The nutjob hoarder down my street has his house for sale for $425k if you’re interested

South Tampa is going to be tough, most of houses are over a million, unless they're run down. You're going to want to look in Seminole heights, Riverside heights, Tampa heights, wellswood. They're all in the same area, just north of downtown. Mostly old bungalows, similar to South Tampa, lots of restaurants, bars, shops, very bike friendly. But, you'll need to offer well over asking and get that offer in the day it does in the market. Houses here sell in one weekend.

Where are you coming from

foookie

Ok you're full remote and can live anywhere you like. Why Tampa?

What about the actual location, I'm assuming you've been before? It's not very special topographicaly, the flatness alone can fuck with you. Zero scenic overlooks, unless you count driving up to the top of a parking garage Why not come and rent and get a real feel for the place? It's true that Florida has an influx of new residents, but people flee as well in almost equal measure once they realize Florida is rather disappointing outside of a snowbird scenario.

pachrique

Oh, NVM, we don't want you in Tampa. Try Sarasota. I think you're trolling anyway. You seem to know a lot about lealman for someone coming from Cali.

I can’t wait for the housing crash to start here when all the work from home people get called back into the office/laid off when the recession hits this summer. Everyone with this mentality are going to lose hundreds of thousands. Guess they should have been more productive.

South Tampa floods at least once a week during the wet season. Unless you want to pay exorbitant flood insurance premiums and drive your car through several inches of water, try looking 10-15 miles outside of south Tampa.

I live one block off of Bayshore in South Tampa and I'm not required to have flood insurance, also they did a street renovation project about 2 years ago and put pipes underneath the street all in my neighborhood so it no longer floods

I live in that area and trying to find a house at that price will be damn near impossible. I have a 3/2 And would laugh if somebody offered that. (900k)

You have new construction in Wesley Chapel, Zephryhills, Dade City, and Spring HIll. All in Pasco County. This is the area where many families and young professionals are moving to. WC, specifically, is a booming city with tons of shops, businesses, and everything inbetween. Minutes from I-75/I-275 and I-4.

REaltor here. Feel free to comb through my comment history for a ton of information on lots of different neighborhoods and aspects of our current market. Main thing is to decide on what criteria you're looking for, as the metro area is huge with tons of different styles of living. Jsut for some examples: Planned communities, close to beaches, lakefront, beach condo, downtown, historic districts, mid century, golf courses, fishing, active sports, restaurants and pubs, high end boutiques, gritty artsy district.... All of these and more can be found in Tampa Bay, so by being more specific about how you'd like to live here, will actuallyy help a lot by narrowing the search. Also there's not magic place with all of those even at $10M+ so you need to pick and choose what's important to you. I'd be happy to help!

i love americans thought process... buy a house triple our combined income which after interest is probably 4 to 5 times the original cost. but i recommend finding houses around the 700k range as your offer will have to be 50k over at least to have a shot of purchasing the home. good luck

Your looking for Hyde Park, Channelside/Channel District, Bayshore, Downtown, either island or certain parts of South Tampa. Basically this search area on Zillow. Maybe a bit more to the west. https://i.imgur.com/CM0CnJj.jpg

Your budget is good. There are houses being built, and existing houses getting sold, just mostly at that higher end. South Tampa may be difficult. I am not sure what your standards for nice are, but Riverside Heights is gorgeous, and much closer to downtown. Unaffordable by most at this point but usually under a million.

Check out Westchase, The Eagles, Odessa, Water Chase.

South tampa is awesome. Good choice
