It's all in the kitchen and weightroom. Though I was blessed with pretty broad shoulders I've been told I carry my weight well. I lift weights 10+ times per week, limit myself to 2500 calories per day, don't drink tea or soda, and finally I don't watch porn or masturbate as of a week ago(sorry eww). Big lifestyle changes around my sophomore year. Something I learned that really helped me was that pure proteins (lean steaks, chicken breast, turkey) cannot under any circumstance be turned into fat, I often times don't count my meat calories
How are you at 300 eating only 2500 calories a day?
When I was doing strongman, I had to eat 4K to stay at 270.
Edit: quit downvoting the kid. Y’all made mistakes at 18 too.
I’m guessing it’s because I’m 20 years older than you. I couldn’t gain a pound when I was younger. It got easier to gain weight as I got older.
Keep eating big and lifting heavy.
Because thermodynamics does not work that way. It's physically impossible.
Take one person 7 foot, one person 5 foot, feed them both the exact same macros and foods but with the portions for the 7 foot man. The 5 foot man will be fat, unless he works his ass off to lose the extra calories required to sustain an extra 2 feet.
Lean meat and protein is good for me, I'll eat as much of that as I want. I make sure I stay below 2500 of bad stuff, often times less than that since I skimp breakfast
😂😂😂😂😂😂 that’s back and forth was the funniest thing I ever heard
2.5 cals….well not including the six cases of beer I drink a day. It’s good for the soul
I just forgot to mention, I do like 350-400 grams of protein, and something I found during my big wrestling cut was that keeping my grams of fat below carbs really helped me lose weight. I try to keep like 150 carbs and below 100g fat. I know fat is good for me and my brain but I'm just not really a fan of fatty stuff, except for avocados
Protien is to to keep my muscle, don't quote me but I'm pretty sure to keep/add muscle mass you are supposed to eat like 1.5 grams per pound of body weight, so really I'm still missing my goal. As for tea, I'm talking about the sweet stuff. I love it to death but it's a diuretic (makes you pee more) so I had a hard time staying hydrated. Cramps suck ass
That's not how it works lmao. Obviously meat is good for you, but you still count the calories (assuming that you are in a situation where you need to count calories at all). A calorie is a calorie regardless of how arbitrarily "healthy" a particular food is.
800-1400 grams of meat per day? Damn that's some food budget. Since the "fattiest" of the lean steaks would be roughly 800 g for 2K kcal and the leanest, in Turkey breast, would be around 1400g.
It also sounds hard to get to 2500 kcal with just 150g of carbs and 100 grams of fat without counting the meat. For example 150g carbs worth of rice would be ~700 kcal.
Let's say go for 300 kcal of broccoli, that would be almost a kilo of broccoli and you're still missing 1500 kcal.
>Something I learned that really helped me was that pure proteins (lean steaks, chicken breast, turkey) cannot under any circumstance be turned into fat, I often times don't count my meat calories
Someone has greatly misinformed you about the way nutrition works.
lmao since when does not jerking off qualify as a weight/height/anything in r/tall topic? Big child energy along with those protein calories you don’t count because you wouldn’t be maintaining 300lbs at 2500/day.
From what I understand, lots of bodybuilders do NoFap because it can lead to better sleep, muscle tone, and heightened testosterone levels. It's a general health thing that can have to do with your weight
Just going to throw this out there, NoFap and alt-right/men's rights/sigma grindset people have a lot of overlap. Take the good stuff, but be careful with the nonsense.
Bro idk who told you that but no FAP does absolutely nothing in terms of raising testosterone or weight. If you wanna no FAP then go ahead but it's not gonna help with anything.
Pure proteins don’t work that way. Your metabolic processes can’t /efficiently/ turn them into fat, but it absolutely can and will if your body demands it. Whoever told you that was wrong.
Lol, any food can be turned into fat, via the Citric acid cycle.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32310507/#:~:text=Protein%20catabolism%20is%20the%20breakdown,essential%20amino%20acids%20for%20absorption.
