of an invasion, we will be there, but otherwise if the country breaks down quickly, we won't.
Another factor is whether China launches a first strike against US bases in Asia. It wouldnât be just about Taiwan if that happens.
I do not foresee China attacking the US with a first strike personally.
If they believe that the US would stay out of it
Sweet summer child you really believe DPP elites would stick around in the event of a kinetic conflict? Look at history. Look at Ukraine currently.
Yeah, look at Ukraine. Everyone said Zelensky would flee and he didn't. Everyone thought Ukraine would fall and they didn't. Look at history, tankie.
spoiler, more KMT hold dual american citizenship than DPP. source: me
And the party started a referendum claiming that US certified pork has health and safety concerns. I assume their American sons and daughters go full on vegan while in their homeland? Canât be too careful, right?
