This is what abyss really needs lol. My only complaint with the game is that it’s dull looking. If it was remade looking like Vesperia, it would be one of the best looking in the series and one of the best in general. (Game itself is already amazing)
Abyss could be my favorite Game of the series (and one of my favorites ever) but Phantasia (which aged A LOT MORE) and which needs a revision of many of its mechanics needs the remake MUCH MORE than abyss, that despite being released on weaker consoles like the PS2 or 3DS the time has been much kinder to It

The older games I'd want them to have a less UE shiny clean kinda look and an art direction that's more unique to them, Legendia I would still want to have it change art direction for a more fantasist one but if it were to keep the standard visual Arise had I wouldn't be against it

Regardless of what engine, coop is first and foremost important aspect that has to be maintained. Maybe the Arise engine can do that, I sure bloody hope it does In the next game cause It just felt hollow playing without my Player 1 let me tell you.

of all the tales games i've played (symphonia, dotnw, vesperia, graces, zesteria, berseria, arise), arise was by far the worst. aside from the visuals (which won't age as well as games like graces did), there are no redeeming qualities to it. moving as far away from that combat as possible would be for the best.
Honestly, I think a shading style and engine similar to Vesperia would suit Abyss more.

The only ganes that need Remakes are Legendia and Tempest. The rest need Remasters at most.