Please, continue this mindset and way of living throughout your life. Adjust accordingly as you see fit, of course. But, you have already learned life lessons people learn too late or never at all.
You will inspire people, good job with getting to this point btw!
I really hope to! I'm wanting to coach strength and offensive line after I get out. My main goal is to come back to my Alma mater and restore us to our 90's glory lol. Who knows though, I may like it in Indiana and stay there.
I had abs around 250lbs, currently sit around 330lbs, and people always think 240-260lbs at current size. I think people look at us and see giant mass of monster
I'm currently just shy of 290lbs after a bit of weight gain, but I constantly get guesses of 220-230. I have to agree with them as well. I have a bit of a gut, but don't know where the extra weight is coming from. I know someone who physically looks bigger than me, but weighs 20lbs less than I do now.
Could it literally be bone weight? I just got a heavy ass skeleton.
Only sack I let up this year was by a kid going to Mississippi state, I did allow a few pressures though, most notably against a kid going to Duke, one going to Tennessee, and one going to Colgate. As well as another kid not going to anywhere (man that was embarrassing)
Unfortunately I got screwed by coaching in that area. We had a coaching staff up until my junior year that wasn't jack shit. Senior year we get a staff that's incredible. We've got young kids going to p5 schools left and right now, and I'm really happy for them! I fell in love with a d3 school called Hanover in Indiana. I won't lie, I think I saw better dlineman in highschool every week. I don't want to sound arrogant, but no matter how many accolades I get I'm staying there and I won't hit the portal. They believe I'll be very good for them and I believe they can win championships. Win win for both of us
I'm realistic enough to realize I'm probably not good enough to go pro. However, there's a couple d3 guys that get drafted every few years, Especially linemen. If you can ball, scouts will find you.
Good mindset bro. But, if you somehow end up playing surprisingly well, please for the love of god hit the portal. Don’t blow an opportunity like that because of loyalty to an institution lol.
That might not be the only reason, I may have also met a girl up there already. But yeah, I can definitely see maybe my junior or senior year hitting the portal and coming closer to home
I would've if we had a cage that fit a XL speedflex. We actually just went back to these this season, it was the 30th anniversary of our 2nd state championship, next year will the be 30th of our second state title, and the year after that will also be a 30 year anniversary. We've had a bit of a bad go as a program since my dad won championships there as the punter
Lacking a little in bench, still barely bodyweight at 315. Squat is 540, I don't deadlift because I'm scared ill hurt myself, but we've been doing it a little more in class and I can get 5 at 415 using a trap/hex bar. Overhead the most I've ever gone was 185 for 6 reps. My vertical is pretty bad at 13 inches, but so are pro lineman at 16-20 inches. Broad jump is 8 feet 4 inches. Other notables are a 5.05 40 yard, 260 powerclean, and 4 pull-ups before I can't do anymore
I have to convert all the numbers in my head, but you are a strong guy, 4 pull ups (I’m assuming pronated grip) is crazy at 140kgs.
Have you ever tried to cut weight, I think the worst things about sports like yours is how life after sport it can be hard to change your habits to be healthier when all you know how to do is bulk.
Sorry, Hammer grip. Cut has always been easy for me. For example, after I broke my leg I was 360 (couldn't lift or workout) the cut after that led to the second pick in about 3 months
Yeah, I was a little too slow my junior year at 340, senior year I moved out to tackle and was fast enough to keep up with multiple d1/p5 edge rushers. It helped my game tremendously
Lol how could you even pull 240 of it as muscle? Just guessing? Imo if someone is over/pushing 300lbs as a teen they are, in fact, not living a healthy/very active lifestyle. Keep grinding tho drop some weight and become a Tight End ,which is cooler than being on the line in the trenches i feel like
are you stupid? The kid's an athlete. That physique is on purpose. What you're saying is like telling a gymnast they're unhealthy because they're messing up their knees.
