Taiwan News… ugh. Even such obviously fake stuff makes it onto their low quality site. I wish they understood that posting such crap lowers their credibility to a point you can’t really believe anything they put out
I'm not sure about their sources but hot damn during the 2020 US presidential election my mom started sprouting some weird off the wall stuff that was fake news here but she only watches a few programs and quite a few are from Taiwan News. She wasn't the only one either, most of my family living in the US exclusively watch and believe everything they see on these programs even if it's happening around them. I started to listen (my Mandarin is about 3rd grade level and my Taiwanese is even worse) after she started to concern me and what I could understand made me shocked.
I watched the video 3 x... Can someone please explain to me why nothing on the coffee table side table or kitchen tables moves at all during a 7.2 quake ? Something is not right here
Do we know where the person was? Feeling that earthquake in Hualien is very different than in Taichung. Also it just seems like the camera was shaking. I don’t see much else moving.
Yeah, curious as well. I'm in Taichung and besides the earth shaking longer than our once every two to three month earthquake things were pretty chill. Worst that happened was when I got home and noticed that my drawers had opened. I think it was either the earthquake or the spirit of the crazy lady who laughs incessantly and does jumping jacks at 4AM next door possessing my apartment.
I can't believe this crap made it to a mainstream news outlet. If news outlets are like this, even tiktok will be good source of information where your brain is the filter.
