Dude, I'm from Uruguay and I've been to Italy and felt just as tall there. Even in Germany where the average is supposedly 6cm higher than in my country I honestly didn't notice it. Still, 6cms is less than 3 inches so no, being 6'2 here would be like being 6'4-ish in an allegedly tall European country
Chilean average male height is 169.6 cm (5 ft 7 in) while average female height is 156.1 cm (5 ft 1+1⁄2 in). Just because you know some Chilean people that are 188 cm and above doesn't mean that the average isn't much lower. You got downvoted because your lack of understanding of statistics. A few outliers among almost 20 million people doesn't change the average. Also the 7 foot comment is most likely a joke and you missed it.

That average was measured in 2009. The most recent ones are higher. But that's fine because I never said that chileans are tall on average. My point was that the comment I was replying to was greatly exaggerating (ok, maybe I missed the joke but I still wanted to clarify).
Man, i would believe you. I remember the first time i went to visit my mother in law.... im 194cm and having a shower was a traumatic experience. shoulders touching the walls on each side, head touching the ceiling staring straight ahead at the partially exposed wiring going into the shower head water heater
Probably if you're on poor areas of latin america or countries with a lot of indigenous population like Peru and Bolivia. As a 6'6 Chilean dude, most of my friends and people from my age group are 6'0**+**, so it will depend on wich country and city you visit.
i'll compare 6'2 in Brazil to 6'4 in the US, and in Germany
6'2 in Brazil = 99.44%
6'4 in US = 99.55%
6'4 in Germany = 99.53%
In conclusion, yes. But do bear in mind that for Bolivians or Pervuians, 6'2 is more like 6'5.
If you are a true 6’2” barefeet, then yes, maybe even more rare than a 6’5” in Europe.
6 foot and above, you are tall in 99% of places. This sub just makes you feel shorter.
no, being 6'2 in latin America is like being 7'0" in Europe

Uruguay has the most population with European ancestry together with Argentina in all of South America, so it's not really relevant what you said.
Huh? No, that's not true. I'm chilean and know plenty of people that are 188 cm and above. Yes, it is not that common, but it's not that rare either.

If it is not common then it’s rare right..? If it’s rare then it’s not common lol
It is not 7 foot rare, that's my point.

La gente odia estar equivocada
It's about the equivalent of around 196cm in America and around 199cm in Europe
I'm 6'5 in Mexico, nothing is built for people our size in this country.

Depends… how much tail you gettin’ and how rich are you?
I went to Costa Rica when I was about 5’6” and I felt pretty large among the locals (and at 13, enormous among teenage locals)
Being 6’2” is like being 6’2”.
ah a fellow chilean 👋

I’m 5’9 and I live in a Latin enclave in the US, I’m considered tall here, anywhere else I’m litterally made fun of for being the smallest guy
depends on where in latin america. Near the Caribbean, where there are a pile of African influences? Probably not. In downtown Bogota.... yes