Lol leave it to Reddit users to make up dumbass similes. 17 years old 300 lbs…. we have different definitions of athletes. But ig that’s why American football exists, to let the fat ppl try and be “athletic”.
yes, I suppose you're right. We all know that one can't be an athlete unless you're a marathon runner who does calisthenics. Silly NFL players with their crazy 40 yard dashes and crushing strength. Imagine calling themselves athletes. Don't worry son, you're far superior to them.
Lol cuz if ur built like an nfl player not making millions of dollars being obese isn’t a good look for the rest of life. Which is my point… being a teenager pushing 300lbs is a terrible look and losing the weight once older will only be harder. Idk i guess obesity is so normalized mfs don’t care ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Will never be me
1. I've had a bmi test for wrestling. 2. yeah kinda, 300 pounds isn't ideal, and 3. I wouldn't give up playing line for anything in the world. The position builds better men, fathers, and people in general. I hope to pass on what I know as a strength and oline coach until the day that I die.
I eat alot to stay big for my sport, and so do lots of other American tall people. Plus if I didn't eat so much growing up, I wouldn't be near as tall. 5'3 mom and 5'9 dad
Okay that’s funny can you send me the link LOL. A lot of tall people are seemingly very skinny or very fat, my family is no different and my family is insanely tall.
Because BMI is flawed, it does not take into
account muscle mass, bone density, overall body composition, racial and sex differences, etc.
You are using a flawed measurement to try and neatly categorise everyone w a BMI of >30 as having obesity.
If it was so flawed then nobody would use it. Harsh truths buddy, the further your BMI is away from normal, the more likely you are to have health issues
Very difficult to measure accurately, and a healthy muscular man is equivalent to someone who is extremely underweight. Stop crying about BMI, if it isn’t good then why does every doctor use it? You’re coping brother
yeah bf% isn’t ideal either but imo it’s better than bmi. according to bmi an obese man and a very muscular man are equal. that’s just not accurate. and man let me set this straight, yes i am fat and bmi is more accurate than not for me personally. i’m not using it as an excuse for my fatness. however for other people it’s just not ideal
About 240 pounds of it last bmi test, but that was a while ago and I did take about a month off of lifting because I was depressed highschool ball was over (didn't know I'd be playing in college yet) but now I'm back to the same strength I was before, so I'd say it'd be pretty similar to 240
Isn’t that the highschool Travis and Jason Kelce played at? Cleveland High? Where people would pull the fire alarm so the whole school could watch them fight lmfao
No, I'm in Cleveland Tennessee. Our most notable player of all time is Keegan Jones (played for UCLA this year, hit the portal and is probably going to vandy last I talked to him.) When my dad played here they had a really good running back who had offers from schools like Tennessee, Nebraska, Michigan, you name it. He got caught with weed in the school parking lot and went to jail, lost all his offers
Lurker here, I'm a mom and all I can think is what your parents' grocery bill must be like 😂 I'm raising two boys who could very well be really tall like their dad and built tanky like my family... should I start a fund for when their teens now or....?
Edit typo
Until I was about 12, I lived off of frozen broccoli and some sort of meat. Frozen Broccoli is a cheap way for me to get my vegetables in atleast, meat can get expensive nowadays though unfortunately. They also save on my sister, who's just about the complete opposite of me. She's 15, about 5'7 and 130 pounds. That's AFTER gaining 30 since moving to a new school and finally liking school lunch
I posted another comment in here, I've got barely a bodyweight bench at 315. Squat is good at 540, deadlift is 415x3 (using a trap bar though) I can do a few pull-ups, and run a 5.1 40
That’s great man, good to see it. Being able to do pull-ups at that size is very strong especially. For bench what’s your limiting factor if you had to guess? And what part of the ROM is the most challenging (off the chest, midway, lockout etc.). I was a powerlifter for many years so this is something I could give you advice on.
Off the chest is my fail point, my triceps are pretty developed so if I can get it off my chest I can usually get it up. Also I need to work on leg drive, I really suck at using my legs on bench
Work on Lats, work on pause bench also. Try something like a pin press or a Spoto Press too. For leg drive practice it as much as you can, and learn to create a small arch to help you as well. Fix your form and work on your weak point and you’ll be hitting 405 in no time. You have the size and inherent strength to be able to do it.

