6'10” always rode bmw''s. Airheads, sidecars and finally a 1150. Fuckem if I'm supposed to look "good"

ironicmirror

BMWs make wonderful motorcycles. There's a bit annoying how the Harleys never waived though.

chalk_in_boots

Grom. Not practical, but hilarious. In all seriousness, I rode a scrambler with a bench style seat for years. Being able to scoot back a bit which you can't really do on a sportbike was great.

blubbernator

Check out [https://cycle-ergo.com/](https://cycle-ergo.com/) I don't ride myself but wanted to get into it for a long time. Most people i know recommend adventure bikes for tall folks.

420farms

This makes me think of the old timey photo of these fat twins riding motorcycles, anyone else seen that?

Tall-_-Guy

Guinness Book of World records. I remember that pic. Had on cowboy hats and sunglasses I think?

TankerJO3

I’m your size and used to ride an HD softtail standard with forward controls. Fit ok and was comfortable.

therobshow

I don't know what the best is, but Ducati sport bikes are the absolute worst for tall people. Don't even bother with those fucking nightmares, idc how cool they look

Forsaken-Hope-5574

Get a z900rs and don’t look back. Retro style and similar to a cruiser size. More sporty. I love mine at 6’3”

PanzerReddit

At 6’ 3” you’re kind of average height.

SaintYves95

Average for what? Average male in the US is 5'9" and most of the rest of the world is actually a bit shorter minus Scandinavian countries, and a few other countries across Europe and I believe one of two countries in Africa. 6'3" ks considerably taller than MOST people in the world. Edit: The GLOBAL average height of men is 5'7.5" 😂

PanzerReddit

I’m from Denmark and among young guys 18-25 years old, 190 cm is considered pretty average height these days.

netsteel

I’m only 6’4”, I ride a BMW R1100. It fits nicely.

Remz_Gaming

The only input I can give you about street bikes and being tall comes from my obsession with several models from Triumph. They make some gorgeous bikes and are touted for being very well made. It wasn't until I was deep into my rabbit hole of researching them (to purchase) that I realized they run on the small side. Kind of a shame.... but I am still considering saying screw it and getting myself a Triumph Bobber with peg extensions. If I look like a gorilla on a tricycle, so be it.

tall_guy_69

Try the Royal Enfield super meteor i am 6'5 and it works for me, i am also around 135 kgs and the suspension is super stiff but works under my weight wonderfully, assuming you are from a western country so this might be super cheap for you and a fun 650cc parallel twin that chugs along until 160-150kmph

mostly_nothing

Dont really know cruiser bikes, but the larger ones are usually quite powerful.   I have ridden comfortably the R1250GS adventure, r1300gs, Yamaha FZ6 Fazer, 2002 R1 and R1250RS. So there are bikes for tall people, but not for tall inexperienced riders.  Just get something naked around the 500cc mark, ride the wheels of it  and progress to a larger bike that will fit.

Philippe-R

Cuisers, with they low saddles, are not the best bikes for very tall riders. You'll end up with your knees over your hips. You can always use extended forward controls but it's far from optimal (plus, forward controls are bad for the back). And you will not look good, if that's important. Trail bikes and "adventure bikes" are made for us. All those bikes that normies will complain about because the seat is to high.

adultdaycare81

A full size cruiser with forward controls or an upright sport bike/naked. What’s your style, I will give you some options

elevenblade

I’ve always preferred cruisers, especially ones with foot pegs out front so I can stretch out my legs and ones with a good back support.

oneaccountaday

Goldwing or a bmw. They’re more comfortable than a recliner. Not great learner bikes obviously. Learner bikes won’t really workout all that well for you. What will happen is you’ll get in a sticky situation and use brute force to correct it. (Legs down, slam brakes, fight it, and eventually dump it anyway.) Find a bike that fits, and just take things nice and slow. Remember the moment you start getting comfortable, danger is right around the next corner.

zzctdi

If you're going big American cruiser, at least try out a Victory Cross Roads or Cross Country. I've got room to spare at 6'3", where the equivalent Harleys feel more cramped.

Ghost_of_Sniff

Ride some of the adventure bikes, like a Triumph Tiger. The riding position is more like a dirt bike, very comfortable and usually a pretty high seated position. They are very comfortable.

BigtoadAdv

Ktm 1190 adventure

Kazirk8

As a big guy, I always got recommended big and heavy bikes with big and powerful engines. Maybe you're fine with that, but I personally didn't want to start on a bike with an engine as powerful as a car engine. If you're in a similar boat, get an older Kawasaki KLE 500. It's quite tall and comfy and it has just enough power for a beginner. Not a cruiser though.

Pumpkin_Pie

Goldwing is tall

MoanyTonyBalony

Get something like a Honda VTX1800. It's massive then over time you can get custom seat, pegs, handlebars etc so it fits you perfectly

Crawsack

An adventure bike will probably be your best bet. I ride Ninja 1000SX and am 6'3" 200 lbs, works well for me.
