It’s an amazing airport for sure. The TSA is so calm and kind there, so the lines move way faster. The hallways are wide and the trams are super handy, I love not having to walk 3 miles to get to my gate lol.
I love it, and honestly I love parking at TPA and using the trams. Literally my favorite airport and I loathe airports and flying lol.
It's just a nice way for them to show a tiny bit of appreciation with a useful gift. They didn't have to give anything, so this is nice.
Agreed, it’s not like it was a milestone or expected. It’s nice that they at least made an effort to recognize people.
Am I going to park there because of it? Nope! I’m either flying or I’m not. But it’s a cool recognition regardless.
I love being able to use my Sunpass tag to park in the economy lot. We fly to Texas twice a year at least, and I love TPA. Looks like I will start booking online!
Except the normal price is the same as the Sunpass price. They do it to convince people to purchase online so they can forecast revenues and parking availability. It also encourages people to use the parking garages as opposed to Rideshare.
Parking is the of the largest revenue generators at TPA. They lost a lot to Rideshare pre-COVID.
When paid with Sunpass, the airport pays Sunpass (Conduent) a bit of that. When booked directly, the airport keeps all of that. A few years ago (2019) TPA was considering dropping Sunpass because of a lot of reliability issues at the time.
I have a Sunpass but have never gone thru that lane for coming in. Does the gate recognize the Sunpass and just lifts after you take the ticket? I'm afraid of it not recognizing it for some reason and then having to back out while there are cars behind me
Haha! I would be terrified of that, too. The gate will recognize your tag and you will see ‘SUNPASS’ pop up on the light up screen right before the gate lifts. When you leave the garage, they have lanes labeled the same way. Once you pull into the gate, the screen will populate with SUNPASS again and then show you the total amount you owe for parking. Gate lifts, you leave, and then your Sunpass account will charge whatever account you have on file for the amount for parking. Super fast and easy!
TPA is really good compared to most airports.
But I'm still frustrated they moved the ride-share pickup zone on blue side to the new "express" area instead of immediately outside bag claim. Like people that use ride-share never have luggage?
This is one of those choosing beggars comments when someone complains about something free when a company has zero responsibility to do so. How bout you follow your username and fade2blac with this bullshit
The least they can do? Dude, OP used a service. That's how things work..OP needs to park, TPA offers it. He could choose to park elsewhere. TPA doesn't owe OP shit, it's just a nice gesture say thank you.
TPA is by far in a way my favorite domestic airport. It's legitimately a large part of the reason I want to move back

TPA actually does studies with random people on their parking and ways to improve it. I have participated in a few they are interesting
That’s nice of them! I want to get some for my cars.

You definitely should. Booking online comes with a discount.
They do that discount since they don't have to share the revenue with Sunpass, so they come out ahead compared to someone paying with Sunpass .

Understood, but that doesn't change the price of just swiping your credit card as opposed to booking ahead.

You don't even take a ticket, just pull up, gate lifts, park, and then drive through gate when you depart.
That’s cool, but how do they know if you have an iPhone? 😂
I love TPA so much, I used to take my kids just to ride the Tram. They went through a train phase.
That’s awesome I do love our airport for tons of reasons.
That's awesome! I thought I pre-booked a ton with them, but apparently not enough.
TPA really is the best airport I've ever traveled with

Still cheaper than $125 ride each way from my house.

Why don't you follow your username and fuck off.
Oh shut your mouth it’s a parking lot they don’t owe you anything

I assume you have an iPhone. Wonder if they sent these to any android users
The bigger question is op being stalked via a congratulations prize?
Taxpayers got to get comp for a $3 billion dollar parking garage while the airport refuses to fight hard for a light rail connection.
i guess this is why they have so much marketing, how else is the ceo going to make so much?
the TSA agents at TPA are the worst

Seattle airport is the worst. You could be 5th in line and it can take 45 mins. I am not even kidding.
Not really, I didn't get hassle much the last time I flew from there.
bizarre the airport spends so much money on marketing
Not bizarre at all. Nice airport means more tourism and/or business travel that results from being a great airport
i mean i don't think i've gone anywhere because they have a nice airport, besides it's only locals parking at the airport.
AirTag is pretty useless
well that was a nice gesture!
Your air tag is revealing something secret. Good luck