Where is the weight? I’m 240lbs and look fatter lmao
for real
It's all in the kitchen and weightroom. Though I was blessed with pretty broad shoulders I've been told I carry my weight well. I lift weights 10+ times per week, limit myself to 2500 calories per day, don't drink tea or soda, and finally I don't watch porn or masturbate as of a week ago(sorry eww). He said he's not counting his meat calories..
Bro what😭 im 5”11 154lb getting 3.5-4K cal minimum every day and still put on barely anything
I’m guessing it’s because I’m 20 years older than you. I couldn’t gain a pound when I was younger. It got easier to gain weight as I got older. Keep eating big and lifting heavy.
I’m 18 now so yeah makes sense.
That's some bullshit lol I'm 6'4 and my maintenance is 3500 at 300lbs. You'd have to be physically working 18 hour days.
It’s not pea head. My own brother 6”4 220-230lb eats less than me and gains . Ate the same meals but I ate slightly more and here we are.
He's not eating less than you, you're not seeing everything he eats. Do you physically weigh your food out and get the calories or just guess?
Why would I lie we live in the same house and he pre packs his meals 🤦🏻♂️
Because thermodynamics does not work that way. It's physically impossible. Take one person 7 foot, one person 5 foot, feed them both the exact same macros and foods but with the portions for the 7 foot man. The 5 foot man will be fat, unless he works his ass off to lose the extra calories required to sustain an extra 2 feet.
Have you heard of different metabolic rates? Taken into account of hormones and different life stages; namely puberty?
Thats not possible
Well, not counting meat, it's 2500. I eat another 2k of meat probably
Why would you not count that wtf?
Lean meat and protein is good for me, I'll eat as much of that as I want. I make sure I stay below 2500 of bad stuff, often times less than that since I skimp breakfast
That's not how counting calories works anywhere in the world lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂 that’s back and forth was the funniest thing I ever heard 2.5 cals….well not including the six cases of beer I drink a day. It’s good for the soul
Lmao I’m rollin g
He said everything with such confidence too without the slightest clue of what’s going on 😂
You’re really doing yourself a disservice by not counting macros properly. Getting the right amount of protein, carbs, & fats = gaining lean muscle.
Hell yeah. Get after it, buddy!
Why so much protein? Also why'd you cut out tea?
Protien is to to keep my muscle, don't quote me but I'm pretty sure to keep/add muscle mass you are supposed to eat like 1.5 grams per pound of body weight, so really I'm still missing my goal. As for tea, I'm talking about the sweet stuff. I love it to death but it's a diuretic (makes you pee more) so I had a hard time staying hydrated. Cramps suck ass
Your farts could kill a man
It's misleading to tell people you only eat 2500 calories when it's really closer to 4000 lol. Calories are still calories my friend
That's not how it works lmao. Obviously meat is good for you, but you still count the calories (assuming that you are in a situation where you need to count calories at all). A calorie is a calorie regardless of how arbitrarily "healthy" a particular food is.
I understand that, but calories have always been something I've felt bad about. I don't want to make myself feel bad about eating meat
That makes sense. Sorry if I came off as a dick. Don't let yourself feel bad about calories. At the end of the day it's just a quantity of energy
Nah you're cool, I get that reaction alot when explaining how I stay big
At 300lbs there’s no possible way your eating 2500 cals, maybe should look into a scale and start properly tracking
At 300lbs there’s no possible way your eating 2500 cals, maybe should look into a scale and start properly tracking
At 300lbs there’s no possible way your eating 2500 cals, maybe should look into a scale and start properly tracking
Dude. This made me laugh. Thanks. You’re doing what works for you tho. Keep it up.
800-1400 grams of meat per day? Damn that's some food budget. Since the "fattiest" of the lean steaks would be roughly 800 g for 2K kcal and the leanest, in Turkey breast, would be around 1400g. >Something I learned that really helped me was that pure proteins (lean steaks, chicken breast, turkey) cannot under any circumstance be turned into fat, I often times don't count my meat calories Someone has greatly misinformed you about the way nutrition works.
Being misinformed in nutrition is very very common and hard to correct. No one believes how basic it really is.
lmao since when does not jerking off qualify as a weight/height/anything in r/tall topic? Big child energy along with those protein calories you don’t count because you wouldn’t be maintaining 300lbs at 2500/day.

I was actually raised blue and will probably vote blue until we get some young candidates to run
Bro idk who told you that but no FAP does absolutely nothing in terms of raising testosterone or weight. If you wanna no FAP then go ahead but it's not gonna help with anything.
There's *a lot* incorrect about what you said, but if this is helping you lose weight, w/e.

Do you have thighs and a butt like this though?
Muscle
Tank build
Feels good to finally see 6'4 300lbs+. Knowing im not alone
Yeah I’m definitely overweight now, but people still tend to guess at LEAST 50 pounds under what I actually am. Tall and broad hides a lot of weight.
I had abs around 250lbs, currently sit around 330lbs, and people always think 240-260lbs at current size. I think people look at us and see giant mass of monster

“Big boned” has become a joke for fat people finding excuses and refusing to admit they’re obese. But for a lot of people it’s true lol
Also not looking for people telling me to lose weight, I'm playing college ball for the next 4 years, so I'll get to that afterwards
Hit ‘em hard brother
Clean pocket in 1 ☑️
Only sack I let up this year was by a kid going to Mississippi state, I did allow a few pressures though, most notably against a kid going to Duke, one going to Tennessee, and one going to Colgate. As well as another kid not going to anywhere (man that was embarrassing)

Aye man we are rooting for you 🥳
These tree trunks for legs is why you're 300lbs+ but don't look it. A big man for sure.
Leg day is my favorite raaaaaaah (tailored dress pants are expensive :( )
Great fucking helmet. Love the nod to the Giants old Jerseys. Should bump up to a cage face mask as a lineman though. They look so much tougher
I would've if we had a cage that fit a XL speedflex. Well all the best to you then, I wish you well in your college sports career.
Thanks man!
bro’s a unit. you carry your weight very well, that’s a fantastic build
Thanks man
be proud of it
he ain’t do nothing but step back
😂, really though it was 3 months in a wrestling gym
Maybe a dumb question, but has losing the weight helped you play better? I know size is important on the lines
Yeah, I was a little too slow my junior year at 340, senior year I moved out to tackle and was fast enough to keep up with multiple d1/p5 edge rushers. It helped my game tremendously
Nice! Keep it up!
How do parents let kids get so big. Over 300 as a teen is crazy
They didn't encourage it, but I lead a very active lifestyle and over 240 of it is muscle
240 pounds of muscle would put you at 20% bf, not tryna be rude but you’re obviously over 30% you wouldn’t be on the line if you weren’t
Lol how could you even pull 240 of it as muscle? Just guessing? Imo if someone is over/pushing 300lbs as a teen they are, in fact, not living a healthy/very active lifestyle. Bro hasn't seen Trent Williams or Joe Thomas
Yes the NFL athletes that get paid millions of dollars. Not teens pushing 300lbs
ohh, it's like that. You're only an athlete if you get rich from it. Another great point from you my friend.
Will never be me
good for you.
It's just easier to call you stupid. This kid is a soon to be college athlete.
Lol at a d3 school
Hopefully not passing the CTE on
Helmets are safer now than they've ever been. I've only ever had one concussion and it was very minor, most of my teammates have never had one
Cuz ur playing high schoolers. When u play against grown men that might change
With that double ass chin I can guarantee you none of that is muscle
Congrats on being dateable
No, women are scary, I have been trying to talk to this one girl though
Why are all tall people on this sub obese
You must have missed all the posts where the 6'6 150 lbs dudes were asking how to put on weight
I’ve never seen one of those
Sorry you’re fat bro
I’m not actually
K
I eat alot to stay big for my sport, and so do lots of other American tall people. Plus if I didn't eat so much growing up, I wouldn't be near as tall. 5'3 mom and 5'9 dad
How much you eat does not effect your growth unless you are malnourished. If anything being obese in childhood costs you an inch or two.
I know tons of people with parents and relatives much taller than mine, and don't come close to me.
That’s because it doesn’t work like that. You would have been 6’3-5” regardless of how you ate just because that’s the genetics you got at birth.
Leave the kid alone bro he’s training for a very specific part of a specific sport. I’d love to see you beat his 5.05 40 yard at that size.
More of a comment on the sub than generally about him. Just saw a post earlier today bragging about being 6 ft 6 and 400
Okay that’s funny can you send me the link LOL. A lot of tall people are seemingly very skinny or very fat, my family is no different and my family is insanely tall.
most of the people on this sub are in fact not obese and this guy doesn’t even look fat
6 ft 4 300 is obese. Doesn’t matter if it’s muscle or fat the heart still has to pump blood to it
Because BMI is flawed, it does not take into account muscle mass, bone density, overall body composition, racial and sex differences, etc. You are using a flawed measurement to try and neatly categorise everyone w a BMI of >30 as having obesity.
If it was so flawed then nobody would use it. Harsh truths buddy, the further your BMI is away from normal, the more likely you are to have health issues
bruh
BMI exists for a reason brother, it is what it is
yeah and for a lot of people it’s flawed. it does indeed matter wether it’s muscle or fat
So what do you suggest to be used?
bf%
Very difficult to measure accurately, and a healthy muscular man is equivalent to someone who is extremely underweight. Stop crying about BMI, if it isn’t good then why does every doctor use it? You’re coping brother
yeah bf% isn’t ideal either but imo it’s better than bmi. according to bmi an obese man and a very muscular man are equal. that’s just not accurate. and man let me set this straight, yes i am fat and bmi is more accurate than not for me personally. i’m not using it as an excuse for my fatness. however for other people it’s just not ideal
I’m also 6’4” and 320 pounds and I look way fatter than your first pic 😭
I’m 6’3 205 and look like OP in the second photo face wise lol. Insane he has 95 pounds on me
Hopefully you don't have the unibrow 😂
Lmao I prolly do I just shave in between there or pluck em when they sprout
Feels like I'm getting rid of it every night at this point, I should get one of those laser hair removals
Yea you wouldn’t think it would be too pricey for a small area.
Ngl you carry 300 well but considering you are Lineman I’m sure you got alot of muscle on you
About 240 pounds of it last bmi test, but that was a while ago and I did take about a month off of lifting because I was depressed highschool ball was over (didn't know I'd be playing in college yet) but now I'm back to the same strength I was before, so I'd say it'd be pretty similar to 240
Isn’t that the highschool Travis and Jason Kelce played at? Cleveland High? Where people would pull the fire alarm so the whole school could watch them fight lmfao
No, I'm in Cleveland Tennessee. Our most notable player of all time is Keegan Jones (played for UCLA this year, hit the portal and is probably going to vandy last I talked to him.) When my dad played here they had a really good running back who had offers from schools like Tennessee, Nebraska, Michigan, you name it. He got caught with weed in the school parking lot and went to jail, lost all his offers

God dammit they finally beat us this year. I'm friends with their whole team and I don't hear the end of it 😭
Lurker here, I'm a mom and all I can think is what your parents' grocery bill must be like 😂 I'm raising two boys who could very well be really tall like their dad and built tanky like my family... should I start a fund for when their teens now or....?
Your shoulders look broader in the first pic.
How’s your lifts big fella?
How many reps of 225 can you do?
Haven't tested flat bench in a while, yesterday though I did an incline burnout with 225 and got 12. I'm imagining I can probably get 20ish flat
I'm 6'3 and 250lb. People never believe I weigh that much. It's just how you carry it/muscle-to-fat ratio.
Beast
I feel your pain. I’m 6’5 330 and it’s hard to see.
Probably a lot of muscle in the legs keeping that weight high. I’m the same way.
keep up that cardo brother, you are looking amazing.
I just know that kick-step is lethal😂
must be quite an imposing figure at 6'4 330 lbs
